I like the idea of pinning a smaller animal generally being a "well don't do that next time" kinda situation for the victim
but there are situations where it can just feel rather poorly designed. Like a raptor pinning another fully healthy raptor because...it weight a couple kilos less? And so it just sits there waiting...keyboard effectively unplugged.... 💤

Just feels like there's room for improvement.

Pins make a mockery of CC attacks (given that pins are a form of CC).
You can resist CC, you can resist pins.
I think the issue is that when pinned the end of the pin comes when you are dead or the pinner runs out of stamina.
I just think there needs to be a struggle phase in a pin.

It's also why I dislike the automatic recoil damage some animals like Troodon have; I'm still not playing, it's doing it FOR me. So I'm still just sitting there like "oh well."

If you are a raptor sure, but a stego being pinned. If you can thrash out and waste the Rexs stamina you just leave afterwards.
Of course you would need things like "rex pin and crush only body fractures". that way you can leave the fight.
But it is a solution to alleviate the frustrations with the mechanic.
we had the same thing with CC resist timers and get up timers. For ages they were a problem, the solution was given, some people said it would not help because of this or that and then we got the solution and I don't see many people complain about being knocked down and get up timers anymore.

Not the worst, but nighttime is dangerous and threats are difficult to notice, It is wise to tread carefully though you arent entirely helpless

1: Trike, Galli
Bad nightvision, you are diurnal and nighttime is not a good occasion to be strolling about. Best to pick a place to settle down till twilight hours unless you are brave enough to face great danger stumbling about.

This should be the AVERAGE AMOUNTS of nightvision you get, and environmental factors shouldnt have a MAJOR change as they do now. full moons only make it slightly better rather than turning it basically day, and storms only make it slightly worse rather than making you no different than a disconnected screen.

I forgot to get back to you on this, Dock. I do wish apex carnivores only had (at most) one A.I. animal on their diet, so that growth was more dependent on hunting players. If it was something small like a deer or goat, then as it grows, that food source no longer is able to sustain them. Rexes have it very easy when it comes to their diet right now.
