My thoughts on pz and mz:

If you go to an MZ and stay there for a set amount of time to meet the requirement, or the food runs out, it moves to the next mz in your dinos chain.

Pzs will only highlight if a herbivore or carnivore is actively inside it (and shows up for other carnivores), and that is where AI spawn, making it a much more dangerous thing to go to. So a carnivore could be in one patrol zone and see a different patrol zone on their compass, coaxing them to go there.
