You don't need to eat something what is in your diet, you can just eat anything you are able to, you don't get punished for eating wrong type of plant, you just don't get the bonuses

I dont think its a good thing, you waste so many hours just so to be in a state thats weaker than a fg again. Apexes arent really an issue tho, lower tiers suffer more from this. Its a punishment to surviving entombment 3-4 times and getting prime each time. And the stacked mutations arent a huge advantage compared to a skill difference. A better rex will still win against a stacked but bad rex

I disagree with the incentive not being great enough, you get a limited time to enjoy your strong state, many people play for pvp, and having to repeat the whole process with risks isn’t a big appeal to most players. Right now like I said, going from your example, rex doesn’t need to entomb because for rex weight and fracture matters, so its debuffs dont affect too much. But anything below apex tier get so slow and weak they are forced to entomb, not to mention their elder stage doesnt last long. The appeal should solely be buffing your mutations, otherwise entombing should be a choice. They can still debuff them but much less, to put them in a similar level around fg strength rather than weaker and slower

I do agree, elder stage does not last long, so you do not stay "adult" for long, making the time you have with your adult playable rather short... but just playing for pvp? there are dedicated servers for that I believe... perhaps we need to take into consideration that the game is not solely meant for pvp but for surviving, in which is harder to do in old age, and needs to be harder for some things currently.

Another mechanic or two, and some heavy handed structural changes would be needed to tackle the issue of coordinated mixpacks, but a stress system really isn't all that complicated. Limit its effects based on speed dynamics, so faster creatures with the option to leave are the ones who are punished severely, have some variation so if you are only slightly faster then both parties get punished lightly. Have damage thresholds present to allow for prolonged hunts, and just adjust those thresholds until it can't be directly exploited.

Plus, a stress mechanic has a lot of other options for gameplay beyond just any mixpacking/overpacking, and the positives of those effects, if well designed, and well implemented, shouldn't be dismissed out of a fear that players will try and abuse it.

Thus... additional measures would be required to prevent coordinated mixpacks. But random or otherwise more egregious instances would be prevented. The mixpacking issue in BoB is still apparent but it's significantly reduced since the clans need to come in waves. You can win a single fight, and then the clan will send in backup, rather than dealing with every member of the mixpack simultaneously. It's just generally easier to deal with, and for a lot of existing groups, might not even be worth the trouble.

Question for anyone that knows. If memory serves, Congenital Hypoalgesia doesn't actually care if the your species in general grows larger than the species attacking you, only if the thing attacking you is larger than you at the moment.

For example sake; Let's say I'm a 2 Ton Dibble with Congenital and I'm getting attacked by a 2.6 Ton Allo. Congenital would still apply in this scenario, right?

Ive actually had a strat I've been applying on PvP servers with Trike where I wouldn't go the full 12.5 Tons/87.5% but would do 80%-85% with Congenital lmao. Glad to hard confirm that it actually had been doing something

I actually managed to kill a peak Prime Rex as a 75% Trike, but I don't remember if I had Congenital for that fight

Issue with your strat on trike is that trike can only stun same size rex, so a prime rex becomes very impossible to fight if it knows even a tiny bit what its doing

This Rex did, how 'good' they actually were is hard to gauge cause no rankings/ELO obviously but I've seen them on the PvP server a lot and they usually do good work. I think what mainly kept me in the fight was just making him spar and winning those engagements.

He did still manage to pummel me though and I thought I was toast but Ive noticed a lot of 'good' Rexs so to speak really don't respect the upper half of your body once you're leg fractured and I managed to nuke him with Thrash.

I do really dislike how skewed the MU favors Prime Rex against young adult/75%ish Trike considering that Trike is forced to take that engagement.

Id need to Test and see what the actual Stun Threshold is for myself for adult Trike. I believe I saw it was a 1 ton above your weight when 75% which is unfortunate but I'd like to hard confirm this for myself once I get the chance.

The logic for why it plays out the way it is now is there, but the issue I take is Trike is forced to take that fight in most/all circumstances which isn't really 'fair'. Yes this game is not always fair but there's a line to be drawn on your ability to fight/flee/hide from a threat. Adult Trike is not built to flee nor hide, so getting spotted means you're gonna have to accept that incredible odds of a fight.

Now, part of that issue also has less to do with the MU balancing of Trike V Rex and moreso that a lot of Primes are wickedly overtuned atm.
