tbh I can agree with increasing the threshold for knockdown to something like 5-10x its own weight (assuming it doesnt get a weight buff from the ground buffs) since anything in that range is either too small to put up a fight anyway, can easily escape a ptera, or can jump.

But it does still need there to be a threshold otherwise we end up in the same issue as before where stuff like dilos and carnos have to just hide from a determined ptera because they PHYSICALLY have no counterplay to the constant pecks

the goalposts are not moved or broad. Flying predators dont get into fights on the ground for food. Period. They kill things sure, thats not a fight. Predatory flying animals fight either in the air or they use surprise to take out other animals if that animal could possibly be dangerous. Some of them also kill things that are absolutely above their size. Whether thats the type of animal ptera is, depends on the game. It may just be a scavanger. None of that invalidates what I said. I am leaving it at this because im not going to argue with someone like this.

I do appreciate the way they've given many small pocket ecosystems for animals in the water. There are the slow sections between cataracts along the big northern rivers, the multiple ponds and spread out sections of the big waterfall area, and the many different waterways in the river delta. There also lots of logs and even small underwater caves at the bottom of some lakes, and then the swamp - obviously swamp needs work, but it is nice in that deino's have plenty of room to spread out

but do you know how considerable the stat diff is?? it's almost a guarantee that a prime elder dino and a frail elder dino both at 80% and of the same dino type, the prime dino will win in a fight almost every time. it doesn't allow for skill to win.

it's almost like lets take a almost adult but sub adult rex vs another rex that is FULL adult and match them up. Theres really no contest

The officials are kinda just cooked on the matter of preventing mix packing without it being exploited in some way by the cheeky player base, and if nothing comes to prevent the hackers its dead in the water with only hopes of Unofficial servers.

Officials are honestly more of a testing ground, not a true experience with a balanced ecosystem. They're a "you're free to do whatever" kinda thing.
I recommend an unofficial like petit pieds, metas den, nerf, triassic, etc.
There's rule enforcement, population control and other tools to create a more realistic experience

Like I said, unofficials since there's less hackers too. The main officials aren't getting any moderation, they're a sandbox where anything can go. I'd strongly advise looking for a good unofficial with no mix packing, overpacking, etc

They did that by player request, because playerse didn't want leftover diet from young stages to make the fun adult phase any shorter

I think one thing that needs to be done for maias, and paras in the future, is just massive stam drain when sprinting.
Giraffes and elephants can run 40-45kph as well while being in the same weight range as these big dinos, but only for 10-15 sec.
As long as the stam drain is severe, you allow the dinos to be the way they are meant to be without making it oppressive to smaller slower species.
