Because you had a lot of damage done. Bleed comes in severities, and dictates how fast you bleed out. There is a mutation that stops you from bleeding out if sitting however

To make Bleeders more effective, but there's a mutation to prevent it... "Traumatic Thrombosis," which makes you stop bleeding if you sit down.

people who are born from nest are just people who got to be connected and by pure chance they ended as a baby, maybe even it's a punishment that's reserved only for the worst criminals, since you born as something that can't even feed himself and you will have (more) time to live in that world feeling the fear every second that you are still conscientious
