main things in the game are interacting with other players, surviving, completing the prime requirements, entombing, and repeating. If you want a guide on how to get prime, I'd recommend searching on youtube, it should also help you run into players who are doing the same.

Its 50/50. If you're with your own species (so long as you arent a canni species) 90% of people are chill. But if you're a different species, treat them like a potential threat or you are likely to get curb stomped by someone because they can.

Officials have no rules (except don't say vile things and don't hack) so they're home of a wide variety of people, some chill, some toxic, some new, some veterans. Unofficials are generally more curated to a more specific audience with rules, so if you find one you like stick with it.

Basically, grow your dinosaur faster by going to migration zones and patrol zones (small personal migration zones) and eating plants to increase your diet. If you are a carnivore, you can go to these zones to find prey. If you do a sequence of things during your life time until you are 75% grown, you will have the chance to reach the prime elder stage, which is the peak of your animal in strenght, speed and stats in general. The opposite of that would be the bad ending where you turn into a frail elder. Throughout your life, you can also choose various mutations to help you on your journey
After reaching 100%, you can choose Entomb from your menu and be reborn as a juvenile again. You will retain the mutations from your past life, and can now choose new mutations that accumulate throughout your lives
For a better understanding of the game, I recommend the KOUGA channel on YouTube, he has an excellent beginner's guide video

Thats a little misleading.

A bug fixed now, is a bug that will stay fixed assuming you do it right. The idea that bug fixes are partially redundant because bugs will re appear only applies if those bug fixes are rushed, or radical changes are made to how the game works. IE. An engine migration.

To our understanding, there wont be any more engine upgrades, and most of the recurring issues occur because their solutions and fixes were not strong enough to hold.

A quick and dirty bug fix might obscure or temporarily patch the issue. But if we are talking about large scale development, there shouldn't be cases where a robust bug fixing effort is miraculously undone unless you have done something very wrong.

No it's not true that a bug fixed now will always stay fixed. I used to manage a complex ERP security system, and often the bug solution that works for today doesn't work for tomorrow. Now sure you can design it in a way that's modular with as few interdependencies as possible, so as to minimise the risk changes could have, but it's impossible to eliminate all interdependencies.

The devs didn't really take a sane man's approach to early access development. Far from it in fact... just about as far as you could possibly get.

Early on, sure, they said their focus was on quickly establishing core mechanics and then expanding on them, but that simply isn't what happened.

The developers kinda skipped the whole "set up the stable foundations" step and skipped right to the content releases. Even starting in Update 2 and 3, their focus was not on developing foundations, and was rather spent on adding new content. New playables, new visuals, map changes, implementation of unnecessary mechanics, etc.

It wasnt until Update 4 that we saw meaningful progress made on the core gameplay loop with diets. But still, each "Update" came in a packaged, polished, set of additions, spaced out over several years.

In a normal early access environment, the focus would look more like... having a large programming team, a small art team, and 2 or 3 years focused on adding every single necessary mechanic to the game. Growth, Survival, Diets, Elders, Mutations, Migrations, Humans, etc. All added as quickly as possible, with as narrow a scope as possible. Two or three playables necessary for testing, no releases, just a constant stream of incremental updates, barren foundations to easily go back and adjust the designs... and only after all that would be established, would a game then move onto expansion, adding new playables, switching to an update based approach...

Moreover, avoiding things like migrating from UE4 to UE5... because holy hell, that would practically torpedo any stable groundwork that had already been made. Suddenly everything needs to be adjusted to be functional let alone strong enough to support growth.

Not to mention the amount of time spent on retreading old ground. Had they focused on establishing all the core mechanics at the start it would have been easy to spend those early years focused on redesigning, changing, and upgrading each of those mechanics to best fit the vision of the game, with a more complete view of the finished product directly in front of them. Rather, ample time has been spent going back over, reworking and adjusting mechanics years down the line after hundreds of things had already been built on top of it. Obviously leading to far more unstable results, and thus far more time spent on trying to get those into working order. Its just messy.

If The Isle had taken a more traditional, safe approach to their development, I have no doubts that the game we would have now, would be far more robust and stable than the game we have.

I think the Isle devs, regardless of what they say. Cared far too much about getting content releases out, feeding the cycle of polish and hype, rather than focusing on setting up the game. I would argue they have even clearly prioritized that over stable development.

All you need to do is look at their channel and development history, and how far spaced apart the "core mechanics" have been to see where their priorities during development sat.

The main hit to stability with UE5 comes from its specific flagship mechanics. Without those the engine still works fine, and has all of its advantages. But ah... most devs really want to use those shiny one click solutions.

You gotta consider their multiple fundraisers, and publisher... but that was just the start.

After that point they released on PC with 100% of their funds being pocketed since they don't use steam. Release on Mobile, release on all major consoles and being very successful with each of them, a ton of publicity thanks to modding, and a healthy amount of micro transactions, packs, and dlc early on.

Also, their art and animation team is teeny by comparison.

I would be gobsmacked if they have less money for development than The Isle, considering their entire business model was keeping it as simple as possible, and growing as absurdly fast as possible, with modding support to carry it further.

well for one, vire (the owner) is a terrible guy, ddossed many servers like petits and others to make his look better, he spoofs his playercounts, there aint actually 440 players most likely only 200, he also does loot crates in a DINOGAME and not even for the game just for the server itself, vire allegedly also paid hackers to go hack on other servers to make their servers look bad. OH AND ADMIN ABUSE

I remember once, me, turk and I think bird went on their got prolific reproduction as we saw "oh the value is literally 1" so we were able to grow carnos within the begging stage by just holding E after being too big, we also got the 15% photo and noct increase last update so we were like 60km and we also got super buffed congen cause back then it was like 25%, basically we were terrors for everything on the server and with prolific we did not starve or dehydrate since you know, value of 1 meaning we lost no food or water, bird and turk got banned and then appealed and got back in even without like begging or anything, so then we proceeded to kill the people at south for a couple hours
