so, it turns out you can fake your death

i was getting pretty badly hurt by some omnis as a pretty large juvie diablo. it was not looking good, so i decide to enter the ocean and start swimming along the coast trying to get away (it was up north, so the coast is pretty iffy in how long youre able to actually stay down by the water on land)

well, i ran out of stam. went under the water, i thought it was over. turns out, diablo has a pretty good oxygen meter, i was able to drift my way back to shore LOL

true fights are rare between predators. the kind where they fight to the death. Most fights are to the first real injury, which tend to not be life threatening. The most that is likely is to lose an ear, sometimes worse. However death DOES happen. Most fights between both predators and herbs in real life however, end long before life threatening injuries, specifically because of how dangerous big injuries are to the animal. Its not worth potentially being unable to hunt or to get away from hunters

Because carno is no longer a base canni. There was a time on spiro where carno was the largest land carni and was made into a canni at base. This allowed gangs of like 10 carnos to run around killing everything trying to grow. And if any of them died in combat or starvation, the rest would just feast on the dead and help them regrow.

It was not fun, and the canni mutation is starting to show similar issues, but thankfully not everyone takes it.

Def. Personally I like the idea that it should hurt your ability to get other diets, but I do agree fully cutting them off is def a bit too much. Because then most cannis would just not take the mut and kill their own then eat something else instead.

Imo, either make diet gain from other species reduced, or cut out all other species and give a MASSIVE boost to diet when eating your own.

I’ve had zero issues with hackers. Just people who are so terrible at the game they have to have the strongest dinosaur in the game to compete at all. Don’t get me wrong I’m not amazing at it, I play like 2 hours a day at most except for one day out of the week. There’s a couple reasons why they don’t:
1: good luck finding enough trustworthy mods. And if they start trying to pay for mods like many unofficials do, they have to moderate like 20 servers 24/7, not just 1.
2: it allows the devs to make mechanics that prevent this instead. They have said they are making an anti-mixpack system.
3: the issue is where do you draw the line without having false positives or negatives?

I won multiple spars against a prime T-rex as a SUBADULT trike while protecting my nearly subadult friend trike and each time he got low because I kept kicking his butt preventing him from getting the crush on me, he ran and ran and came back 5 mins later because we deal no actual real bleed or fractures

Very well. Bryan did such a great job with the rig that despite it being complex, it's pretty easy to work with. So things have been pretty smooth animation wise. Definitely in comparison to the pteranodon. They're night and day when it comes to ease of creation.

We're probably still going to be doing some stuff here and there. The grapple was iterated on pretty quickly in development. Doing grab based combat is exceptionally tricky in this sort of gameplay setting. Melee in general is already difficult enough as it is but adding what amounts to grabs in an openworld multiplayer setting with characters of all different shapes and sizes is challenging to get right. Which is why it isn't often done but we didn't want to shy away from it. Better to plan for a brighter future.
