I remember growing my first deino back in the Spiro days, it was so easy 💔, I sat in a secluded small river eating fish and any unfortunate small dinos that got too close, watching youtube in the meantime, then when I was big enough, I made my way down to more and more populated rivers till I was 100% grown

He lasted 2 weeks, I took down almost 11 other deinos in his life before finally getting jumped by a duo

They should let every animal pin to give a bit more skill to the combat.

If you can instantly die then you need to play a lot more skillfully, so giving every animal a pin (or at least every carnivore) would make the combat far harder, and therefore more skill required to be good at it.

But I might just be saying that because Allo and Rex are the gold standards of the combat and should be replicated to all the others.

I think players just dont really understand the complexity that pinning brings to the game right now, so the people that are complaining should probably just stay quiet and try to get used to it. Once you put a few dozen hours into allo or rex it all makes sense and they realize how fun it is actually.

I died many times playing deino, fighting other deino, but I had fun. I died many times playing dilo / carno dieing to cerato/dilo/carno but I had fun.

Everytime (the majority) I died to a rex I had no fun. It was just me watching the screen getting killed.

Rex is too fast, I got catched while playing cerato.

It is too strong, got my 85% prime trike killed by a facetanking rex after I got fractured in two bites.

Its too broken, got my FG allo got pinned by a non adult rex.

I only have 240 hours on this game but rex almost made me quit, ngl...

Yeah I mean for a consistent and localised job. A handsaw is useful but working with "manual" (non CNC industrial machines) is and will always be inherently dangerous no matter the safety measures

For example, why does the game don't tell you, that you have to let corpses rot, for Deinos, which dinos can safely eat bones or that you can rip open carcasses with tapping E 3 times, to get organs? Or that you can shake organs out of a corpse. That are crucial survival mechanics and you get no hint. It's also such a special key binding, you would never find out by accident. Thats really something bugging me. A game should explain itself, without the need for external information.

More complex, higher quality animations take more time to produce. So it’s important to find a style that checks the quality and efficiency box and is something that can be done consistently across multiple artists of varying backgrounds and experience.

Yeah we have a lot of animations and attacks and abilities but we also need sounds for all that, the programming support to make sure it’s mechanically functioning properly, the tech anim dept to make sure it’s looking as it should in-game, balancing, textures and patterns, skin system implementation etc.

All these engine versions have systematically given and taken away functionality of so many things it’s hard to keep track of what we can and can’t still do from version to version. Cause keep in mind, we have an unorthodox game. So sometimes the new stuff that’s put out will provide a benefit in one area but take a sledgehammer to our kneecaps in another area.
