The game is extremely difficult to learn at the moment yes. I might reccomend galli instead for a first timer. Beipi keeps you in the water and you have to know the map well

Your gameplay should look like this:

• spawn
• go to sanc (palm trees)
• eat mushrooms until bees sting you and chase you out
• go to migration (footsteps) or patrol (lemons/eyes) and eat there for a bit, then start roaming and exploring and sniffing for more food. Migrations and pz are bugged and wont move like they are supposed to so you are blind exploring for food you can sniff. Eventually you learn where the food is

And as always watch out for other dinos and run

For anyone curious, I've finally set a timer and stayed growing all in one day, and results are in:
A Deinosuchus now takes pretty much exactly 10 hours to grow from 75-100% (as diet no longer plays a part). I do believe that makes it the slowest dinosaur to grow at current time, and having a 3rd gen deino, is a very impressive feat.
(Not shockingly, and maybe a much easier way to test it, 5% deino growth takes almost exactly 2 hours, and you have 5x 5%. So math would have made my stopwatch redundant, but I thought maybe not all % is equal)
It also takes 1½ hour from stomach to go from 100-0.

Here is a point I learned last Ptera grow. Only entomb during the day, because fishing is almost the only way to get fish, and its only available 0430-1830. So, if you entomb at like 1900, you may not be able to wait to use the fishing mechanic.
