Preemptive trike block (do it starting from regular stance not sparring stance somehow this makes a difference) will ACTUALLY block the CC and not put you or Rex in spar-lock, then immediately start the shift+W+LMB click stun into sidestepping and (once again enter regular stance) regular LMB into another sprint LMB, reposition yourself facing the Rex from behind and rinse and repeat.

Best thing for it is to tap sprint into a 90 degree drift and instantly alt-attack to the side to make up for the 180.

It’s relatively quick and deals good damage also catches something that’s committing to attack you off guard cause they think you’re starting to move so won’t alt-swing.

So Rex’s crush attack (not its normal bite) is the issue.

Crush acts as a pin/pounce.

those types of attacks automatically target the body/leg areas no matter what (unless tip tail hits).

So when a Rex crushes the head of a trike, the damage is reduced the correct amount, but the stun and fracture damage acts as if it hits the body/legs. doing full effect.

This should not happen.

There’s frail and prime

Depending on how well you took care of your dinosaur, explored the map and visited different points of interest such as mz and pz, you can achieve a prime elder! Prime elder makes your dinosaur significantly stronger and gives you a fourth mutation
If you don’t get prime, you get frail, where you remain adult stats until about 87% where you get incredibly weaker
Prime gets weaker too as they age, but not as much as frail elders

At 100% you can entomb and spawn again as the same dinosaur and keep your mutations from your previous life! They even improve the more you entomb. I believe you can entomb 3-4 times before the oldest mutations are wiped due to newer ones

I honestly thing strains would be incredibly easy to balance and implement. But... that doesn't mean I expect the devs to successfully pull it off considering how the Elder system has turned out thus far.
