ok i keep seeing this go round and round so here is what we have. THERE IS NO CURRENT FIX FOR THE FATAL ERROR ON LAUNCH

1. Windows 7 is not the issue as people with windows 10 are getting the same error

2. It is not the GPU as people with high end / new GPU’s are getting the error though people with low end GPU are more likely to have the issue.

3. Deleting all game files and reinstalling the game does not work.

4. Verifying game Cache does not work.

5. Updating/installing drivers does not work.

Um im not too sure but maybe if u were on windowed mode u lowered the screen too much. Try pressing f11 and see if itll get bigger

i first went into steam and verified the files and it said they were fine so then i switched to legacy to see if it had the same problem which it didnt so then i switched back to see if evrima would be fixed and it wasnt , then i deleted the game and re installed it and it wasnt fixed so i dont know what to do anymore, it happened after this update

Someone knows how to fix this? The problem is that as a baby deino I have adult texture and eyes crossed into "X". When I grow into adult I am without eyes, blind but look normal instead of a baby. When I was in Stress Testing Branch, the babies and everything looked normal until the update was normally released into Evrima. I tried using a "document" and edit the textures in it and kept rejoining, still the same. When someone said I have to do this and this, I did that, didn't help. hey so i installed the isle 2-3 months ago and theyre is quite the major bug, whenever i play, the dinosaurs gradually disappear from the screen and after 5 mins of playing no dinosaur are visible to me, i can still hear them and collision with players is still present, they can kill me etc but for some reason, dinosaurs and corpses are not showing up, i've looked up the issue everywhere and now one even mentioned the issue so i kinda feel helpless right now. My graphic card is a gti1650 max q and ive never had any similar issues in other games so please if someone has any answer or even if i could get any acknowledgement from the devs that this bug exists it would be highly appreciated, i try to get back to the game every once a while to see if its fixed but nothing has been done yet

we understand there is no fix however the devs have said they are working on other erors in the game not on making it playable first we have not had a dev say they were working on this eror the fact of speaking about somthing does not cause confusion it sheds light on it i understand that this is true but it dosnet help the situation

So here's the thing, and I'll explain this once. If you're using windows 7, or an old GPU below recommended, that's already grounds for us to say, "Upgrade first then we can figure things out". I'm subject to not have to spend weeks figuring out why someone using windows 7 or an old gpu isn't working because it's a preliminary that it wont work anyways. Yes, it was working before, I understand. However this is a fact of game development. Games get newer and harder to run, and if you're not going to upgrade 8-10 year old tech, you're going to get left behind. I will not spend weeks trying to figure out why something is broken for people that don't fit the minimum recommended because it will literally take all the time I have left in my life.

Now am I saying it won't ever be fixed? No. It very well could be and you may not need to upgrade. But the hard truth is this is going to happen more and more and eventually there will be something that cannot be fixed with using 12 year old operating systems that microsoft doesn't even support anymore which is also, by the way, a huge security risk to you.

Anyone that uses windows 7 or a gpu under the minimum recommended needs to upgrade before posting here. So either hold out and wait for a fix that I'm not going to promise will come for those of you who use under the minimum, or try the pinned fixes for a manual uninstall/reinstall. Also yes it has been said that this is being worked on. You can assume it is, this is a developing game. Expect issues and expect fixes. But I'm not guaranteeing a fix for you who don't meet minimum.

Anyone having the following issue and already tried to manually uninstall and reinstall needs to upgrade from Windows 7. It is believed that this OS causes the issue to occur. Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft anyways and it is an OLD Operating System. Also I have found that many people that run windows 10 that have this issue are using below the recommended GPU for The Isle. Please upgrade your system before posting here. There is no known workaround at the moment. A few people DID actually upgrade their gpu and it did fix it for them.
I imagine it's a feature implemented that older GPU's do not have support for. Could be wrong.

As i’ve said before there are people running windows 10 with high end , up to date GPU’s having this error. I believe @woven warren is one of them. even in this chat you can see people using windows 10 simply by looking at the style of window. The best guess we’ve come up with is that it is to do with an asset or assets added to the game in the new update. Most likely the water.

In the process of creating such assets you can mess up certain settings by mistake which causes issues. I’ve had a similar issue in 3D modeling where a friend couldn’t run the asset I had sent him even tho it ran fine on my pc. I ended up scraping it and doing the whole thing again - then it worked.

When you are encountering issues with the escape menu and/or inability to properly use keybinds/controls, try this:

• Press Windows key.

• Type "Run" to launch Run program.

• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.

• Search for TheIsle folder.

• Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located. No adverse effects will take place by deleting this folder, it will reset your keybinds to the correct keys.

Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle

Anyone having the following issue and already tried to manually uninstall and reinstall needs to upgrade from Windows 7. It is believed that this OS causes the issue to occur. Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft anyways and it is an OLD Operating System. Also I have found that many people that run windows 10 that have this issue are using below the recommended GPU for The Isle. Please upgrade your system before posting here. That's just the game right now, it's not ready yet, this patch brought in new water and it seems the devs are still working out the kinks in it, they are working on a hotfix atm hopefully you'll start seeing some FPS improvements.

Been running into an issue lately, with trying to boot up Evrima.. Get to the AE globe screen and then just black screen till it stops responding. Followed the steps in pinned-troubleshooting and still, nothing. Always stops at that black screen. The only thing the -windowed mode thing does, is let me use task manager to exit out and that's about it.
Running on window's 8, with an I7 and 970 GPU, with all my drivers updated and was working just fine before the 3.5 update came out. Verified my files, uninstalled and reinstalled the isle, and also checked my drivers. Nothing.

When I launch the game the screen goes black and after a few minutes the game crashes. I've tried setting it to -windowed mode but it does not help, what should I do?

@hollow violet sorry to bother you, I did as you asked ( late af reply I know ) I do not get the fatal error code like the others, the games still crashes after just loading for a very extended amount of time, I have followed the instructions you gave to no effect, legacy however still works ok at least, I dont know why its happening sadly D:, I can play pretty intensive games on my system and have almost 0 issues running them, I just think this current update is just wack rn, so I guess all I can do is wait and see if it ever gets resolved.

@upper delta if ya wanna solve the issue delete everything that has anything to do with the isle off your computer, then redownload it, so itll redownload a fresh version of the game.

I doubt they are ignoring it, dont forget they lack man power, and this issue is clearly one possibly too big to take on right away, since they probably have yet to pinpoint the issue itself and let alone delegate the time to organize a team to tackle the problem, they are dealing with what they already know within the prospects of the time and manpower available to them... and so will save the most difficult task for last, that way they can perform more fixes swiftly, and then have ALL the attention focused on this major issue.

I am more than willing to sit and wait for them to deal with this problem.

even if it takes half a year, its not like I cant do other things in the mean time, like tending to my animals.

if youre launching the game through steam, whichever version you want to play needs to have the file named The Isle

So I have a folder for legacy called The Isle Legacy, and the evrima called The Isle (and when I browse files through Steam on The Isle [evrima] it sends me to the The Isle folder
