I've had the same issue a lot! One of the things I had to do to get it to stop was setting my GPU to its default settings and the other thing that worked was doing what Krow mentioned above,
May need to fully uninstall and reinstall for a fix to occur. I would recommend doing this after setting your GPU to its default settings and when the game is closed. Try the following if you're willing "Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

Press Windows key.
Type "Run" to launch Run program.
Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
Search for TheIsle folder.
Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

to be honest some private servers run 100x as smooth.

I had this same errors, Krow told me all what i must do, it worked, but some time later error are back, i think because something is "don t like with" my graphic card

You have to starve or dehydrate. Once you hit 0 food or water, it takes 10 minutes for a character to die.
Just log in and AFK basically. It really sucks but it's all we have. You know, since we... don't have a respawn button.

Wasn't sure what could be done, tried to follow some suggested steps a friend asked me to do, from this channel in this discord.
These are the steps I followed: " Press Windows key

Delete the "Saved" folder "
It made things worse.
Now I can't even click "understand" in the isle game before I even click play and log in to the server list.

Just tried reinstalling the whole game...
Still need big time help... can't even play the game...

This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

Press Windows key.
Type "Run" to launch Run program.
Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
Search for TheIsle folder.
Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

i get kicked formt eh server, when i go to the server lsit the server has 0 players and when i relog it brings me up to character selection! which means the ammount of time i spent growing was wasted!

oh nevermind, i relaunched the game and somehow i got my deinosuchus back, too bad spawned on top of a stego that imediatly killed me. So i lost 2 horus of progress anyway. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Since I don't know how to fix that issue I can suggest a couple things.

First try closing the game, and restarting steam.

#

And restart your pc.

Just a quick question if you happened to get banned off a player owned evrima server. Does it tell you that you were banned like a message or does it just simply black screen and put you back at the menu?

No problem, so I asked about the server and it seems it's not related to the server. The owner says, so. It has to be something on your end. If deleting the saved folder didn't fix it, I'm not entirely sure what it could be honestly. I'd say at this point the best bet is wait for a hot fix to fix the controls issues.

Yes I did check it, didn't work either. It seems the keybind is working. The twitching my dino does seems more so that the lay down animation starts but stops itself after a split second

Hey !
I apparently can't turn right. Every other key works fine except "d" to turn right.
I looked at the controls to see if it was a binding problem but there is no option for "move right" that I can bind a key to.

@night rain I occasionally find problems with my controls, and I think it is right as well, for instance my right and jump get swapped. usually if i alt tab and come back it is fixed. the camera sometimes get stuck in a wrong direction as well

Hello, I just wanted to ask for some advice regarding my constant issue of the isle being stuck on windowed mode, when I try to make it go fullscreen it bugs out and I cannot press any button. I also cannot press character, while being any kind of creature, I tried to empty the cache, reinstall, switch to legacy then back to evrima, nothing really works. I'm also stuck on constant 12fps despite legacy running just fine on 60fps, changing the parameterns in nvidia control panel also didn't do nothing. The pinned informations weren't really helpful in my case.

It seems that Steam will try to show servers closer to you. Alternatively, you can use a VPN if you have one. Can’t see any servers? Try checking your Firewall and if it’s doing anything with The Isle. The best thing to do is to add a firewall exclusion for The Isle's folder located within your steamapps directory
Open Steam
Select “STEAM” on the upper left corner
Go to Settings > in-game
Increase the “In-Game Server Browser: Max Pings / minute” value and see if it helps..

reset your system’s Winsock connection settings by opening a Windows command prompt as administrator (go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories, right-click on “Command Prompt” and choose “Run as administrator”) and entering “netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes). Reboot your computer and check if your problem is fixed now.

If you're a Windows 10 user simply type "CMD" into the search bar at the bottom left, right click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator", then continue following the instructions above.

Hey, not the guy you were originally helping but just wanted to chime in because his issue is the exact reason I'm here at the moment. I just tried this solution and it has unfortunately not fixed the problem. Just to provide further context, in Evrima my server select is displaying exactly like his is here aside from the fact that mine is all in English. But if I attempt to join any server that shows a pop of 1/1, absolutely nothing happens aside from hearing the sound effect of hitting the connect button. If I click a 0/1 server it goes into the normal loading screen but will load endlessly and never actually join. I couldn't figure any solution out so I tried switching to the Legacy verson of the game and the server list had a similar issue except it will show the actual player count out of a Max of "1", i.e. 58/1 or 143/1 etc. But in legacy I'm able to select any server and attempt to connect but once I'm succesfully in the game it turns out I'm in a Chinese server. The same Chinese server every time regardless of which server I tried to join. I just switched back to Evrima and I'm back to the original issue. I JUST bought the game yesterday and had no issues from the start with either version, but this problem popped up the very first time I booted up the game today and I can't figure out any kind of work-around

it looks like on the Steam discussion boards there are a lot of people posting the same issue in the past few hours. I noticed after posting here that Steam was attempting to apply an update to the current version of Steam I'm on, which is the Beta Branch. I allowed the update to complete and apply, then tried booting the game again and ended with the same issue. I was wondering if being opted into the Steam Beta Branch itself was causing the issue and I just saw a post that seemed to indicate that may be the issue. I'm going to try leaving the Steam Beta branch and see if that solves the issue. I'll let you guys know if that solves it. Might be the same thing you're trying right now actually @knotty elk

aaaaand that's exactly what it was lol. I'm in-game on Evrima now. After opting out of the Steam Beta and restarting Steam so it could 'update' to the stable build, I was able to boot the game up and the server population display issues are fixed and I was able to join the first server I tried

@quaint cave give it a shot, you might be on the Steam Beta build accidentally or something. Go to your Steam Settings under the Account tab and look at the Beta Participation section. If you're not in the Beta I would go ahead and do like you said and restart afterward.

Every day its a new issue. The amount of issue in a Steam game i have never experienced before in my 10 + years. I dont get it, 1 day it works. One day a Friday you wanna play, you get a issue that Mods has never ever even seen. I lose hope for this shit at this point. And it is not even connected to Evrima, i changed to Legacy and same problem.

I will simply wait and see when the game is functional. Witch also explains why many popular servers are more and more often empty at this point, because people cant have a week without issues or problems

Firstly, global chat is currently a removed feature and player list is not in yet

i have a bug where every server is only allowing 1 player at a time and i am unable to join a server that is empty. but well known servers show the player count as 1/1 and are unjoinable. never seen this before any known fix? found the fix above disregard thank you

Is the current performance requirements more or less indicative of the final product? I can't see any mention of it in the road map. I'm currently getting 15 - 30 fps in Evrima when I used to get 80 - 100 in legacy. I'm just trying to figure out if I should wait for it to get better or if it's a case of the system requirements changing significantly.

For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

Press Windows key.
Type "Run" to launch Run program.
Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
Search for TheIsle folder.
Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

Not sure if this fits but, after launching the game today all servers are showing 1/1 or 0/1 for players/available slots. When I try and join any server it wont connect, and when I do get one to finally connect it just sits on the loading screen until I'm forced to hard quit.

I pretty much only play on isla nublar server and it specific shows like 118 / -126. I dont even know what that negative number means. I have tried about 7 servers an i cannot log into any of them. isla nublar doesnt even try to load when i click connect. The other servers at least go to the loading screen and then just get stuck in a loadjng loop.

Usually its because theres already a full amount of people on the server even tho it doesnt say it. But I have no idea what the negative number sign means.

My issue is kinda unique, as I've been told by people I've spoken to about it ;w; I have a low end pc, a Surface Pro 4, but have been able to play Legacy for literal years without issue, almost since it was made public. Evrima is different. Yes I know, bigger game but hear me out: it runs smooth enough to play, but the map just doesn't load. It will only load one section or World Square before giving up, past that it's endless nothing. If I'm a ptera and I sit on the next square over, bouncing up and down as it tries to figure it out, it might eventually load the next square after 5 or so minutes. I've got the vc run file, I've verified, un installed, messed with settings etc. You could just say "well get a better pc" but 1.my dad will not let me have any other type of computer 2. According to one of the people i talked to its not even my pc that's the issue (also update i just logged on and the amount its deciding to load has gotten even smaller by like 70%)

I think I might be getting a similar issue as above user. I was playing perfectly fine around 3-4 hours ago, logged out safely and closed the game normally.I launched the game about 30 mins later and the servers on the server browser such as (Official, Asura and Teutonic) show the player numbers all wack e.g. 9/-120. As i suspect its a network issue I've reset all my IP settings and still no luck. Uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and the same error persist. I understand if this isn't a priority and will wait however long it'll take to fix. Much love.

If you are experiencing an issue with servers showing 0/1 or 1/1 players or some strange other number, and not their usual caps.
This is believed to be via the current Steam Beta

To fix this!

Opt out of Steam Beta (Select Steam at the top left of steam>Select Settings>Underneath 'Account' select Beta Participation>Select none)
Go to Task manager and force quit Steam
Reopen and you should ok

Found my answer, for anyone wondering the same as me "Added locked health system. After taking damage, a portion of that damage becomes locked from your maximum health, causing scars that take significantly more time to heal. (Sleep, wallow and rest are going to affect this in the future)"

DOwnloaded and installed Evrima. The game loads fine. However, when I click PLAY and the server list is presented, ALL games are indicated as LOCKED. This includes the official servers and Teutonic, Asura and the other mainstream servers. When I filter to the Official server I get the list. However, when I click on the individual server listing, there is no actual 'Select' that occurs. So I cannot connect. Earlier today I COULD select... but the connect went to an infinite loading screen... When I query the server in the Steam server dialog I get "Server is not responding' as the reply message.
FOr the now I am re-installing the game from scrtch but I would like to know what I might do should the condition persist? Thanks.

hey guys so ive got a problem joining some evrima servers.. it seems like the servers which have a "minus" infront of their total server slot number arnt accessible for me and i get the message server full even so it isnt full. but the ones without a minus i can join without a problem. anyone ever had a similar problem and knows how to fix that?

I was flying yesterday, proceeded to safely land on rock, sat there for 5 secs, then I'm teleported back to the sky, flying TI_GalliConfusion luckily for some reason the lag decided to turn me the other way around or I would have crashed into a waterfall xD

For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

Press Windows key.
Type "Run" to launch Run program.
Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
Search for TheIsle folder.
Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

Getting the same error. Please come up with a fix better than uninstalling the game. not everyone has high speed internet so re-downloading can take multiple hours and to find that it doesn't fix the issue anyway is a massive waste of time...

From what I experienced it seems to be an issue with UE4 loading up, since I get the loading screen at the beginning but once it tries to load in the main screen it gets into a weird loop and dies

I removed the WHOLE file in Steam folder and also removed it in localappdata
I reinstalled it and it worked, but the different problem I have is a strange Deinosuchus texture and I am calling it "Vietnam Deino"

Delete your save folder for The Isle. Go to C:\Users(Your pc name)\AppData\Local. Delete the folder that says The Isle. It wont hurt your game. No adverse effects will take place by deleting this folder, it will remake itself once you launch the game again.

Anyone having the following issue and already tried to manually uninstall and reinstall needs to upgrade from Windows 7. It is believed that this OS causes the issue to occur. Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft anyways and it is an OLD Operating System. Also I have found that many people that run windows 10 that have this issue are using below the recommended GPU for The Isle Evrima. Please upgrade your system before posting here. Our answer to any issue you have if it is below recommended will end up being "Upgrade your system". You may have an unstable version of Windows as well, If it's not a GPU under our recommended minimum specs. Try reinstalling Windows if that's the case.

If none of the above works, you likely have too old a GPU and need to upgrade your PC. Evrima is a new game, it has new tech in it, it will not be as easy to run as Legacy. If you find yourself having this specific error, you're likely needing to upgrade your pc, or consider the switch over to Geforce Now, which can run The Isle Evrima very well, depending on which subscription you get.

For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

Press Windows key.
Type "Run" to launch Run program.
Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
Search for TheIsle folder.
Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.
Try that
