For 'Content File locked' errors Either restart your PC>Check your firewall settings>Or make sure The Isle is not running in Task manager before starting.

(1) Right click on the Isle in your steam games list, and click on "Properties"
(2) Click on the tab labeled local files, then click on "BROWSE LOCAL FILES"
(3) This will take you to the game's directory, delete everything in this folder
(4) After deleting, go back to the properties menu and click on "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES"
(5) This will retrieve all of the deleted game files, and reinstall. When you relaunch the game, you should be able to join a server without issue

so basically there is a death trap on the map. It looks like an underwater cave. I was looking for food and there were lots of corpses in there. If you find yourself getting booted back to the menu after attempting to join a stress test server it's likely because the server is full, even if the playercount says otherwise. That's because of the sheer amount of users attempting to connect to these servers, resulting in the playercounts not displaying the correct number immediately

Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar.
Type %LOCALAPPDATA% in there and open your %LOCALAPPDATA% folder.
Search for TheIsle folder and delete it. It'll regenerate a fresh version when you relaunch the game.

If you're playing the QA build you can't join any other servers. Only the stress test servers.

Look through the dev blogs for a title that says "Want both versions of the isle without downloading" or somehting like that, although it is quite complecated if your not used to pcs

If the server has one or 2 slots you have quite a low chance of getting onto it, 1 second can be the difference between you and someone else getting onto it
Because lots of people are trying to get onto a server at once

A 1660 is more than enough to run The Isle and I don't see any reason it would cause you to disconnect, if you are disconnecting constantly then it could be your internet. You can try to verify your game files and see if that helps.

Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

I'm unable to play deino, all my spawns are at the time "0" and I'm not able to click on Southeast, South, Center and all of the other spawns for Deino.
I have already tried spawning in on multiple other dinos, and I've restarted my PC.

how do you guys join evrima servers? I'm sitting here refreshing steam servers, getting the latest info on when somebody leaves a server and trying to join at literally less than a seconds time at no avail.... Funny seeing number pop up 115+/110 on steam server and knowing there there's a bunch of other people trying to connect asap to the same server and failing... Sooo how do you guys actually get on them servers? 3rd day trying for hours without any success.

yeah I'm not sure Shiro. I'm trying to join through steam as well and have it set to auto-retry. I keep hearing a noise like it's joining a server and then nothing happens. the game info window disappears too

Secondly yes, re logging is a known fix for that, I say 'usually' fixes because this is an unstable version of the game meant for seeing if the servers can handle a load of players.

Iv'e been trying to get into any of them all day but every time i try to join one when it says theres space i get put back to the main menu even though when i go back theres still room available. If you find yourself getting booted back to the menu after attempting to join a stress test server it's likely because the server is full, even if the playercount says otherwise. That's because of the sheer amount of users attempting to connect to these servers, resulting in the playercounts not displaying the correct number immediately
Alternatively you may be on the wrong branch, if that's the case then see "Branch selection".

it might be looked at once bigger dinosaurs are added, but as it stands deino technically can 1 shot everything except for stegos above 80% and other deinos

I can't get in the server whatsoever, even when using Steam to look at the server count. Closest I get is it starting to load in, black screen for a bit, and then back to main page. I'm concerned if it's not that I'm just unlucky but that I literally can't get in because of some bug or something?

you have to download evrima when you swap to it in the beta branch, but its possible to keep the legacy installation separate. theres guides on youtube

Your loading screen has to go black and your mouse has to disapear for you to load in and as a dienosuchus don't spawn south.
And if it sends you back to the menu it is because there are thousands of other poeple trying to get on the server so someone gets on before you

Hey guys, I'm trying to play the quality assurance branch and my textures keep defaulting to "epic" no matter how many times I set it to a lower setting and hit apply. I've tried restarting the game multiple times and every time I launch the game it defaults back to epic. Any idea how I can fix this problem? Am I required to adjust it in the config file or..?
I'm struggling with it because my pc can run it at those settings, but I'm using a temporary gpu which will overheat to 95+ and crash my entire pc if it gets overworked, so I have to undershoot the level of graphics power my pc would normally be capable of.

Alright thanks. That's exactly what I was thinking. It's super weird because the other values carried over into the config perfectly, but it's seemingly picking a totally random value for the textures every time I launch the game.

you might not be able to see them depending on where you are, try ticking "Hide empty" and/or adjusting the max pings/minute setting in steam
even then, if youre not in australia the ping will be super high

I deleted my config file and it deleted all of my settings (as expected) so I reset everything how I wanted, and my textures are still defaulting to "epic" exactly the same way.

GeForce experience says the game is set below "optimal" settings based on my hardware (obviously not factoring the heating issue) and it's showing the settings I selected, which aren't actually being used on the game.

Okay so I believe I found the issue.
It appears like there are various hidden settings in the game which are all tied to the "textures" option in the graphics settings. If I had to guess I'd say it was either "shading" or "foliage quality" which was causing the issue, but I just set them all to 1 so they'd be roughly equal and it worked. The game now says "medium" for the textures, and it's not locked to medium the same way it was previously locked to epic.

Yes I think so. I set multiple at once so I'm not sure exactly which one(s) did the trick.
My goal was to set all my settings to medium and it appears like I succeeded.

Servers being down and being stuck are not troubleshooting steps.
If servers are down, you can @ punch about it, but don't spam.
If you're stuck, that's tough luck because server admins aren't moderating the servers for this test.
