If you want to force your textures to something lower/higher you can try open up GameUserSettings.txt which you can find in C:/users/youruser/AppData/Local/TheIsle/Saved/Config/WindowsClient/GameUserSettings.txt.

Scroll down and look for [ScalabilityGroups]

In there you will find sg.TexturesQuality=x Set that to a lower/higher number.

Low= 0, Medium= 1, High= 2, Epic= 3, Cinematic= 4.

Search for TheIsle folder and delete it. It'll regenerate a fresh version when you relaunch the game.

It seems that Steam will try to show servers closer to you. ~~Alternatively, you can use a VPN if you have one. ~~Can’t see any servers? Try checking your Firewall and if it’s doing anything with The Isle. The best thing to do is to add a firewall exclusion for The Isle's folder located within your steamapps directory

Select “STEAM” on the upper left corner
Go to Settings > in-game
Increase the “In-Game Server Browser: Max Pings / minute” value and see if it helps..

I have had some problems connecting to the quality assurance branch servers, i find a server with 1 or two slots free, try to join and it just goes back to menu, i tried this for like half an hour straight the other day with no sucessful results, im not sure if im unlucky or not but has anyone else experienced this?

after you make sure these files are in your game directory, if the error still comes up just spam the ok button on the error a few times and it will load. For me this error appears everytime a new player joins the server (including yourself at the start)

I saw this topic come up again a few lines prior, so this is more of an update on a mapped issue.

I cannot join servers as well, I try Stress Test for my region and it kicks me back to the intro screen and the "I understand" box. It would be helpful to have a msg box letting me know it was full, rather than guessing it was full and not some random error.

I will try again another time to see if I can login, have to wait the majority of people to go to sleep though.

If you're getting fatal errors you should be manually uninstalling and reinstalling your game. That means completely removing all files of The Isle from your computer.

also d3d device being lost is a gpu error.. most of the time
Check your gpu updates, make sure you've got the recommended computer parts

That's a gtx 960 fellas anything worse and you're not guaranteed to be playing the game without errors.

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > and delete TheIsle folder located there. It'll regenerate a fresh version when you relaunch the game

@crimson oak If you want to force your textures to something lower then what it currently is and it's not working through the in-game menu. You can try open up GameUserSettings.txt which you can find in C:/users/youruser/AppData/Local/TheIsle/Saved/Config/WindowsClient/GameUserSettings.txt. Scroll down and look for [ScalabilityGroups]

In there you will find sg.TexturesQuality=x Set that to a lower/higher number

I will now rewrite Amarok's texture quality change and make it better

To manually change your texture settings for those who cannot do so in game, do the following:

1. Press Windows key.

2. Type "Run" and launch Run program.

3. Type in %localappdata%\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini (copy and paste) and click 'Ok'.

4. Find sg.TexturesQuality=x and set X to a lower/higher number (see below on what number equals what)

5. Press CTRL S (Save it)

0=low, 1=medium, 2=high,3=epic, 4=cinematic

Note = If you find that the in-game settings don't change after doing this, you have to change all of the settings except "ResolutionQuality" to one number. (AKA all of them have to be 0, or 1, or 3.)

If you find yourself getting booted back to the menu after attempting to join a stress test server it's likely because the server is full, even if the playercount says otherwise. That's because of the sheer amount of users attempting to connect to these servers, resulting in the playercounts not displaying the correct number immediately
