@hollow violet well, when the patch that introduced the attack came it just didn´t work at all for me. I could look around with alt no problem but attacking while doing so just did a normal attack without any direction changing.
That beeing said, when I first started playing evrima I did change my controls slightly, by putting Z walk on Y (cause qwertz keyboard).
Now, after deleting the saved folder in %appdata% and starting the game up anew it works. Deleting that folder set everything back to default so I guess that fixed it. Hope this helps?

It seems that Steam will try to show servers closer to you. Alternatively, you can use a VPN if you have one. Can’t see any servers? Try checking your Firewall and if it’s doing anything with The Isle. The best thing to do is to add a firewall exclusion for The Isle's folder located within your steamapps directory
Open Steam
Select “STEAM” on the upper left corner
Go to Settings > in-game
Increase the “In-Game Server Browser: Max Pings / minute” value and see if it helps..

Simply clicking uninstall and reinstall may not work, you will have to manually completely delete the isle from your pc. Update your video card drivers, update windows. If none of the above works, you may have to wait for a fix considering it is a beta and is subject to not work for some.

To fix alt attack for utah: find the folder %appdata%/local/the isle. In there you have a folder called "saved" By deleting that folder the games settings get reset to default. If you start the game afterwards the attack should work but youll have to redo any graphicsettings you might have done before

My max pings per minute is at 5000, my VPN in the US. My game only opens in german and only gives me european servers. I tried to switch branches several times to re-install but it doesn't fix it either. I am honestly lost at this point as to what else I could possibly do. I don't have an antivirus/firewall software either so this couldn't be the issue.

if you select "hide empty" in the server finder you can override region lock if the servers in other regions are populated by at least 1 person, kinda sad but it works

Okay, try making an exception for the isle on your firewall first off. Then update your video drivers, and after that try reinstalling the game. Then restart your pc. After doing all of that try again and see if that works for you.

How to switch between Evrima and Legacy without downloading each time:
- Switch to legacy
(if you're already in legacy skip this step) - Make a new folder under SteamLibrary>Steam apps>Common
(You should see all your other steam games listed here. I called my new folder Legacy) - Copy the entire contents of "The Isle" folder into that new folder
- Pin theisle.exe from inside that folder to your taksbar
(right click theisle.exe it and pin to your taskbar) - Switch to evrima branch
(evrima version will become the one on your desktop)
You should now be able to play both versions without downloading/installing each time you switch and evrima will still receive updates through steam.

If your GPU is overclocked, even from the factory, set it to stock clocks. Unreal Engine doesn't like GPU overclocks. I've seen this before on this game and others.

The error 149 used to appear for me upon choosing a server, because of which, I could not access the game at all. I followed the steps of verifying the file integrity etc which solved my issue (hooray!). I now get the error ingame which causes my game to crash. I usually can't go 30 minutes without the error message appearing and the game crashing.~ Has anyone come up with a solution for this?

im not sure if this is a bug or am i just too new to evrima xD but i tried playing as dryo, i got attacked by utah, and i could see his name after they attacked, as if we were grouped. there was no way of escaping, cause im pretty sure he also saw my name and they tailed me so well in thick vegetation and crossing water and all. Is this supposed to happen or what was this?

This might be a longshot but maybe The error where it says "some render got deleted before it existed" or something along the lines, forgot the number of the error, is linked to the way to high uptime of official servers. They just don´t restart them. Currently EU4 is running around 32 hours and counting. They need to restart that stuff at least once every 24 hours, maybe twice.
I never had that error in many hours of playtime but right now it comes up every 5 to 10 minutes, making it unplayable for me

Okay so I just posted a bug issue report but I'd like to know if theres a dev or someone out there who knows what I need to do to fix this proble..
I decided to plug in my gaming controller to my gaming laptop in order to play the game with it. When I found out that I didn't have a way to USE or REST, I decided to change those manually in the in game settings to an empty button on the controller that didn't appear to be of use to the game. When I tried swapping them back to their original E and H keys on my keyboard, it wouldn't allow me to do that. The game (in a way) glitched and didn't change. I reset my PC, I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Please someone help me out, I really enjoy the game.

Hi! So I just redownloaded evrima, and I'm experiencing a couple issues from the title screen. First, my cursor isn't lined up with the game. My cursor has to be above and to the right of a button before I'm able to select it. I thought this may have been an issue with the game automatically being on full screen, so I went into the settings. This brings me to my second problem. I've selected "windowed fullscreen" and clicked "apply". I waited for the cooldown. Nothing changed, and I found that closing out of settings and reopening them that my settings changes didn't actually save (my windows settings were back to the default fullscreen)
I'm hoping my cursor issue is linked with the settings one, but any help to fix either issue would be really appreciated

Kiwi the UI issue is related to the resolution the game is set to I believe. Setting it to your monitor's resolution or to one that keeps the same aspect ration and the problem should fix itself. As for the second one, I'd checked the pinned troubleshooting guide and seeing if you find anything. Most likely you need to delete your config file or something along those lines

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? If I try logging into any Evrima server, it inevitably times out and boots me back to the main screen and gives me the "Greetings Islanders!" window, and if I try again then all it tells me is Data Acquisition Failed. It does this for any and all of the servers.

@desert hornet my friend helped me out with this JUST now-- you right-click The Isle in your Steam library, go to Properties, and under General you click "set launch options" and type "-fullscreen" with the hyphen, and presto!!

I suppose this is technically more of a bug report rather than troubleshoot, but the evrima bug reports channel is on read only. My attack keybinds have somehow glitched to always be set as "W" no matter what key I press. I tried resetting to no avail, and I cannot attack in game.

Yeah to add on deleting the config file (or at least opening and checking it to make sure the values are setting correctly) could fix the issue if changing the resolution and render scale in the menu don't seem to be working properly

For the hell of it Virgil, try deleting the whole Isle Steam directory (right click on isle in Steam, properties, browse local files, back up one, delete whole "The Isle" folder) and then going into your AppData/Local folder (type %appdata% into file explorer, backing up one, going into Local) and deleting the "TheIsle" folder in there as well. Then make sure to clear your recycle bin, and then try reinstalling the game completely from Steam. It's no guarantee but if you've already redownloaded then trying one more time might not hurt.
If you don't get the option to redownload it in Steam after that (it still says play) then you'll need to uninstall it in Steam after you've done that and then reinstall. But I'm not sure if that'll be an issue or not

The only thing I can suggest for now until they fix these issues are to 1: Use a VPN for the area your friends are in

It seems to work for some and not for others. I suggested someone completely remove it from Steam and then cleared out the local appdata folders and they still experienced the crash.

I can really only suggested checking your gpu drivers to be updated, windows updates, make sure you have necessary files to play ALL games. Try playing a different UE4 game, see if that doesn't work either, if not, you may be missing essential Unreal Engine 4 files. It's really hard to tell from here without physically seeing your PC and it's software.

I got a fatal error pop up and the game crashed but when I look for help they say to delete all the files when you go to browse local files, this is more of a question but if I delete all of the things there it deletes the isle application and engine and stuff will it all come back when I verify the game files or no?

@unreal anvil You can use the key F10 to remove the HUD from your screen but a watermark is placed in the top right corner. Also not too sure what the two lower letters means.
@waxen dawn That's not a troubleshooting issue. Troubleshooting deals more with technical stuff, your incident is more of an in-game problem which is more than likely being fixed in a future update.
@granite sable Make sure your cloud synchronization is enabled. You can do this by clicking Steam on the top left of the application, go down to Settings, in the tabs to left of the pop up box select Cloud and enable cloud synchronization. If that doesn't work try verifying your files via steam. Right click the Isle in your game library, go down to properties, select Local Files and below select verify integrity of game files.
@brittle flint Deleting files manually removes all files related to the game. Verifying files makes sure the necessary files needed to run are game are present. If you are experiencing crash related issues, manually deleting files helps in most cases.

Which error are you experiencing exactly? If it's the [Line: 149] FRenderResoource, a manual reinstall should work. Most Fatal Errors are file related, so removing everything within your folders resets the game's installation entirely. In some cases, Fatal Errors can be hardware related meaning some of your drivers may be out of date and overall interfering with how the game runs. Make sure all your drivers are up to date.

This sounds familiar, it may have happened to me a couple of times. The only fix I came across was restarting the game, also did some research and seems others came across this issue fairly recently, using your 1 call is a potential solution, leaving and rejoining the server is another. It could also just be a server side issue but I would recommend reporting it in #732251429082759249. Try and replicate the issue that way it's easier to pinpoint the source of the bug.

This has been an issue since evrima's initial launch, try joining an empty server. If the same issue occurs, restarting is the only known solution as of now unfortunately. Some servers may still have not been updated as well.

You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

A friend of mine can't find a specific server or 2. we have tried to set the minutes etc. But still is unabl to find those servers even with 1000 times of refreshing. Any other tips?
- Adjust your Steam In-Game server browser: Max pings / minutes.
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.

If you want to force your textures to something lower then what it currently is and it's not working through the in-game menu. You can try open up GameUserSettings.txt which you can find in C:/users/youruser/AppData/Local/TheIsle/Saved/Config/WindowsClient/GameUserSettings.txt. Scroll down and look for [ScalabilityGroups]

Hey, Im having some issues with my game. I just installed the Evrima branch to test out the new update and the default language isnt English (for me it is in Portuguese).
There's no in-game language settings and the game doesn't recognize/accept Steam's language settings, which I have already tried to set to English.
This is rather bothersome because not only I always play my games in English (even though I'm Portuguese), but also because the Portuguese translation is incomplete, so 70% of the stuff is in English whilst the rest is in broken Portuguese or Brazillian Portuguese.

turns out the 11/50 server was actually full. so it kicked me from the server but doesnt have a message saying why, so it just kicks you to the main message. BUuuut after that, you cant join any servers at all beyond that point. so you have to restart the game and hope you have better luck picking a server next time.

I have been trying to play the new update since this morning. Every time I try, everything goes as normal for 5 seconds until my entire computer crashes. When I restart the computer, it sends me to the bios screen of all things, which has terrified me all day because I keep thinking my SSD somehow got damaged, even though everything boots up normally afterword's. I have never experienced this problem before with this game. I could really use some help with this problem.

For some reason, EVRIMA springs an error message on my Twitch Studio app when attempting to stream, but this doesn't happen with Legacy or any other games. My streamers also see "error code 2000", and they have to refresh the stream's page after I close EVRIMA before they can return. Any troubleshooting ideas or settings that I can tweak to get my EVRIMA stream working? Thanks!

You might have to reset your bindings then, as there are some actions missing for some people. If you jump to the newest pinned message and then scroll down a little you'll see Amarok's solution to it

It's most likely because that's a QA server. A majority of the time the QA server will be on a more recently updated version of the game. More than likely they've pushed an update to test fixes on that server and it's out of version. Check the server version and then your game version (which can be found on the main menu) to see if they're different. If it's different, you won't be able to connect
If they're the same there's also the slight possibility that they either didn't update the server version, or it could actually be a connection issue. In which case you should attempt to join another server anyways and see if the issue persists

@tawdry briar Right click on the isle in steam, hit properties, hit the Local Files tab, and then hit the Browse Local Files... button. Should take you right to the folder that the exe is in.

i was looking for any other way to improve fps without having my render scale at 10 which makes the game unplayable, sadly that didn't improve at all

So, some things are pixel-y (foliage mainly) and I'm not sure how to fix it. FXAA doesn't help and TAA makes it look like I have motion blur on. Is there anything I can do for this?
I might've actually fixed this by changing the render scale.

Making sure your resolution is set to your monitor's native resolution, setting render resolution to 100%, setting anti-aliasing to something other than low (higher is better), and using TAA is the best you can do to reduce aliasing (which is that pixelness you're talking about). FXAA is a faster method of anti-aliasing which works, but it works significantly worse than TAA does.

If it's a UE problem, you may need to reinstall the game.
If you've tried the following, then reinstall for sure. Shut game down, check for update on your GPU driver, restart computer, shut down computer for 5 minutes, then try again

Hi everyone! I got another issue... I can't stop the spit attack from the hypsi. I am only told: press "Unassigned" to cancel. I once compared the settings with a friend and he had the cancel button for "reload". This is not even shown in the settings for me. Means reloading is not even displayed to me. I am also missing other key assignments ... I have already checked the files for errors via Steam. To no avail ... does anyone have a solution?

FPS going from 180 to 8 every 0.5-0.75 seconds according to the in game fps counter. When it briefly hits 8 it feels like everything freezes just for long enought to hit a tree or fail to dodge an attack. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

Almost unplayable since last update. Once I spawned/logged into a server, it takes extremely long for the world around me to load in, meanwhile my model just floats there for several long minutes. Very bad lag most of the time, and when it does run alright, the sound is extremely laggy, especially if I happen to tab out and back into the game.
I can't change my resolution properly since everything gets blurry and very ugly.
Graphic settings also partially reset randomly, changing them doesn't do anything.
Didn't have any these issue with legacy or evrima before this.
Also very bad FPS jumps. It's 50 or 30, then 12 or 8 in the next second.

After having some trouble with the new update, I reinstalled my game. Now this comes up. The update is at 100% but the game carries on 'Finalizing' and then eventually returns back to it's 'Resume' phase

On Steam if you click on the tiny Steam text in the top left corner you'll get a dropdown menu. At the bottom of that menu it says Exit, which should completely close steam. Just do that and then wait for a few minutes and then reopen @hollow vigil
But using task manager that bootstrapper should also be what you need to close to close steam if I'm not mistaken. I just know that doing the exit method is through steam without the need for task manager
