I have done everything except uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Now "Steamworks Common Redistributables" keeps showing up as an update for The Isle and after it downloads I get the fatal error crash when trying to launch the game. But I also can't launch without downloading the steamworks. (don't forget to check the pinned-troubleshooting guys!)

If your steam is stuck at the download , navigate to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\downloading
And delete everything. Relaunch your download.

dumb question incoming. does this work as well if your download on steam showed it was completed but is now continuously validating...over and over again....? *laughs nervously *

I can’t connect to the servers?!?! Data acquisition going on forever.
Servers are getting overloaded right now, to many people trying to connect at once. There is 10k people playing the isle currently and everyone is trying to get on a server. While there is only 50 servers showing up currently.

personal fix for data processing issue with servers: each time i want to join a server i need to restart my game. if you don't join first selection you probably will just process data forever. restart and try again

So my friend owns a server and she can't see it on the list, even though the rest of us can. Is there anyway to fix this? The same thing happened to me earlier with a random server, it appears certain servers just wont show up for certain people?

I haven't been made aware of the black screen fix. But if you can reset your resolution settings to what they were before you changed them and they broke that could fix it

The blurring is possibly the LOD's and you should put in feedback how you feel about them.

I've tried everything too and my screen is still black when i launch the game. like it shows the part where it loads the AE symbol then a few secs then the screen goes black but i can hear the sounds of the main screen still. all this happened after i changed the graphic settings to fullscreen.

y'ALL I made a video and posted it in the videos and streams channel for people who can't launch the game. I also show you how to unzip the vcruntime folder and use it to fix the issue. It took me a while to figure it out myself and now I'm trying to help other people who can't do computer files.

@winged swift you have to do a 100% clean uninstall and reboot
right click the isle in your library, go to properties then browse local files, delete everything in the folder, then uninstall the game. reinstall the game on the evrima branch then restart your computer and it should work

@near basin & @cedar forge try turning off firewall then join a server, then exit the game and turn firewall on again. Make sure you allow app through firewall. I had your same problem

@frosty charm issue is game maximum shows 50 servers on serverlist, as an example asuras servers are hidden out of it rn. They’re working on patch to increase this

@tropic mica go to settings and make sure screen resolution matches your pc screen resolution. change render scale to 100% if that doesn't fix it it will continue to be blurry for now

Following Problems i've had

When you spawn, you spawn in the air and then it takes about 5-15 seconds to put you on the beach
The sky has a whole bunch of blue stuff swirling around in it
Night time bug, I've logged, reinstalled, all there , changed a bunch of settings still there.

The fix for being stuck at data acquisition is related to firewall. Try running with firewall off. Try to add additional .exes to the list of allowed apps thru firewall

for screen resolution issues, if it looks a little blurry that's just how it is right now as render scale seems to be locked at 66.67% you can set it to 100% but it will likely not change anything. as for the size of your screen make sure the settings are all on epic and your game resolution matches your screen resolution

like Data Acquisition or 8 FPS you should find all the solutions posted already.
Also check pins.
the last 10 slots on every a server are ADMIN ONLY if a server says 0 its probably broken
if you get stuck on Data Acquisition for more than 30 seconds, relaunch your game EVERY TIME. if your game is Nighttime, Blurry, or 8 FPS, try going to the main menu and "reset settings" under settings. You cannot do this in a server and setting resolution manually to 100 (might not work)

@thin oracle It's caused by being forcefully disconnected. So if you join a full server (Full ones are 10 less from the cap, like 50/60 players) it will cause it

FOR EVERYONE GETTING STUCK ON DATA ACQUISITION if you get sent to the home screen restart the game every time. Only try to join servers with less than 50 ppl. If you crash or get any error always restart the game and try again. If u get sent to home screen try a new server next time. If it’s taking a long time to get in you need to restart ur game and try a dif server @spark shadow

When I use scent, I see the compass at the top but not the particles to find water and food. I've updated all my drivers, I've updated to the current windows, I believe I have done everything, unless I have missed something ^^' (the character button is grayed out and insert doesn't work). @thin oracle @high gulch Restart game. Servers showing 10 less from the cap (50/60 Players for example) are full and will bug your game.

I can't actually join any servers? I click join and it sends me back to the main menu then I try again and I get stuck on the data acquisition in progress screen for over 30 minutes!

@junior mist you're not close enough to food or water if you cannot smell it.
If you spawned in Starving, Dehydrating, and no stam, your scent just doenst work at all.

if ALL of you go up to the top Right of your Discord App and SEARCH your problems
like Data Acquisition or 8 FPS you should find all the solutions posted already.
Also check pins.
-the last 10 slots on every a server are ADMIN ONLY
-if a server says 0 its probably broken
-if you get stuck on Data Acquisition for more than 30 seconds, relaunch your game EVERY TIME.
-if your game is Nighttime, Blurry, or 8 FPS, try going to the main menu and "reset settings" under settings(Do not edit settings). You cannot do this in a server. then Setting resolution manually to 100 and clicking apply (might not work)
-CHECK PINS
Also this document that a very nice person made has a crap ton of bug fixes in it.

@fathom sable FOR PEOPLE TRYING TO GET INTO SERVERS if you get sent to the home screen restart the game every time. Only try to join servers with less than 50 ppl. If you crash or get any error always restart the game and try again. If u get sent to home screen try a new server next time. If it’s taking a long time to get in you need to restart ur game and try a dif server

Before you post a question, check pinned messages as there's a large chance it's already been answered there.
If you can't get past the data acquisition in progress message try relaunching your game every 30 seconds. If that doesn't work try joining a server with very few people in it. It took me a few tries but it did end up working for me.

@fickle onyx someone on steam found a fix for the game not being able to start when pressing "play" on steam. U gotta update ur Visual C++. Mentioning that cuz lots of ppl writing they can't start the game. This worked for me as well

FOR THOSE WITH THE VISUAL GLITCH MAKING ALL STATS EMPTY
-Close your game completely, when you rejoin, click the opposite dino that you were and rejoin the server.
-You will not lose your dino from doing this.
-Example: You have the visual glitch as a Tenonto. Close the isle and choose Utah, then rejoin the server you were on.

My Game wont load at all??My Game Crashes when I try to start it.
Check Pinned TroubleShooting (Especially if you are having a VCRUNTIME140_1.dll issue) and follow those directions, if that does not work try verifying files, if that doesn’t work, try updating graphics card, if that doesn’t work, try restarting computer, if that doesn’t work try a fresh install (After deleting EVERYTHING).

I'd just like to say that legacy performs better than evrima for me

FOR THOSE TRYING TO GET INTO SERVERS
-If you get sent to the home screen restart the game every time. Try to join a different server next time.
-Only try to join servers with less than 50 ppl.
-If you crash or get any error always restart the game and try again.
-If it’s taking a long time to get in you need to restart ur game and try a different server.
FOR THOSE WITH THE VISUAL GLITCH MAKING ALL STATS EMPTY
-Close your game completely, when you rejoin, click the opposite dino that you were and rejoin the server.
-You will not lose your dino from doing this.
-Example: You have the visual glitch as a Tenonto. Close the isle and choose Utah, then rejoin the server you were on.

I've checked pins, and the doc, but none of the answers are applicable to my situation. after refreshing the game every few moments for 20 minutes, I can not find the server that My friends are currently playing on. I've attempted to connect directly by inputting the IP in steam, however that is also not showing the server after launch.

Cant start the game and i have tried all the following:
Check Pinned TroubleShooting (Especially if you are having a VCRUNTIME140_1.dll issue) and follow those directions, if that does not work try verifying files, if that doesn’t work, try updating graphics card, if that doesn’t work, try restarting computer, if that doesn’t work try a fresh install (After deleting EVERYTHING).

I find when I am running the game it works fine if I join a server that has some people already in it (don't pick the servers with 0 people in them or full) and wait, it'll freeze for a moment and then I am in. That is how I know I am able to get into the server. If it doesn't do that and is just stuck on the Accusation screen, close the game and relaunch. Might not work for all but it may work for some?

@magic widget To join a server you need to fine one that isn't full. As of right now the cap shows 10 less than what is possible. (50/60 Players)
To change species, select what you want to be and kill your animal in-game. (Drowning/being hunted)

sooo our server runs really good. we had 80 players on it and it started to lag but i think thats a great result for patchday 🙂 btw. EVRIMA is beautiful!!! <3

Also check pins.
-the last 10 slots on every a server are ADMIN ONLY
-if a server says 0 its probably broken
-if you get stuck on Data Acquisition for more than 30 seconds, relaunch your game EVERY TIME.
-if your game is Nighttime, Blurry, or 8 FPS, try going to the main menu and "reset settings" under settings (Do not edit settings after this, they must stay at epic.). You cannot do this in a server. then Setting resolution scale manually to 100 and clicking apply (might not work)
-CHECK PINS

Stormy, close the game and relaunch. If it takes longer than 30 seconds you aint connecting and need to restart the game.

so i uninstalled the isle and deleted the isle folder then reinstalled the isle and yes as the beta and restartd my computer, had trouble launching so i did the browse local files and there is no Isle.exe

Delete all files relating to the island manually! Then, via stim
It helped me. The game starts even without a file, which was offered by the developers.
Before that, nothing helped me! It - helped!

@thin oracle If it isnt changing the best I can suggest is trying to work with what you got until they have a patch that focuses on adding more options for settings. Settings have not working properly at the moment.

download the file, and then click the downloaded file (it should appear down the bottom of ur screen) then open up your local files for the isle, then drag the downloaded vcruntime140 into the local files ^^

If anyone is having trouble when they press press play but it stops here is was you can do
Right click the isle in steam - click properties - local files - browse local files
Then go into #pinned-troubleshooting - download vcruntime140 - bring the file into the file that you opened from steam - and it should work it should look like this

The "Data Acquisition" thing is a bug. Exit the game completely and reload. Should go away for 1 try per kick from server. So when you get kicked, you need to exit and reload every time until they get the bug spray out. If you are immediately kicked from a server, then it's probably just full even though it doesn't say so.

If anyone is having trouble when they press press play but it stops here is was you can do
Right click the isle in steam - click properties - local files - browse local files
Then go into #pinned-troubleshooting - download vcruntime140 - bring the file into the file that you opened from steam - and it should work it should look like this

@proper wind it's "insert". Ya may need to turn off "NumLk" and hit "0" on the key pad for yours. It can be in a weird spot some times on the keyboard.

I can get on a server but after like 15 minutes it kicks me out and then I cant log on to a single server for the whole day. Even if I try restart the pc and close the isle with task manager. it keeps just sending me back to menu

Guys if you get this error, try starting steam as Admin. That helped me get to the server browser ingame. Once i try to join a server it kicks me back to the main menu though. Hopefully it gets fixed soon

Are the settings fixed yet? Meaning if you change them on the menu do they actually stay ingame now? I had my rendering at 100 but it’s extremely blurry when ingame.

@junior mist you're not close enough to food or water if you cannot smell it. If you spawned in Starving, Dehydrating, and no stam, your scent just doenst work at all.
