Okay Guys if you have the Data Acquisition, I have been testing for a lil over an hour and I found a solution- 1- You will not be able to connect if the Server is 10 under full I.E. 50/60 is full you wont be able to connect, but 45/60 you will be able to connect 2- The high server caps have a low chance of connecting I.E. a 60 server will connect far more often than a 110 server, even then... 3- Don't sit there for more than a minute, if you sit there for more than a minute it will either crash or never let you in. 4- If it kicks you back to "Hello Islanders!" just try and try again, it is random whether you will be able to connect at all 5- If you are kicked more than once, logout and quit the game, then reopen, it should refresh your queue 6- If you finally get in and you see the infamous blue squares, I am not kidding when I say this... SPAM EVERY POSSIBLE CONTROL BUTTON, Chat a few times, call out, spam Insert, click around everywhere, then it might render your Character, if not, Alt F4 and try all over again. 7- Once you can run around, and the server doesn't crash, sit and wait, then your stats will fill in and hopefully your grow will start working as well... That is everything I have figured out over the past hour... Go Ahead and DM me If you have more questions, BEWARE- I am not an all knowing god and I still am in the dark about why these bugs are happening, If you have more specific questions I am NOT the man to ask... Thank you Devs, I Unironically love EVRIMA and I understand you are getting overwhelmed and this isn't your fault, or what you intended, keep up the good work Devs!!!

Yo did they region lock envrima? I can't see any of the servers my friend sees and he can't see any of the servers I see, but he sees official NA and I see official EU.

Guys please just go to bed or something. Come back tomorrow. Even if you get your game to boot up, you got like a 10% chance of actually getting onto a server, and only a 5% chance of getting onto a server without your gameplay being bugged. Devs have already said they will be adding more servers tonight and add a hotfix.

This is really started to piss me off.
I did vcrunchtime shit, did everything it asked me to do, first of all, when I right click and go to extract, it’s all a faded gray and I can’t click on anything, does that mean it has already BEEN extracted or it CANT? Is it supposed to say dll or just 1-1? Am I supposed to put it in The Isle’s folder, extract it which hell again I can’t do, then remove it or keep it in there?
I deleted the Manifest text files.
I’ve uninstalled the game reinstalled it doing the same thing as it tells me to, YET I STILL CANT OPEN IT UP.

Update: I finally get booted to the menu, I also forgot to mention that there doesn't seem to be any growth. This is how you get in if you fixed the start up problem, 1. if you're currently having the database thing, restart the game, 2. go to settings and lower your settings, medium is reccomended, with a render scale of 100%, hit apply then back out. and finally 3. choose your dino and once you get into the server selection, choose a server with fewer than 10 people less than the server max capacity, and Boom your in, if you have the darkness or damage ui glitches, ignore them you're fine.

The max amount of servers displayed is 50. Regions seem to affect which servers you see and which you don't. Hypno said there will be a fix for that in the next patch which will be released in the next couple of hours. @steady forge

I'm playing in 5120 x 1440 and to get the proper screen ratio (32:9) I need to be in Borderless Window. That's no problem at all but I have to keep the overall Render Scale at 75% to achieve 80+ FPS. If I put the RS above my FPS automatically drop to 8 - not more, not less... Everything is super-smooth on Cinematic quality with RS below 75%. I go over and... it's over.... 😦 Any ideas?

FOR STUCK LOADING SCREEN & GETTING KICKED OUT OF SERVERS: Make sure you go into a server with very few people. If you try to get into fuller server, it will just boot you out. If you do get sent back to the main menu after trying to get into a server, you have to restart the game. If you try to get into a server again without restarting the game, you'll get stuck on the loading screen forever.

You need to install the .dll file, then put it in The Isle files, then you need to Verify the Files of The Isle, play a server, if the server kicks you do the same thing. Hope you!

Troognathus: Update: I finally get booted to the menu, I also forgot to mention that there doesn't seem to be any growth. This is how you get in if you fixed the start up problem, 1. if you're currently having the database thing, restart the game and when it boots up, don't do anything else, 2. go to settings and lower your graphics, medium is reccomended(and no higher otherwise you'll be booted sooner), with a render scale of 100%, hit apply then back out. and finally 3. choose your dino and once you get into the server selection, choose a server with fewer than 10 people less than the server max capacity, if there isn't one, refresh. and Boom your in, if you have the darkness or damage ui glitches, ignore them you're fine.

And that's how you get in. Note: the outcome may depend on your computer but otherwise this is what you should do once you finally boot up EVRIMA.

This worked for me! I was only able to stay on a server for 15 seconds and got booted out again. Also having the blackscreen night issue.

@hearty monolith seems to be that servers won't show up if there is a regional difference. That's what I'm seeing anyways.

Any tips on being able to change settings? Won't save if I change to fullscreen and if I change the resolution, it makes my cursor location inaccurate. also my resolution box is just blank. consistently at 8fps no matter what graphics settings but the menu seems to be snappier with all low settings. no idea. also says {config path} at bottom of settings menu

I belive you cant join any oficial server with more than 50 peaple in it, and if you try to do it you have te close the game otherwise you cant join any other server. On restart the first server has to be one that either is not official or is official with less than 50 people. This fixed the Data Acquisition for me

This isn't really an issue with the game, I think, per se, but is there any ay I can boost FPS..? I turned down all settings, but it feels like, even with my reasonably good graphic card (brand new, bought all the machine parts new this year). If the branches still are not visible you may need to clear your Steam download cache. To do this, click "Steam" in the upper left hand corner, settings, downloads, and then "Clear Steam download cache". It should restart steam where you'll have to log back in. (I still cant get the branch update)

if you cant find your installation folder:
right click on the isle in steam and click on properties.
Click on local files.
Click the highlighted button.
Drop the dll file in that folder that it opens.

The max amount of servers displayed is 50. Regions seem to affect which servers you see and which you don't. Hypno said there will be a fix for that in the next patch which will be released in the next couple of hours. @azure belfry

So. After logging in / out of the same server a bunch trying to optimize my settings, my HUD is now stuck like this. I can still run. Completely restarting the game does NOT fix the issue. Eating does not seem to change, and I have yet to pant from stam loss.

IF YOU'RE GETTING FATAL ERROR DO THIS 1): Close The Isle if it's currently open
2): Go to your Steam Library
3): Right click The Isle and go to "properties"
4): Go to the "Local Files" tab and click "browse Local Files"
5): Delete all local files in that folder, including the .ddl and un-install The Isle.
6): Re-install The Isle's EVRIMA branch

The key is COMPLETELY wiping everything in the Isle folder before uninstalling

Data acquisition in progress is basically another way of saying, "Hey, the servers can't handle this stuff, so it's difficult to connect you."
Isle Nycta has said it needs around twice the power to handle this.

It should be fixed soon.

If some of y'all have tried the fixes and are still getting the "Fatal Error" dialog box: Make sure you don't have the Frozen North pak installed. It conflicts with the game, and you won't be able to launch it.

For anyone with the Data Acquisition problem, when you enter the game try to join a server, if you get returned back into the menu it probably meant the server was full. So restart the game (quit out and go back in), and try it again on a different one. If you don't restart then you will be stuck even if the server wasn't full.

I just realized something, we have no real right to complain right now. We have been waiting for a while yes, but look at what they are attempting, completely rebuilding a already big game from the ground up with several new features. The devs have been putting there souls into this game and all we could do is ask "when can we stop waiting". ive seen smaller projects take years to be developed and we get this in a matter of months. so yes, there are going to be a lot of bugs and problems as this is a beta for a game thats already being heavily workshopped. i, personally, am going to stop complaining and say "x,y and z wont work". So to other players, please stop complaining and allow these great people who sacrificed so much of their time to bring this game to life to fix this game and not have to worry about all of these problems, as i guarantee whatever you may say now has already been said tonight. And to any devs that may see this message, thank you for all your work and please dont feel rushed, it means a lot that you are making this game as special as it is and will be

If the branches still are not visible you may need to clear your Steam download cache. To do this, click "Steam" in the upper left hand corner, settings, downloads, and then "Clear Steam download cache". It should restart steam where you'll have to log back in.

if you cant find your installation folder:
right click on the isle in steam and click on properties.
Click on local files.
Click the highlighted button.
Drop the dll file in that folder that it opens.

Just so people know, server numbers don’t really reflect how many people are on. So if you try to join a server say 50/60 and it boots you. You can’t join any other server or that one. You have to restart your game and try to join again or it will continue to bring you to main menu. Restart the game and try to join a lower pop server relative to the max players allowed. Hope it helps!

I messed with the graphics settings and now I can't seem to get back to where I was before. Consistently stuck at 8fps starting at server select screen. If you're getting the Fatal error try this Go to steam - Library - right click the isle - properties - then go into browse local files open that and drop this download in there this one is a different one that worked for me and helped others.

Having an issue where, after the introductory AE animation, I just get a black screen. The game just sits there in a black screen using up CPU and memory. I only managed to get it to load the first time I opened the game but it takes like 3 -10 minutes.

While playing Tenoto I found a mud spot. After rolling in the mud I was unable to sniff, drink, and sit down. Relogging fixed the issue though. Just wanted to comment on a small bug.

locked myself to 60fps and my gpu was on fire at 94C so I locked myself to 30fps and now I get 58C wew. Still plays smooth to my eyes. On an i5-3470(from 2012) and a r9 390 (also from years ago)

Game is blurry; framerate starts at ~30 (which is fine for my PC), soon drops to 8 and goes very jerky until restarting the game
Render is already set to 100%
Windows 10; NVIDIA 750ti, no geforce experience, settings mostly application-controlled
1920 x 1080 windowed fullscreen mode
single, primary monitor, no other monitors
occurs in both epic/cinematic-set settings
PC, not laptop, not in power-save mode, gfx card set to performance > power

So.... Quick little question.... My friends and I were all playing on a server(until it crashed or whatever) and then we tried to rejoin. However, now one of my friends can't find the server. Even though he found it earlier. He has tried restarting the game like four times, and even reinstalled once to try and find it again. Anyone know a way to help him out? I was in a server, everyone got glitched out, but now I cannot find that server or get into any other one. It just brings me back to the title screen.
Not to mention frame rate is the lowest it has ever been for any game on my laptop, even when I beta tested others. I get 5-10 fps.

You need to restart the game after the first attempt to join a server if it doesnt let you ingame, means the server is full, restart game and try another server. Hotfix for this will come soon

download the vcruntime in #pinned-troubleshooting . Open the file, grab the .dll, and put it in Windows(C:)/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/The Isle. if you did it correctly, The Isle should now open on command.
@trim goblet that is not a bug-too many people are trying to get on at the same time. wait for a few days or joining a small server is your best bet.
@drowsy hull the devs have been working on this for so long. expect bugs. they've done a great job and they do not deserve complaining.

@coarse wedge Yes. I've done everything that is listed in #pinned-troubleshooting I've already downloaded the file and it's where it's supposed to be but I'm still getting the message. My friend had a similar issue and extracted the file and placed it in the isle folder, which worked for her. I verified I placed it correctly with her, however I'm still having the issue. Is there anything you suggest I can try that isn't listed in #pinned-troubleshooting I'll try anything at this point.

This is NOT a bug! Too many people are trying to join at the same time. Wait a few days or join a smaller server.

There are 50 servers shown max. They are sorted on lowest latency, so anyone from US won't be able to join the EU servers as of now. (and vice versa)
This will be fixed next patch according to Hypno @raw inlet
If you mean not a single server, restart the game, and steam if that doesn't help

Adjust your Steam In-Game server browser: Max pings / minutes. At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle. @teal mica @old sun (helps with finding some servers)

I'm getting the same problem as @fathom rune .
It kicks me from the server and then appears to just continuously load on the 'data acquisition in progress'.
What I have noticed if I press the 'refresh button' whilst this happens I can see the server list shows up under this screen, as if the Data acquisition screen is just sitting in front of it.

I have the same issues as JohnnyPunko, except no matter what server i attempt, including servers with rather low amounts of players, I get kicked and have to reset my game due to being stuck at Data Acquisition. I have already cleared the DNS cache and repeatedly verified my files.

Okay Guys if you have the Data Acquisition, I have been testing for a lil over an hour and I found a solution- 1- You will not be able to connect if the Server is 10 under full I.E. 50/60 is full you wont be able to connect, but 45/60 you will be able to connect 2- The high server caps have a low chance of connecting I.E. a 60 server will connect far more often than a 110 server, even then... 3- Don't sit there for more than a minute, if you sit there for more than a minute it will either crash or never let you in. 4- If it kicks you back to "Hello Islanders!" just try and try again, it is random whether you will be able to connect at all 5- If you are kicked more than once, logout and quit the game, then reopen, it should refresh your queue 6- If you finally get in and you see the infamous blue squares, I am not kidding when I say this... SPAM EVERY POSSIBLE CONTROL BUTTON, Chat a few times, call out, spam Insert, click around everywhere, then it might render your Character, if not, Alt F4 and try all over again. 7- Once you can run around, and the server doesn't crash, sit and wait, then your stats will fill in and hopefully your grow will start working as well... That is everything I have figured out over the past hour... Go Ahead and DM me If you have more questions, BEWARE- I am not an all knowing god and I still am in the dark about why these bugs are happening, If you have more specific questions I am NOT the man to ask... Thank you Devs, I Unironically love EVRIMA and I understand you are getting overwhelmed and this isn't your fault, or what you intended, keep up the good work Devs!!! Please remember to go to #pinned-troubleshooting to look for answers to your questions before asking them. Here are some FAQ and answers:

Q:"Why am I stuck on Data Acquisition screen?"
A: Servers are very overloaded. Join a less populated server and that will fix it. If you get kicked off the server, completely restart steam and then try again.

Q: Why won't my game launch?" / "I press play and nothing happens!".
A: Go to #pinned-troubleshooting and download the file at the top. Next, go to Steam, Right click on "The Isle [evrima]", Press manage, then Browse Local Files. Afterwards drag ONLY "vcruntime140_1.dll" to that path. Then try to play again. If it doesn't work at first, you may need to completely restart steam then try again.

If the game doesn't even boot up , it might be an issue related to vcruntime. In which case you can download this file below and extract the .dll file into your game's installation folder and try launching the game again. the files in pinned troubleshooting (and clips on how to do it are pinned in evrima troubleshooting) @rough mango

No matter the mode I'm in windowed, full etc. When I try to go into full screen it literally changes my monitor resolution and refresh rate from 1920 x 1080 @ 75Hz to 1600 x 900 @ 60Hz. THIS IS CAUSES SEVERE PERFORMANCE IMPACTS as the only way i can actually play at 1080p is in windowed fullscreen which causes my fps to cap at 50.

I keep getting stuck on data aquisitions I’ve even restarted the game but it doesn’t do anything, sometimes it’ll load but then kicks me back to the main menu with “greetings islanders”

Q:"Why am I stuck on Data Acquisition screen?"
A: Servers are very overloaded. Join a less populated server and that will fix it. If you get kicked off the server, completely restart steam and then try again.

If you can't find a specific server it's due to a current issue being worked on where you only see so many servers, and they are region based.

Beefy PC, sometimes prone to overheating, therefore run fans at higher speeds. Evrima cooks my GPU worse than Far Cry 5 does, goes from 40C to 70C in a matter of minutes. Some way to cap the fps at around 60 would be great, not a fan of having 144fps limit since I don't have rtx titan and a cooling system the size of a building :)
