Either me or my friend is in a permanent ghost server? No matter what server, official and unofficial, we're never in the same server. Yeah I had a similar issue where I wasn't able to eat most food I came across as a herbi. I could still graze but 90% of food I tried to eat would act as if it wasn't there and I'd just start grazing.

If I had to guess I'd say it's something to do with the new interact assist feature but I'm just spit balling

the problem is when starting the game. After opening the main menu, it crashes and closes. This happened right after installing Patch 0.21.321.
On January 3, 2026, I noticed a game update. I ran it, and everything seemed fine. It let me choose servers, and everything was fine.
January 5, 2026, I noticed another update. Now the game crashes when it reaches the main menu, after the initial load.
January 07 new update, I played without problems until day 9. Today, day 10 new update..now it continues to crash
Like all The Isle players, I have 157 hours of gameplay. Everything was fine before Patch 0.21.321.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game three times, verified the game files, cleared the cache... nothing.

Okay, I've lost 2 dinos to seemingly nothing on US-8 that I spent a considerable amount of time growing/ entombing and such, like as if they were wiped, but everyone else I've asked from that server hasn't experienced anything like this yet. It's not just not being able to see the dinosaurs in the server select menu, they are just gone. I join and I'm at the dino select screen and I know for a fact I had whatever dino. Just to help consolidate reports:

Many players are currently unable to join both official and unofficial Evrima servers.
Servers appear ONLINE with available slots, but joining results in:
– “Server full”
– “Client disconnected”
– Connection timeout

This does not seem to be actual capacity-related.
Some players can join after several attempts (likely timing), while others cannot join at all.
The issue appears across different ISPs, hostings and even when using VPNs.

This looks like an Evrima / EOS handshake or backend issue rather than a server-side configuration problem.

At the moment, there’s no reliable workaround on the player side.

The servers themselves are running, but the issue happens during the initial connection/handshake (likely Evrima/EOS backend related). That’s why:
– Some people get in after multiple tries
– Others can’t join at all
– Messages like “server full” or timeouts appear even when slots are available

Retrying may work by chance, but it’s inconsistent.
There’s nothing meaningful players or server owners can fix locally.

So realistically, we’re waiting for a backend / Evrima hotfix from the devs.

Im trying to troubleshoot why when i select a server I just am stuck in a permanent connecting screen that will never load me in but says connecting. Does anyone know what this bug is

Heres my problem, when I close out of the game it never fully closes. I cannot task manager it, I cannot close it through steam, even restarting my computer doesnt close the game. It just constantly tells me the game is already running when it clearly isnt. It shows up in the task manager menu but is unresponsive. What could cause this?

It's currently a known bug. If you cannot force close the game through task manager you need to restart your PC and when it says programs are still running say "shutdown anyway"

As I said, restarting my PC doesnt fix it. It will start back up, I will go to launch The Isle after restarting my pc and it will still say it is currently running.

Whenever I click on on the isle or open it up (it’s set to full screen) it covers the whole screen like it should, but I can’t click on anything and it is way to zoomed in. I have deleted and redownloaded, checked files, restarted computer, and closed and reopened with task manager and it still doesn’t work. It started when I clicked on the steam overlay popup on accident trying to change my full screen to windowed full screen. Whenever I am not on it or I close the window it doesn’t disappear but instead shrinks away

There is currently a bug where the isle keeps running in the background despite having closed the game. Here are the 2 fixes:

1. Open task manager, click the isle, click "end task"

2. Restart or shutdown your PC. A prompt will appear saying there are still programs running, shutdown anyway? Click the "shutdown anyway" option.

Disable Fast boot in the windows settings then restart, or try leaving your PC shut off longer. You can also try ending the EasyAntoCheat task in task manager

Server full could be the server is actually full because the player count display is messed up rn. Give it like 10min then try connecting again. Sometimes it's a weird EAC quirk where it doesn't like to let you rejoin any servers for a short time after you crash
