On hordetest it only happened to me on sessions I applied my setting in. Something about the garbage collector/memory freeing settings that aren't enabled is prob causing it

So the temp fix for me was: apply settings, restart, don't touch any settings and play

so by comparison - i have an amd 5900x 12 core 4.8ghz cpu and an nvidia rtx 2070 8GB

RESOLUTION set to 1920 X 1080, V-SYNC set to OFF, FRAME RATE LIMIT set to OFF, WINDOWED MODE set to FULLSCREEN MODE, NVIDIA DLSS set to ULTRAPERFORMANCE, LUMEN set to OFF, and SHADOWS, TEXTURES, EFFECTS, MATERIALS and VIEW DISTANCE all set to medium

i get 80 - 100 fps

with SHADOWS, TEXTURES, EFFECTS, MATERIALS set to HIGH and VIEW DISTANCE set to far then fps is 60 - 80 fps

but with frame rate limit off, the GPU Load will be over 90% and up to 99% a lot of the time so in that case you would need to ensure your cpu and gpu temps are not getting to high and have sufficient cooling

so i have V-SYNC set to ON and frame rate limit set to 60fps the GPU Load drops to 65 - 75% on average and cpu and gpu run at lower temps and the game looks amazing and runs nice for me

with DLSS set to QUALITY rather than ULTRAPERFORMANCE drops the fps by 10 - 15 fps

Confirming I had this issue too. I just disabled my antivirus (avast), and it let steam redownload the file and the game launches fine now. Originally, evrima updated fine, but crashed once it launched and didn't even reach the main menu. After the crash it wouldn't launch again, said that file was missing, and steam failed to grab the file with a "disk write error".

I find that odd too, the issue just popped up after this latest update. I haven't had any issues previously at all. I also have a pretty good computer that hasn't acted up until just now. When I play the game itself I have stable fps and everything runs fine. It is also just this game right now aswell. Thanks for the update and I'll look into it. the last log written is called TheIsle.log as the game exits or the most recent ones are called TheIsle-backup-'date'-'time'.log

update: tried to help in DM but after getting them to try numerous things they were still stuck on connecting after last update ... they were showing the correct current evrima public version in their log file although their graphics driver was an older version - they said they had checked to ensure the game was allowed in antivirus and firewall, deleted the TheIsle folder in appdata ... windows is up to date ... told them to check if easy anti-cheat installed and updating/loading ok via the anticheatlauncher.log and i looked in their log file and there is easy anti-cheat init issued

nb. would be curious how libcurl, SSL, DNS and Peer Certificate and HTTP requests are related to servers not connecting if at all related? doesn't seem any error message for any issues with certificates

Means there's an issue with steam. For some reason your PC isn't able to connect to steam online services

Can try restarting PC and checking your internet connection. There may also be a steam outage in your area meaning you'd have to wait till it's back online
