For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

• Press Windows key.

• Type "Run" to launch Run program.

• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.

• Search for TheIsle folder.

• Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

It has also been known to be caused by strict permissions with a Windows User Account and/or strict Anti-Virus settings

Please reduce what Windows and/or Anti-virus will block as far as programs go. You may need to create a new Windows User account to bypass the issue.

-If the above fails, make sure your GPU/GFX Drivers are updated. If you already updated them, uninstall them and reinstall them if the issue persists.

Oh looks like you're helping on this issue, the player has reinstalled and set their beta branch to the correct one for gateway but still nothing is showing

For those with that "Easy Anti-Cheat is not installed" issue, there are some steps you can do to solve it

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle"

there is a file called InstallAntiCheat.bat, just run it and try running the game again.

Go to the game folder. Right click game in steam, properties, local files, browse.
Should send you here: steamapps\common\The Isle

Delete EasyAntiCheat folder.
Then Verify intergrity of game files.

After this the game should download an insignificant small amount of files.
Run the game, now it installs EasyAntiCheat for you.

• Right Click The Isle [Evrima] in steam.
• Properties
• Local Files
• Browse
• Open EasyAntiCheat Folder
• Double click EasyAntiChaet_EOS_Setup. Most likely nothing will happen.

It really doesn't help blaming others if you face technical problems, and it certainly doesn't help to spread misinformation. I get that you are frustrated, but the developers are working on fixing bugs. This is your only warning.
Now for the integrity failure I'd advise to re-install EAC. If that doesn't help, you'll want to try and put EAC on your anti-virus whitelist.

You will need to log out, because you need to wipe your config files:
If playing the game, close it.
In your Windows search bar, type %localappdata% and hit enter.
Locate the Isle folder, open it.
Open the Saved folder.
Delete the Config folder.
Relaunch the game.
(Note: this will also reset your custom settings.)

Hey! I've been having some problem with my scent. No matter what dino I use herbivore or carnivore I cannot smell ANYTHING, as both a herbivore and carnivore I've stood still and sniffed in multiple locations multiple times for probably nearly a minute just sniffing I cant find any food, I typically wouldn't go here but I've tried everything I could I've travelled to so m any different locations trying to find food or even water and I cant because my scent wont show anything

This happens to me a lot too except it kicked me back to the main menu after freezing for a while. What I did was after it sent me to main menu, i left the game and I uninstalled and reinstalled anticheat then tried to join the exact same server. Sometimes it works, but if the servers full and I’m in a queue it takes a couple of tries. It’s a pretty annoying bug and needs to be fixed

it is normal for your screen to go black/blank for a few second during graphics driver installation as that is the setup installation detecting what monitors you have connected ... it does the same on nvidia driver installation for me every time

yeah you end up with a text file that just contains the isle steam app id - in the same folder as the game .exe that contains the isle steam app id ... someone reported a week ago something similar and they said after creating the txt file the isle loaded and the game ran ok - someone else said that they rolled their graphics driver back to an earlier version and that fixed a similar problem with the isle not loading ... it not always the same issue each time

yeah that happens to me a lot as well. What I did was when i tried connecting to a server, I waited for it to kick me out again. Then I closed the game then uninstalled then reinstalled anti cheat. Then I relaunch the game and try to join the exact same server again. It works sometimes, but if the server is full then it takes a couple of tries. It is a very annoying bug, please report it so it gets the attention of the devs. I know a lot of people struggle with this

after getting booted from the server, close game. Then browse local files > uninstall anticheat > install anticheat. Then relaunch game and try to connect to that exact same server. This happens to me sometimes. If the server is full, then it will take a couple of tries. Lmk if it works for you too

If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Power-hungry, high-clocked CPUs can be a tad unstable if they're not given right BIOS settings.

"A division of Epic Games is pointing the finger at Intel's latest CPUs when it comes to an increasing number of reported Unreal Engine game crashes. Modern top-end CPUs are jammed full of cores, all running at high speeds, and it takes a lot of energy to keep them running like this. That's particularly true for Intel's most recent Core i9 processors, which are some of the most power-hungry chips around. And to eke out even more performance, motherboard vendors often use BIOS settings that push things even further.

All of this seems to be the culprit in the increased reports of game and app crashes, especially those that are built in Unreal Engine, and the only solution is to delve into those settings to calm the beast down a notch."

also you can right click the taskbar in windows desktop and run Task Manager (or Ctrl-Alt-Del and select Task Manager) then go to Detail tab and click the CPU column to sort it highest to low ... check what is using the most cpu % - you can see what other apps/programs are using cpu as well

you can also right click the taskbar and choose task manager then go to startup tab in windows 10 or 11 and make sure not too many things are being loaded that you don't need - just right click and disable things (or right click to enable them again) if you don't think they need to be loaded - make sure no spyware/malware is being loaded at startup

Heya, I'm having this trouble that when I try to connect to any server, it freezes at "Connecting" for like 5-7 minutes and then just kicks me by "Connection Lost". I can join the server after few tries but still it's annoying wasting 20 minutes just to join.

hey there ... are you referring to 8gb of system ram? i think 8gb is enough but you would need to ensure you have a windows page file enabled which it should be anyway so the app/game can switch out data from system ram to the hdd/ssd pagefile ...

if you have low system ram eg. 8gb is really the minimum i think for windows 10/11 to run efficiently ... then def ensuring you have a windows page file enabled can help - it normally is enabled by default anyway

vram is the ram that your graphics card uses and i think for the isle i have seen players in the comments here saying they had only 4GB of vram and they were playing the isle evrima

if you have a discrete graphics card and onboard integrated graphics gpu then windows will determine which one to use when a game runs but you can manually select and tell windows to use the more powerful of the two for a specific game/app - which would normally be your discrete graphics card ...

Go to the game folder. Right click game in steam, properties, local files, browse.
Should send you here: steamapps\common\The Isle

Delete EasyAntiCheat folder.
Then Verify intergrity of game files.

After this the game should download an insignificant small amount of files.
Run the game, now it installs EasyAntiCheat for you.

Hey, so I was wondering if anyone's Isle has crashed and a few seconds after, given your pc a bluescreen with a "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE"?

It has happened multiple times and I'm not too sure why actually. I did reinstall my graphics drivers etc as google and other posts said that it could be my graphics driver doing it, and after that it hasn't bluescreen me until now again when I tried launching the isle and it crashed

Its definitely an Isle issue then. That BSOD usually means bad hardware, but if only the Isle is proccing it, then its most likely some crazy bug thats writing to memory when it shouldn't. Unfortunately I can't help you past that, but I can tell you that its not your computer at fault.

The typical troubleshooting would be to check your RAM for faultyness (using Windows Memory Diagnostic / MemTest86 or whatever) and then checking your hdd/ssd/nvme (whatever The Isle is installed on) for issues using CHKDSK or something similar. You already updated your graphics drivers, but thats usually the first culprit of that BSOD

Do you have The Isle installed on a disk that is split in different sections? For example, half of it is named Disk C and the other is Disk D

Go to the game folder. Right click game in steam, properties, local files, browse.
Should send you here: steamapps\common\The Isle

Delete EasyAntiCheat folder.
Then Verify intergrity of game files.

After this the game should download an insignificant small amount of files.
Run the game, now it installs EasyAntiCheat for you.

I deleted the Saved folder of The Isle, then I started the Isle and all my favorite servers and also all my dinos got deleted from the servers...

@winter python Phew brother... I did put it in wrong folder and then I had no dino anymore and it asked me to create new...
Now I found the right folder to put Saved in and my dinos are back - only preview and favorite servers are gone but i dont mind X_x Gosh

so deleting the Saved folder deletes all your dinos on the servers...

You need a GPU which features DX12 with FL (feature_level) 12_0 or above. If you have that, you have to update your GPU drivers to get rid of the issue.
