My friend is having an issue with changing their settings. They say that any preset or custom set in settings is making their graphics insanely smooth over(looks like playdough) and at times it becomes insanely blurry and grainy. Their render is also not rendering properly, and their game becomes really laggy at times(averaging about 8-10). This is a ss they sent me with the graphics tagged onto it. I heard this was a bug and was wondering if their was a fix for it ^_^

Hello, I'm having trouble with this dx12 error and I feel like I've tried everything. I haven't played in a while so maybe the game got too big for my computer? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and restarting my computer, nothing helps. My Windows and graphics cards are fully up to date, and my GPU is Nvidia Quadro K2200.

It’s a 50/50 shot on whether that one will work or not. Windows and gpu both need to be fully up to date. With nvidia, it should be done through the website or GeForce experience.

Occasionally you may need to reinstall your drivers, so try that as well. We’ll see if krow has anything else

Hey Guys, So being enjoying playing legacy and decided to step it up and run Evrima. Unfortunately I am getting the following error. I have made sure I am using the latest graphics drivers and have windows as updated as possible. My GPU is an AMD R9 380. I know its getting old but plays most recent games and is Directx12 compatible. Would love to play this version of The Isle so hopefully someone has some suggestions for me. Cheers

@wooden ginkgo @timid fog The R9 380 and 390 cards are old GPU. They don't receive driver updates anymore. Yes, they technically support DX12, but without newer drivers, they don't know how to communicate with and use newer DX12 features that Evrima now uses.

@ionic cobalt @grizzled valley If you crash with the ”Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 868] … cpp:910 with error 887A0006” error message, it seems this is due to a problem with DirectX rendering. To fix it, you can try to:

• update your graphics drivers;
• if they're already up-to-date, uninstall your graphics drivers with DDU and reinstall them;
• if you have a Nvidia GPU, uninstall Geforce Experience and manually install the drivers through the Nvidia website;
• lower the FPS limit;
• lower your graphics settings;
• lower your resolution;
• disable Riva Tuner Statistics Server (it comes with MSI Afterburner);
• revert your GPU's overclocking including if it's overclocked from the factory;
• disable third-party software like for example any RGB software;
• configure The Isle to use your dedicated GPU: go in Windows settings > System > Display > scroll down and click on ”Graphic settings” > under ”Graphic performance preferences”, click on ”Browse”. Once here, follow this path to find The Isle app: This PC > Local C: drive > Programs (x86) > Steam > steamapps > Common > The Isle > TheIsle > Binaries > Win64 > select ”TheIsle-Client-Win64-Shipping” app (only click once) and then click on ”Add”. Once that's done, click on ”Options”, choose ”high performances” and confirm.

If all of that fails to work, you'll have to wait for a hotfix.

AMD will not provide drivers anymore for that GPU. I don't know those games but they surely don't use the same DX12-only features The Isle uses, or they are compatible with DX11 which The Isle isn't anymore.

You should install AMD Adrenaline. I doubt you have the latest drivers that released like two days ago? if you don't have AMD Adrenaline. Unless you manually installed the drivers through the website. But I doubt you did that either since you seem a bit lost about all of that. :)

You'll just be wasting your time. It's completely normal that old GPUs stop receiving driver updates when they're too old.

DX12 works properly only when your system has the latest Windows (10 or 11) version and the latest graphics drivers. You can't have the latest drivers since your GPU stopped receiving driver updates about one year ago, therefore your system can't properly run DX12 which is going to be problematic for very modern games like Evrima. There is not much you can do against that. It's pretty normal that a PC game, especially one in early access, evolves fast and therefore older GPUs don't keep up the pace.

I believe nanite and lumen are among those features. You'd find more information by googling. However you'd just be wasting your time.
My previous PC couldn't run Evrima properly so I just saved up money for >1 year to build a modern mid-range gaming PC. It just happens that sometimes your PC is too old to keep up with very modern games.
The server admins will not be able to help you...

ok so did a little more reading. dx12 is supported on R9 380 but not dx12 Ultimate. dx12 Ultimate brings in raytracing support which my card does not do.

You can run the game with feature level 12_0 and higher. DX12 Ultimate is feature level 12_2. Again, your problem is that your GPU doesn't receive driver update anymore. Without new drivers, your GPU doesn't know how to communicate with the newer DX12 versions and features.

Lumen may be, but nanite I doubt so, since people with GPUs that only support feature level 12_0 can run the game. Nanite is on by default and you can't turn it off, whereas lumen can be turned off.

Update your graphics drivers and Windows, I see you have an unactivated Windows version, that could prevent your system from getting the latest DX12 version through Windows updates, which can be the cause of weird graphics like that. A shot in the dark but it's worth trying.

Go on Steam, right-click on The Isle.
Select ”Properties”, go to ”Installed files”, then click ”Browse”.
There you will see a file called InstallAntiCheat. Click on it.
Nothing will visibly happen: that is normal.
Run the game again. Your issue should be fixed.

For all of you that encounter the same problem i have found a fix. But i am yet not understanding the reason. I did copied the fiels to another driver (with the steam client, you first need to create a stream library on the other storage partition steam -> configurations - > stroage create new library and than move with the client ) (HDD). From there the game started, first again with the loop. But i wasnt asked to give admin rights. I tried a second time and it run. I assume this could be a problem with NVMe 2.0 Storage. On SSD its also working. Dont know why. When switching the files back to my main drive its not working again @fast goblet @echo mist

I tried anything, from deleting, reinstalling, all the EAC fixes up and down. Nothing worked. The log files of EAC tell that EAC is loading properly but the logs of TheIsle show that the reason for not starting is that a second instance of the game gets called. Becaue of that the shutdown command from steam client is requested

Yeah thats no problem you can do a second Stream library on a diffrent storage with steam. Steam gives you the possibility to move the installation between the Storage /librarys

i set the DX12 to 12..
deleted the save file+config file..

I have an issue and everyone else with the isle doesn't have it... I don't have a night vision key. I search my settings and gameplay options and have nothing that mentions it! so when nighttime rolls around I only see whatever the game provides. (I think like a human but I haven't been able to play human yet so...) I have already tried to delete and re-install the game but that hasn't changed anything. I also have a pretty good PC but the wifi is a little rough if thats the difference?

It shouldn't adversely affect water visuals, it should actually help it. The only thing you might notice is a drop of framerate, as this changes the renderscale to 100% instead of 50% upscaled which the game is set to by default. Your frames should be comparable to what you had in the previous update.

Wasn't getting this error before today. I get to the main menu fine, but it freezes and gets that error every time I try to click on anything (Play, Settings, etc.)
Drivers are up to date, verified integrity of files, tried a clean install.
Got it to launch successfully once, but not sure how. Can't seem to get it to work again.

If framerate is an issue, and you have a Nvidia card, you can enable DLSS instead of doing this. Change your anti-aliasing to low or high as well.

So this frame drop had been happening lately to me since two months before 6.5 full relase. I have footage of it, but its on ge force and i dont know how to send it on disco. Basically: I play normally for about 15 mins - 1 hour before fps drop from 50 fps to 6 and below. The game is very badly playable. it’s usually caused from a mass amount of stuff like players, bodies, meat chunks, glitched food, etc in one spot. if you’re near popular hangout spots such as center and NW, you’ll probably get lots of lag in those areas. try playing more on the outskirts of the map and avoid high traffic areas

It looks like what it should look like. Messing with this will not solve the line 868 error. That error is caused by an overload on your GPU because of a problem with how UE5/DX12 render things, making your GPU crash. So the only potential fixes for now is to try and put less load on your GPU (lowering the fps cap, the graphics settings, etc). If that doesn't work at all, you can only wait for a patch from the devs.

You need to update your graphics drivers to fix that issue, assuming you have a dedicated graphics card support DX12 feature level 12_0 and higher. Windows (10 or 11, doesn't matter) also has to be up-to-date.

I’m not fully sure but I always got to different types of fatal errors, I literally don’t crash on any game after I did what I did

My temps were really high (around 80-85 and sometimes even around 90. That caused the fatal error to happen constantly, next time u play check your temps and if there 75+ then you should underclock, fixed EVERYTHING for me
