A lot of people have been having that issue since 6.0, it might be something with the current update that's broken but it works if you keep your config from before the update. If you "update" your config it might be on the bugged state.

The problem is that the current version of the config seems to be bugged.
Deleting the config "updates" it to the newest one, so normally that is no problem.
I haven't heared from anyone yet that deleting the config causes that problem since 6.0 ):

Try doing this:

1.) Open your Windows Security
2.) Head to "Virus and threat protection"
3.) Scroll down to "Manage ransomware protection"
4.) Look for the "Controlled folder access" Option, and see if it's on or off. If it's on try turning it off

Apperantly "Controlled folder access" is a feature that can stop certain software/games from modifying files.

But I'm not sure if it could help in this case >.<

I don't see why that would be the case. It's definitely not stopping The Isle from editing the game settings text document.

It's able to edit every file associated with it in the appdata, so I doubt that it's unable to edit what it needs to.

Most likely looked normal to them. My guess the server registered you as standing sill or running a different direction even though on your side you were running. Likely due to poor connection which can happen with over 100 ping.

my settings won't save. every time that I enter a server, most settings set back to the default, which cripples my FPS. I tried some online guide which advised me to edit the file, but that didn't work either.

A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first.
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
• Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

2.) Deleting your Local game files

• Press "Windows key" (or "Windows key" + "R" if that doesn't work)
• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
• Search for TheIsle folder.
• Delete the TheIsle folder once you've found it.

Now you can re-install the game over Steam, like normal.

Common bug nowadays and is potentially unfixable. Tech support still haven't responded to me about it and I don't think anything can be done. Try a full reinstall and delete isle appdata. If that doesn't work, then I'd just get used to changing it manually. If you find a fix against the odds, let me know dude.

Also, the settings reset when going to main menu based on my experience, but each case seems a little unique so idk

Hey, I just got the isle evrima today and it doesn’t seem to run over 20 frames, I went back to main menu and changed everything to lowest and only got 30 frames but what’s weird is every time i switch my graphics settings they don’t stay, I tried running normal isle and i get around 114 frames on high graphics so i’m not sure what my issue is.

I like the game very much, but unfortunately I can't play it for more than 10 minutes, otherwise my game crashes.
My system should not be the problem, drivers and software are also up to date. Other games run without problems on Ultra Settings!
Only with The Isle I have the following error message:

Hey, I just got the isle evrima today and it doesn’t seem to run over 20 frames, I went back to main menu and changed everything to lowest and only got 30 frames but what’s weird is every time i switch my graphics settings they don’t stay, I tried running normal isle and i get around 114 frames on high graphics so i’m not sure what my issue is.

Hey, this past month or so ive been having a issue with isle Evirma a not launching, when I launch the game from steam it says its running and the anti cheat loads and the isle symbol pops up on the task bar

but after 30 seconds or so the icon goes from the taskbar and on steam the isle just says running and it just stays like that, in task manager the game is running but its is not at the top, it is usually a few spots down like its not running at full utilization

I'm having a similar issue but the game crashes my entire PC at seemingly random times. I looked at my performance specs while playing and it uses more resources than any other game I run. I'm guessing it's an optimization issue or something random on my end. I can run for a couple hours with no issue and then I'll crash fifteen minutes into playing. It's weird but betas tend to be. I figured out the random PC crash/restart issue. Turns out my GPU fans weren't speeding up until the GPU was near overheating. Went in and adjusted the profile so they kick up faster, sooner. Haven't had an issue since.

1.) If running The Isle, exit the game.
2.) Press the windows key (or press "Windows key" + "R")
3.) Type %localappdata% then press Enter. (make sure you're really in Appdata -> local, and not in Appdata -> Roaming!)
4.) Find the TheIsle folder. Open it.
5.) Open the Saved folder, and go into the Config folder.
6.) Open the WindowsClient folder.
7.) Delete the Input.ini file (for you it might be called Input)
8.) Restart the game.

A reason for that issue could be that you're missing a file called steam_appid.txt, or that it's in the wrong location (The file isn't theoretically needed, but some people have issues without it).
Go to your game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
  and check if that's where the steam_appid.txt is.

If you find the file there, put it in the:
TheIsle -> Binaries -> Win64 folder

If you can't find that file in either folders, you can try to create it yourself, all you need to do is go to that folder
and create an text file with the number "376210" inside of it. Nothing more needed!

My audio seems to be really messed up. I cant hear footsteps or ambience everything except the attack, eating or call sounds seem muted down. Its hard to play like this since I cant hear something coming up to me while for example eating. Additional the eating sound is very loud but the footsteps of something ambushing are nearly absent. Got it, I didn't realize one used EAC and the other didn't. I figured both would. I punched that in but that didn't work. Anti-Virus has an exclusion for it and I doubled down and made sure my firewall has bypasses for it, but I still get that same error. It dies right as the EAC splash screen says 'Initializing'

Try deleting the "EasyAntiCheat.sys"(maybe "EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys" for you) file.

It's default path should be in "C: -> Programs(x86) -> EasyAntiCheat_EOS",

• Go there and delete the .sys file
• Then, go to your games folder and delete the EAC folder
• Verify your game files over steam
• Unintall and install Easy-Anti-Cheat over their .bat files again (Feel free to ask if you don't know how)

So I think I learned something. I read somewhere to try and launch the game directly from the local folder, which is where I thought I was getting progress because it would at least show me one of those errors. I look in the log and it showed that it would shut down and restart within the Steam API or something, and that wasn't working. I tried starting it through steam, though, and I'm back to where The Isle splash screen stays stuck in the middle of my screen and nothing happens

But I think that might have been the cause of the 10011 error... I could be wrong though

hm, still, some VR-Applications seem to cause an issue with EAC.
Especially something called OpenXR, but also applications like the Oculus App can cause problems.
But if you're not starting it that might not be it, but take a look at this post and try following on how to delete OpenXR, that's been the cause for that issue for the fast majority of people with it.

There are none, however if you plug your specs into this site https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/input/the-isle it will give you a graph at the bottom that tells you how good your CPU GPU and Ram are to run Legacy. I have found that if you are about 20-25% over recommended you should be able to run Evrima between 40-60 FPS on Med-High settings

Else you might have to do an complete manual reinstall:

A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first.
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
• Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

2.) Deleting your Local game files

• Press "Windows key" (or "Windows key" + "R" if that doesn't work)
• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
• Search for TheIsle folder.
• Delete the TheIsle folder once you've found it.

Now you can re-install the game over Steam, like normal.

For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

• Press Windows key.

• Type "Run" to launch Run program.

• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.

• Search for TheIsle folder.

• Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

It has also been known to be caused by strict permissions with a Windows User Account and/or strict Anti-Virus settings

Please reduce what Windows and/or Anti-virus will block as far as programs go. You may need to create a new Windows User account to bypass the issue.

Alright, ive had this problem with the isle for the past 4 days. When i got back home after 2 weeks of holiday I try to launch up the game after switching to gateway stress test it took 5 tries to get in, I have trouble loading into the main menu. the screen would go black and then when the main menu appeared I would fatal error without an error code. This issue has never happened to me before and is entirely new, I dont mind that it took 5 tries its a "stress test branch unfinished" and I safe log off the server after about 1 and a half hour of smooth gaming with no hiccups. I switch back to the evirma normal branch after the stress test servers come down to play normal evirma. During this time Ive installed a new GPU an rtx 3070. I have the latest drivers and all, the gpu works fine and every game boots up fine. The isle now does the same problem. I proceed to launch the game around 10 times to no avail crashing faster than I did before. A fatal error with no code. I check my task manager and nothing caps out like ram (I have 16gb of ram 3000mhz) I do a saved folder delete. Nothing changes. I do a reinstall with the fatal error crashes hot fix the one for people switching from legacy. Nothing happens. I flushdns restart. Nothing, and Im stuck, and I was wondering if I could get some help with anyone who has any ideas on what might be happening.

Try pressing f11, it'll force the game into windowed mode and you should be able to use the buttons after. It's a resolution problem, so go into your settings and make sure to change the resolution

hm, do you have an Anti-Virus Program ? If you do, make sure it's not blocking the game.
You should be able to add an exclusion for the "The Isle" steam game folder
(I mean the folder under:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files)

Else you could also try adding an exclusion to your windows Firewall, this post should explain it well:

Try leaving the server and join again, see if your dino appears again then. Maybe try it 2-3 times if it doesn't work the first time

What did it say when you verified your game files ?

that it checked x amount of files

if there is an error it tells u how many files broken and will continue to download

that was not the case

Okay. Then make sure that:

• Your windows is up-to-date
• Your GPU drivers are up-to-date
• See if Steam has an update.

Then you can also try a manual reinstall of all files, like this:

A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first.
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
• Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

2.) Deleting your Local game files

• Press "Windows key" (or "Windows key" + "R" if that doesn't work)
• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
• Search for TheIsle folder.
• Delete the TheIsle folder once you've found it.

Now you can re-install the game over Steam, like normal.

Optimization is always being worked on. The upcoming map, Gateway, will be utilized on official servers when it releases and has much better performance, in my experience. Additionally, this channel is for seeking technical help with the game

If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

okay so I'm having issues trying to get the game to launch. I used to play isle evrima a couple years ago before taking a long break. I wanted to revisit but can't get the game to launch. Essentially what happens is, the anticheat will start up and the little title graphic pops up (picture shown), but nothing else will happen. I've tried waiting upwards of ten minutes for the game to open to no avail.
I've tried pretty much everything I can think of on my end, like reinstalling, updating windows and my drivers, verifying game files, launching steam and the game itself as administrator, etc, and nothing has changed. any advice would be appreciated.

Not exactly a game issue per say, but is there not any way to rebind the descend key? I only have crouch.
The issue being that my control key is broken, so I'd like to bind it to C instead. This pretty much makes things like Deinosuchus unplayable to me since I'd be relying on cliffs to even get under the surface of the water.

hm, if the 3(4) fixes Lunary send didn't work, try deleting the "EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys" file.

It's default path should be in "C: -> Programs(x86) -> EasyAntiCheat_EOS",

• Go there and delete the .sys file
• Then, go to your games folder and delete the EAC folder
• Verify your game files over steam
• Unintall and install Easy-Anti-Cheat over their .bat files again (Feel free to ask if you don't know how)

Yeah on mid to high end we've got 30-90 fps that will consistently drop to 20...

They're always working on improving the optimisation.
A lot of the fps drops currently are caused from the maps tile system.
The new map that we'll be getting is a lot better optimised in that regard.
That doesn't necessarily mean it improves the fps, but that they're stable and no fps drops.
Additional to that the game will migrate over to UE5, which should improve the optimisation further.

Generally that happens when the game sets itself to the wrong resolution. Press f11, then you should be able to go to settings and select the right resolution

If you cannot select any buttons in the main menu, your mouse is misaligned, or the screen isn't properly focused on your monitor, then there is an issue with your resolution.

Press f11 to put the game into windowed mode

After that, you should be able to enter the settings and change the resolution of the game

Hm…. I’m a fully grown carno and i just killed a little juvi omniraptor, I hold LMB and shake my mouse, (nothing happens) I try again and all it does is it slow down my mouse. I have tried logging of and all of that jazz, and nothing works. Is there a way to fix it?

hm, interesting that it eventually loads for you, usually people that are stuck in that screen never manage to load in the game.
Do you play, or have played, any VR-games ?
Usually that's caused from a VR-application causing issues, especially OpenXR.
I'm not sure if this could be the cause of your issue, since it eventually loads for you, but take a look at this post.
If that doesn't work, maybe try disabling other VR-Applications you might have, like the Oculus App.
