hey I'm getting an issue where I open the game and it loads the EasyAntiCheat, initializes for about a minute, then says "Waiting for game.." for about another 3 minutes and after that the EAC blue screen will close and the game never opens even though it's still running in Steam and by that point I have to open task manager to close The Isle. I've tried verifying files, deleting the EAC_EOS/.sys files, deleted the Open XR folder, set it to run automatically and tried running it as Administrator. Does anybody else have or have had this issue?

is anyone else unable to save their graphic settings when you change them? Graphics are stuck on what they are set to by default. All set to high for things like textures, shadows, etc. When changed, these settings do save for as long as you are in the menu, but when you go to join a server and check settings again, they are all back to default (high). I have clicked the apply button every time. When you log out of a server and return to the menu, then open the graphics settings, it will display them all as high again.

I was wondering why my game was hitting low frames every time I would join servers even after changing all my settings, come to find out it never actually changed them. Does anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?

If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.

5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.

If you're stuck you can try going to the correct server channel (so #evrima-eu , #evrima-na ...) and ping the "Official server admin" role.
Tell them your in-game name + your specific server, so they can unstuck you.

Though all Official server admins are volunteers, and might not always be available >.<
If you don't get an answer in a few min or if your dino is low on water/food, it might be the best to log out for now and wait for a respons.

Are you two using an Anti-virus program ?
If you do, make sure it's not blocking the game. You should be able to add an exception to it, do that for the whole "The Isle" steam game folder.
Additional to that you can try adding an exclusion to your Windows firewall, like described in this link:

If you're using an Anti-virus program, make sure it's letting the game through.
Add an exclusion for the "The Isle" steam game folder to it.

You could try a complete manual reinstall.
A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first (if you can).
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files

hm ): It's hard to say what's causing it, sorry
You could try a complete manual reinstall.

A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first.
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
• Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

2.) Deleting your Local game files

• Press "Windows key" (or "Windows key" + "R" if that doesn't work)
• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
• Search for TheIsle folder.
• Delete the TheIsle folder once you've found it.

Why is my game taking 35-50% cpu when my friends is like at 21 constantly. Sometimes my CPU overall goes up to 100% and i just hear my PC louder from time to time which makes no sense to me cause i have a high end PC. If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Tell them your in-game name + your specific server, so they can unstuck you.

If you don't get an answer in a few min or if your dino is low on water/food, it might be the best to log out for now and wait for a respons.

Usually I can just press the W key and my dinosaur will walk in the direction that I point the camera. Md-game, my dino started only looking in the direction of my camera and to actually change walking direction, I needed to use the A S and D keys. If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Yeah essentially some textures will wig out and suddenly go very very low quality in texture in the customization the dinosaurs are all clay like in texture and in game usually the plants such as the grass and the rocks tend to have the issue

I’ve tried waiting to see if the textures will load in better and I’ve tried changing the rendering etc but those haven’t worked

If you delete the Saved folder however they will be lost.

if that didn't work either >.< Then try doing a complete manual uninstall of the isle:

A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first.
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
• Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

2.) Deleting your Local game files

• Press "Windows key" (or "Windows key" + "R" if that doesn't work)
• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
• Search for TheIsle folder.
• Delete the TheIsle folder once you've found it.

Now you can re-install the game over Steam, like normal.

You can also try and see if a file called steam_appid.txt is in the wrong location.
(you technically don't need it, but not having it sometimes causes issues)

Go to your game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library

  If you find the file there, put it in the:
  TheIsle -> Binaries -> Win64 folder

As a last think I can think of, you could check this Post, it's for another issue >.< but maybe it helps.
It's a shot-in-the-dark, but it's still worth a try.

The Problem is basically that some VR-applications can cause an issue with the Isle, especially something called OpenXR. So you could try deleting it, like the post describes.
If that doesn't work you can also try disabling other VR-applications you might have, like the Occulus app.

There are makes and models of mice that don't work with some games when it comes to binding them. I'd say at the moment The Isle is one of those games. I tried binding nightvision to my mouse button and it just doesn't work. I'd personally just keep it to the keyboard for now unfortunately.

If you're stuck you can try going to the correct server channel (so #evrima-eu , #evrima-na ...) and ping the "Official server admin" role.

anything i can do to make the game playable? i really really want to play but i’ve spent over an hour in it but it takes 5-8 minutes to load the map.
here’s what happens:
i join a server, create/load my dino
i spawn in, dino loads i can move but i’m floating in thin air while the map doesn’t load until 5-10 mins. even then, all the leaves and stuff don’t load either until i wait longer, by then my dino is already starving and i can’t really do anything

all i could do is run around really, and i got in a fight once and holy the lag spikes i could not

hmm, you can try joining a Server, then setting your fps limit to 1.
Then wait for the world to load in and put it back to what it was.
That works for some people!

Try disabling VSync. It oftens differs like "night and day" in terms of performance.
I have Nvidia G-SYNC with my hardware, so I can not speak for others; but disabling VSync allways helps LOTS in all of my cases, for some reason.

Hmmmm... I saw that you play in windowed mode as well - if you change that to FS it should have the potential to make some impact. And reduce the LOD, if you can.
Also eventually try tweaking the Anti Aliasing a bit down, as well as Ambient Occlusion and Screen Space Reflections.

Seems your CPU might be capable enough, but that your GPU is a little off, as this can be quite a "heavy" game in terms of graphics.... so lightening the heaviest graphical loads might make you able to gain some FPS, although it might turn into complete "potato mode" :S

Alright. Got a bit of trouble. All the gameplay is working find accept for one key feature. Night-Vision does not seem to exist other players have suggested the X key but it does not seem to work. I have checked settings and there is no option for night vision. Any Idea what is going on?

If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Any time I am booted to main menu, either from failing to reconnect, leaving a server, or booting the game, textures and anti-aliasing are set to epic regardless of what I previously saved. The only way I can change them is by saving graphics just before joining a server, and joining successfully on that attempt. Saving my graphics settings to the GameUserSettings.ini and setting it to Read Only DOES NOT fix this, and it will load epic settings unless I set it manually using the graphics settings. I have wiped local appdata of Isle and reinstalled the entire game several times and the bug persists even after that. It is not Geforce Experience as not only was it not active for the game, Geforce experience cannot override the settings. This is entirely gamebreaking, makes the game nigh unplayable for me, and makes getting into a server the most painfully obtuse thing ever and I seriously want to quit at this point.

If you cannot find servers after installing The Isle, go into steam, right click on the isle, go to properties, and make sure in "beta" it does not say none.. you need to have it on "Evirma"

There are none, however if you plug your specs into this site https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/input/the-isle it will give you a graph at the bottom that tells you how good your CPU GPU and Ram are to run Legacy. I have found that if you are about 20-25% over recommended you should be able to run Evrima between 40-60 FPS

I would like to bump this issue. It is still a problem and is still extremely debilitating. I can add to it that it's not just resetting my textures and anti-aliasing, but it resets any and all settings that have an epic option to epic. This started randomly while I was playing a few days ago and was not an issue before then. I am dejected and about ready to refund the game because at this point, despite meeting system requirements, I cannot play because I cannot set the settings below epic without changing it every single time I have to attempt to connect to a server. If anyone has any insight to potential fixes, no matter how extreme, I'd be pleased. At this point technical support ignored my previous ping and I don't think staff feel like even acknowledging my issue.

I have deleted every single file tied to The Isle in appdata and steam, reinstalled the entire game from scatch, and it still persists. Geforce isn't involved I don't believe, partially because it can't even overwrite these settings when I tried to make it do so. The settings reset whenever I enter the main menu. This started at random during a playing session, and didn't correlate to any applications being added to my system.

I have tried complete reinstall somewhere around 6 times, I've tried verifying integrity, I've tried deleting the config folder and verifying the settings, I've tried updating graphical drivers, and everything else that could come to mind.

The only way I can change the settings is by setting each one before attempting to connect to server, because if I ever am booted to the main menu it will reset all potential epic settings to epic.

I can apply, and it does apply settings, but they are set back to epic when I go back to the main menu, whether that be because I failed to connnect to a server, I leave a server, I crash during a session, or when I boot the game.

I have confirmed before that it's not just visual and that it actually sets all of the settings to epic

If I set the settings file to read only and set the textures to 0, launch the game and join any server, the textures are clearly at epic.

No other settings get reset, only ones that have the option epic.

Everything else saves properly.

Okay. Go to that AppData folder that I had you go to before but this time scroll down to [/Script/TheIsle.TIGameUserSettings]. At the very bottom of that section should be a framelimit. set that to 10 and start the isle and join a game.

If it's set to read only, and I set file settings, it will ignore them and load epic anyway. If I don't set read only, it overwrites them as epic whenever I launch the game.

Geforce Experience isn't the issue to my knowledge, since while it claims to be able to change the settings, it would want to change them to medium across the board, and when I try to make it optimize settings, it is unable to change them.

The only other app I would guess that could do anything is NVIDIA control panel, but I've never heard of it changing in-game settings.

Nor have I touched it in forever, and it happened mid session with no warning, so it couldn't be that.

They are set to 3. Just checked the file and verified that they are set to 3, and for good measure did a reboot. I set textures to 1, launched the game, and checked the file after booting. It is set to 3 despite not even opening the settings menu or clicking anything.

The act of launching the game itself seems to set all scalability groups other than resolution quality to 3.

Out of curiosity I edited the file while the game was running and set textures to 0. Loaded into game and textures are definitely not low.

Order of that operation: Edit file, click games, connect to a random server, then enter game, and textures are epic.

Quite a few people have been having this problem since the latest Update.
My hope is that it's something that can be fixed from a Hotfix. The Devs went into their Winter break not long after we got 6.0, so hopefully that issue can be resolved when they get back from their break >.<
