It can be finicky. Make sure youre facing them directly face to face. make sure you hold down N for the duration of the animation. If that doesnt work, I've had to log out and log back in to get it to work.

for those with that "Easy Anti-Cheat is not installed" issue, there are some steps you can do to solve it
--------------------------------- 1 -------------------------------
Go to the game folder. Right click game in steam, properties, local files, browse.
Should send you here: steamapps\common\The Isle

Delete EasyAntiCheat folder.
Then Verify intergrity of game files.

After this the game should download an insignificant small amount of files.
Run the game, now it installs EasyAntiCheat for you.
----------------------------------2--------------------------------

• Right Click The Isle [Evrima] in steam.
• Properties
• Local Files
• Browse
• Open EasyAntiCheat Folder
• Double click EasyAntiChaet_EOS_Setup. Most likely nothing will happen.
• Return to Properties / Local Files
• Verify integrity of the game files.
  -----------------------------------3--------------------------------
  For anyone else with this issue, go to the game directory

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle"

there is a file called InstallAntiCheat.bat, just run it and try running the game again.

(Update windows may work too if none of these doesnt work)

1: severe ghosting; this tends to be an issue at higher levels of antialeasing, however lowering the setting causes foliage to look just..awful and hurts the eyes to look at.
2: Very low FPS, even on empty servers.

I was wanting to know if the settings in c/appdata/local/theisle/saved/config/windowsclient/GameUserSettings.ini can be manually changed to maybe play around with some things like foliage quality, render distance, etc to be able to get some relief from these issues?

really i just want to be able to have antialeasing turned down, without the foliage looking terrible, or get rid of the ghosting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My specs are a FX8350 and an RX570 and i can barely run this game on lowest settings - like massive frame drops while just walking around or when a small fight is happening i can't do anything but lagging around. Devs said they were working on it when this first happened but it’s been kinda dead silent for a while on whether or not good progress is being made or if they think they’ll be able to drop a hotfix soon. Have you tried a server that is not full? Sometimes they show as almost full but are actually full.

Make sure you've got the isle allowed through your firewall first and foremost.
Make sure your gpu drivers are up to date.
Verify files on steam, check the document in the channel description to find out more about what can possibly be affecting you.

Pls do something with cheaters! Ive just lost my full grown deino to a group a 3 deinos. There were 2 full grown and a small 1 named nicol. Nicol have followed me and gave away my position to the adults. Ive managed to break the line of sight many times but Nicol seen trough any obstacle. No water, foliage, rock or ground were enough to hid me. Nicol came and the big albino and the brown one followed. The moment i was realised that nicol uses some kind of “i see u anywhere” cheat was when he/she were out of the water and i have deep under the water . I have moved farther and stood still but nicol just followed me with its head and came after me on the shore. If i stopped, he stopped too and did just the same as me all the time. Clearly nicol used some kind of cheat. Im good at playing deino and can hide pretty well. The behaviour of nicol was too conspicuous in this encounter. Nicol is a greenish gator currently near the dam area somewhere on EU 4 with its 2 friend

Yes im certain. I play only deino since its available to pick as a playable and i know how deinos can detect, hear, see or smell things. @rigid nexus hello sorry for the mention i just wanna let you know that i fixed it by doing the following

1 - in windows 10 , language settings , i installed all packs of English (United states) in the preferred languages section by adding the language and clicking on option on the language i added and installing all packs from it

2 - in the language settings i changed the region also to United states , in the country or Region section
and same for the current format section too , to English (United states)

and its working now , no more (??????) format language in the game

Then Verify intergrity of game files.

After this the game should download an insignificant small amount of files.
Run the game, now it installs EasyAntiCheat for you.

This is a generic error meaning the Client (you) cannot connect to the server(isle server)
it can be due to a number of things but
First try to make sure the Isle is allowed through your firewall, make sure nothing else is running in the background (unnecessary tasks) and try more.
