@lofty haven your drawings are very nice! I recommend when working on creating motion and doing more dynamic poses you use a line of action. A line of action helps make a skeleton for posing your characters so you can see it better before putting in all the hard work.

so i use a ipad pro (dont get one there pricey as hell) so i use thier defult resolution
the brush is a sketch brush that i lowered the opacity down so i can just build over it

i dont really do lineart i kind of just pile everything ontop of eachother and erase as i go

I’m currently just making it that “diamond” shape, but their colors being able to change will allow them to change its appearance to look more like an insect or maybe even a meat scrap

Sorry forgot to respond! They’ll be able to change their colors to blend with the environment but on the other hand will also be able to brighten certain parts to stand out

I imagine they’ll cling to trees, blending in, but the tip of their tail could be bright orange-red to look like food

Then when something approaches they’ll zip down onto whatever they lured over

That could also work, yeah!

Either they could change colors on the diamond in individual splotches to make a shape similar to prey or they could just make it red or orange to mimic meat or fruit

Hi! I recommend looking at references online and to sketch out your basic shapes first, meaning a circle for the head, neck, etc, basically a “skeleton” if that makes sense

If you’re not new at drawing you could also reference living animals to get some basic shapes!

Remember, tracing to learn shapes at first is okay, just as long as you’re not claiming the art as your own

I’m doing well! I’ve been taking a break from isle-art for a while while I’ll try to get some ideas

Ideas for the ptera’s wings

I’ve been rather stumped on em for a while

Maybe sketch or think of some wing designs, though it’s okay if you aren’t able to! I just have to use all my brain power

By bird I mean the ptera

Looking at the Tissoplastic description it says they’re extremely sharp, very very fast and are able to camouflage

at this point the reference is just so obvious there's like almost no reason to credit

because you can literally just find it by typing "jurassic world t-rex" or something

Absolutely nothing is wrong with reference, but when I’m able to recognize what specifically was referenced, I feel some sort of credit is due.

Referencing is super important in art and it’s impossible not to do it. Even with things that might seem obvious, I feel like it’s the right thing to do.

Yeah, I understand that if it’s heavily referenced then you should credit but if it’s just barely similar then I don’t see it really being the same thing. Therefore crediting something that you didn’t heavily base something off of seems weird if we all did that then I’d bet each of our referenced drawings would likely have 1-3 credits to random images that barely resemble the finished product. (Unless you used no ref at all ofc) I never saw the image so I’m not sure how referenced it was. So this is just my opinion on barely referenced images

Hello, @lethal storm I can't be sure but the problem was in the legs. Fixed the form of the nearest leg (sorry if it was you art style) and rotated it more. I moved the back one forward, maybe it disorientated you so much. And I recommend to make tenos tail bigger. these all are just my recommendations, don't use it if you don't need it

though to answer those questions
how long elder phase would last- i don't really know, given that snakes can live quite a while (and this is a rather large snake) i'd say it could have a relatively long lifespan for a playable (no where near deino's near endless life span tho certainly long)
Nesting could be done similarly to Anacondas or other large Boas, either stealing a burrow or making a nest in mud or tree trunks
Little snakes are small but certainly not tiny, they could survive mostly by hiding and playing stealthy as most other babies do, and they'd probably eat AI or other new-spawns
As for what hunts the snake- Titanoboa can be combated by most things, even the things that it preys upon, all depends on who sees who first. Most of the upper half of its diet (the bigger boys) can pose significant threat to a boa until they're constricted, and anything past that is dangerous outright. Boa wouldn't be able to properly constrict or meaningfully fight off anything larger than bary / carno, so it'd simply have to lay low and avoid them. Being caught in the open would be a death sentence, especially if you don't have anything to slink off into if something comes by

Anything it can constrict efficiently is anything it can stomach, so once prey is dead and constricted it'd just swallow the entire body

I imagine there'd be a brief period afterwards (say 10 mins or so) where movement is significantly decreased, stam regen is slowed, etc, because you just swallowed a massive creature

during this period you could vomit up the body if you need to escape, though this costs you your meal, or you tough it out and manage to hide for the time

after the 10 mins are up, the debuffs go away and your meal is completely yours, filling your stomach & food % for quite some time!
(since you aren't very fast and there's a lot of downtime between meals, each hefty meal will last you a good while as you stalk and pursue your next target)
