It's not fair and undermines the fundamental playability of the game because we can't trust the official management to preserve what we build over weeks and months and years.

Priority should go to preserving them rather than any current dinos we may have made in the meantime, or the players are forever standing on a stool at the gallows waiting for something to kick it out from under us. Why would we bother?

If the devs can't accomplish that, you know, not trying to be ad hominem but that would be a serious ethical weakness that I just couldn't abide.

has to be in your patrol zone or migration zone to be considered diet, its those eyes and the footprints in your scent bar. relog if the patrol zones stuck far away, it might not always refresh as you move around

Lol I'm the opposite. But it depends on how I die really. Like if it was a legit fight and you outplayed me, you earned my gear. If a rat kills me, then yes I'm hiding. And if ARC kills me, I want someone to find my body so that my gear is at least valuable to someone and not just gone.

as a carnivore your diet never changes though.

The dinos diet only changes when they are away from a migration zone, the age and stuff dont matter

so as you get older you get pushed towards the migration zone so you can meet more of the species you're playing as? that's neat

Migrations and patrols swap after X hours or after they empty, and when your migration/patrol swaps your diet swaps

You gotta migrate there yourself and you can meet other herbivores on the way and carnivores, basically like how it works in real life

how the mechanic is intended to work, but it doesnt always function that way. ur best bet to find others is still to coordinate on another platform like asking on the discord if theres any other stegos on your server
