That growth little bar is the only thing that tells you that you're making actual progress, but once you get there... there's nothing else to do, you kinda have to make your own objectives

I mean that's really any survival game tbh minus the nesting. Just kinda live until you eventually die. The "objective" is keep yourself alive
How you do that is up to you and ultimately decides if it's fun for you or not

Well, with small details and small mechanics it would make a huge difference. Rivers have already done some. Animals having to do other things but to kill easy AI, like rolling around their heads in grass, scratch back against tree, migrate to other side of map for food (and having to cross dangerous rivers with deinos), carnivores following large herds for food, seasons when herds dont have to move so u can nest.
All u need is imagination and a sense of nature, instead of a deathmatch game lol

I think giving some difficulty information like how long it will take to grow a particular dinosaur at the spawn in screen would also be a useful feature. Basically nullifying the arguement of the game using the growth timers to avoid the refund timer on steam, for example
it'd also help streamers with choosing something beginner friendly. Forsen for example started off with triceratops which is obviously a nightmare for someone brand new
