I'm not really sure if this falls under evrima troubleshooting or legacy troubleshooting so I'm just assuming legacy.. does anyone know how I can get rid of this constantly pending isle workshop update? I can't go into the steam workshop and manually unsubscribe because the workshop doesn't exist anymore, but manually deleting the workshop folder for the isle didn't work either.. 🤔

• Type "Run" to launch Run program.

• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.

• Search for TheIsle folder.

• Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located. No adverse effects will take place by deleting this folder, it will reset your keybinds to the correct keys.

That's not how game bans work, first thing I would try is restarting their computer

Ok i have tried absolutely everything our server hoster have suggested but i can not get up the real servers, only the fake servers. Our real servers occasionally pop up after ive hit refresh 6000 times but lord have mercy if there isnt a spot because then i need to refresh 6000 more times.

Ive tried connecting trough steam but it only gives me a ping instead of actually putting me into the server when there is a spot. Neither will it let me add the server IP to the favorites list.

What do i do?

To fix this please reset your system’s Winsock connection settings by opening a Windows command prompt as administrator (go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories, right-click on “Command Prompt” and choose “Run as administrator”) and entering “netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes). Reboot your computer and check if your problem is fixed now.
If you're a Windows 10 user simply type "CMD" into the search bar at the bottom left, right click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator", then continue following the instructions above.
If solution above does not solve the issue, a uninstall / clean install may fix this issue. When you uninstall, delete the Isle folder in Steam Apps to make sure any remaining files are gone.

Hi. Yeah I got the servers back but now I got a new problem.

The game ran just fine on my pc up to today where I’m experiencing insane frame drops frequently. I’m not talking this “oh a velo spawned” frame drop, the game freeze for between 5-10 seconds making gameplay impossible.

It's a mystery update. Update game if there is one or reinstall, Or try this if reinstalling didn't work right click isle in steam > properties > local files > browse local files > delete everything there > back to properties > verify integrity of game files

Your dinos are saved on the server you play on and not in your game files. Switching branch will not make you lose them @acoustic leaf

Anyone have a fix for legacy saying "steam subsystem failure" whenever I launch the game? I have evrima downloaded on Steam and then legacy on my desktop, normally I would be able to fix this by launching steam and and reloading the game but since I updated the game earlier and moved legacy back onto my desktop it isn't fixing as it normally would. As a result I cannot see any servers on legacy.

For anyone trying to do the dual version installation:
This fixes the Steam Subsystem error when trying to run legacy

Step 1: Once you have the legacy version copied wherever you want it, make sure The Isle is not running and open up the folder containing those files.

Step 2: From that folder (should see the TheIsle executable to know you're in the right spot) go into the folders to: > TheIsle > Binaries > Win64

Step 3: In the folder you're now in (Win64) you should see a file called TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping. If you do, then you're in the right place. In this folder, create a text file named steam_appid

Step 4: open up your new steam_appid text file that you just created and add 376210 to the file. Just the numbers, nothing else. that is The Isle's Steam App ID.

Step 5: Save the text file.

Step 6: Check and see if the game starts properly and you should be set with no more steam subssystem error message and can play normally like before the update

Then I click on it to open and it gives me options to open with like internet explorer,notepad,paint,visual studio code
Is that supposed to happen ? If so which one should I open with?

Yeah I have this very same popup but because there aren't any tech support people here I decided to switch evrima version of game to legacy now over night, instead of using the non-steam game version so hopefully that one'll work.

It will, but the current legacy version needs a text file next to the real exe (the windows shipping one) to let it know to start steam up. with clean installs, it doesn’t seem to be always putting the file there, so many end up with a “Steam Subsytem Error”.

Yes, that's what I'm doing at the minute. But this does not work when I have Evrima downloaded too.

When I have both versions of the game on my computer at once, I cannot play Legacy by opening it through Steam, because that is how I would access Evrima (I access Legacy by using a Shortcut on my Desktop). So this unfortunately does not solve my problem, as I still get that "Steam Subsystem Failure" message when I load up Legacy when I have Evrima downloaded too.

Yo guys I need help I followed a tutorial to get legacy and evrima at the same time but when I load legacy it pops up a message saying steam subsystem failure and it can't do online. Please help

If you have both downloaded due to the latest update there was a missing file
Step 1: Once you have the legacy version copied wherever you want it, open up the folder containing those files.

Step 2: From that folder (should see the TheIsle executable to know you're in the right spot) go into the folders to: > TheIsle > Binaries > Win64

Step 3: In the folder you're now in (Win64) you should see a file called TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping. If you do, then you're in the right place. In this folder, create a text file named steam_appid.

Step 4: open up your new steam_appid text file that you just created and add 376210 to the file. Just the numbers, nothing else. that is The Isle's Steam App ID

Step 5: Check and see if the game starts properly and you should be set with no more steam subssystem error message and can play normally like before the update

Have you tried to go to the Steam settings, and then change ping amount? (Steam (left upper corner in the Steam app) -> Settings -> In-game -> Server browser Pings / Minute)
I had it set on 1000, and it worked fine then. But it is mostly individual setting, so - try also other amounts if the "1000" will not work

Yes, I have the same problem. I tryed to uninstall the game and re-install, but the problem continue. Other step that i followed was change the name of the original game and Install the Evrima. When I installed the evrima, I changed the name of second subdirectory too and I rename it to "Evrima" and re-install the game again. But, when I did it, if i enter to the game from steam, i've the same problem: I cannot use the host. But if I enter in TheIsle carpet (Programfiles(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\theisle.exe) i cannot access to the multiplayer, but to the host yes.

Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files.

It should open up your Isle folder.

At the very top of the file path click "common"

It takes you back to a folder list of all your Steam games.

Keep that open, we'll go back to that in a moment. Now right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > uninstall game. After it's uninstalled you'll need to go back to that list of game folders and delete "The Isle" folder. That way there is no trace of The Isle, so when you reinstall the game it doesn't re-use any corrupted content that would normally remain after a normal uninstall.

To switch to evrima version I have to mess with the files by just renaming them “TheIsle” and “Evrima”. When I swapped to evrima the game looked fine. But now i’ve switched back to the normal version of the game the graphics are extremely terrible, even though i have them set to the highest. It’s unbearable to play and i’ve tried everything, even reinstalling the entire game.

All focus is on Evrima development - they also didn't try to "fix" gamma.
The updates i believe was made to stop flashing textures/shadows.

Hi guys, so i've got this problem while installing The Isle on my PC. D:\Games\steamapps\appmanifest_376210.acf . Does anybody know why i have this problem. Also i want to mention that when im changing the installing folder to C:\ it works perfectly fine, but my C:\ folder isn't meant for games because it hasn't got that much space as D:\ folder.

I'm not sure. If you were banned that usually means you just need to move on to a new server and don't act up so you won't be banned again. It has nothing to do with the isle, or it's devs.

Maybe hit up their discord, but idk if you can find it after you're banned from it lol.

my legacy isle is broke. I switched from envirma to legacy and when I hopped into a legacy server I use to play on I couldnt hit the esc menu, the insert menu, I couldnt activate night vision, I couldnt attack. i tried installing and it didnt work either

Someone please help me. The legacy version for the last few months has not been showing like 90% of the servers I search for. It just can’t find them. All the filters are set correctly. I have the steam ping set to 500, but have tried them all. And I have all the ports open for the isle through the window firewall and security.

Even if I leave the server name field blank and all the filters empty. I only get like one page worth of results.

trying to download both evrima and the isle legacy followed all the steps but evrima didnt automatically install so i was told to do it normally now I launched the isle legacy using the file like shown and this popped up and no servers are showing

I tried the other style where you use adding a non steam game by making a copy of the isle and updating the original file but for some reason the copied version wont connect to the steam server which keeps me from joining servers

There is no way to host a server with the game. You have to install a the isle server as the installation guides show you.
But you cannot run your game and the server on the same workstation.

So I was trying to get my admin controls on the Legacy branch to work on my server, being as I can't see names when in admin mode to see player ID's and stuff. But when I went to try to reset my controls they changed to EVRIMA controls. So everything like "Pick up body" the lack of the night-vision option, and "Air brake" were there instead of my Legacy controls. So when I go into a server I cannot do anything but walk and look around. Nothing else.

i know dis CONTROL KEYS NOT WORKING (You can't sniff and so on.)
In that case you should delete your save folder to reset your whole settings for the game.

► Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
► Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
► At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
