I've verified the data, I have clean-re installed the game twice, restarted my pc, went over some of the isle's files that someone else was told to go on and the files were completely fine.

Nop, steam just opens the message "preparing to open the isle" the message closes and it ends there. And if I try to launch it from steam then the "play" button goes like this:
"PLay> Stop/Cancel > Play"

Hello. I'm having problems with keybinds, i can't use a lot of them (tab, dino profil, chat, esc, attacks). I tried to change them, i still can't use those, i also tried to reset and doing it again, still the same ones i can't use. Anyone had this too and has a solution for it ?

Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

don't know what others view on this would be, but I don't really see that much point in fixing a few problems with legacy when the main point of focus is evrima. This has brought in countless problems that I wonder if it is really worth sorting them out. If a fix has introduced more issues that it has solved, is it worth attempting more with this version? Would it not be better to basically downgrade back to where the game was at least reasonably stable? If there is any way I could remove this update my game has had and just play on the old servers, that would be just fine. But currenty, I can't join any servers at all (not even .56) without the game freezing or kicking me out of both the game and steam.

This isn't big problem but when the last update that came, not too long ago for Legacy, Dinos for me, changed from the newest ones (For Legacy idk, maybe those walk animations from 2019 end) to the older ones (2018-2019 animations) examble, Trikes run animation for me looks like it's trying to go Fast, like how cheetah or lion runs. Idk, but that kinda, like front leg's go under the body between the back leg's, and then the back leg's go next to each front leg

it so nice that the devs did a horrible update!!! graphics are way off, lag is still bad, bodies not being edible due to lag biting and being in different places for the pack, the day to night being all of like 10 min, and lighting and shadow's in general being off. i wish they would have not done the update 2 days ago and just left it as it was! i do not plan of playing evrima until there are at least up to tier 4 dinos its not worth the time.

@pallid sparrow Not really, for me it runs even smoother than before but the freezing lag spikes when anything spawns or is near your vision last a long time. I think different people have different problems.

the more i hear people say that the reason why evrima s being made is because this happens when legacy is updated, then why has any work been done on this version at all. Surely it would be pretty easy to undo this and just go back to the previous version rather than spend this much time trying to fix countless bugs that have just been introduced. Then the focus can go back on evrima.

you likely will have if you joined a different server yesterday
if you join a server ending with the version number 054 or 055, it tells you your game is out of date rather than the fact it is a server running the old version
if you could join yesterday, it likely was on a server that was 56 which is the latest patch

@light turtle May have to do with how full your hard drive is. Consider deleting games if that's the case. Also try fully deleting the files from your pc, then restart steam, then try again.

@honest river That could be environmental.. not sure. Can you give a brief rundown of your specs? Make sure if you're using a laptop, that its not accidently using the integraded gpu instead of the dedicated one. Can cause massive fps stutter.

But calling it a "scheme for people to play Evrima" is meh.
Technically they could just have let hackers gone wild in Legacy, then people would complain about nothing being done at all.
Now something is being done & the bugs that appears (Game breaking stuff red) is 100% something i think no dev wants to keep in, and wants to patch it out.
They could just have shut down the legacy branch, to force people - At least Amarok is trying to make the game better for us all, and hopefully have less hackers around in total ๐

Amarok stated before in this chat here that, the game (legacy) hes developing on (or provided) looks to be a future patch of the game that never reached to get released (When it got scrapped & Evrima became focus).
So alot of the changes is not something he forced in, but it was simply there by default.

To have sound continue to play while the window isn't the focus, I used to be able to do UnfocusedVolumeMultiplier=1.0 found in \Users\[username]\AppData\Local\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
...in the Engine.ini. I was told that it's DefaultEngine.ini found in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Isle\TheIsle\Config

Ok so I'm having an issue with my game and I dont know if a lot of people have this problem or not, but last week the main custom server I play on disappeared from the servers list. A few days ago, the Official EU servers disappeared. And now the Official NA servers disappeared too.
Basically I have nowhere to play.
I have already looked this issue up and Punch's method, published on a steam thread, doesn't work for me. Besides that, there wasnt a whole lot of credible solutions I could try.
If anyone could help me out with this it would be awesome.

Insane lags after update, yesterday i saw how 2 gigas and 2 spoons run into fight they get one bite .. then was lag rollback 7-8second, then i saw they again how they run into fight. servers ping show 20-25ms .. but in true we must have 800-950ms ... dinos jumping and laging same as on evrima in firsts days.

I STILL cannot host a private server when I'm logged into Steam, and have to log out of Steam and start the game from a desktop shortcut to host private sessions. well based on past experience, my game crashes when it laggs an awful lot. So maybe it is similar to you and it is just asking too much for my PC to handle
i basically get to the first percentage of the loading screen, then it always freezes or crashes both the game and steam
we are 3 / 4 updates later after the first one a few days ago and it is still the same. It is incredibly broken and I just wish it could go back to how it was, but obviously the hacking thing was a problem.

@swift crystal Roadkill dryos were put back on Nublar Servers, by moderators of Nublar, not by Devs of The Isle, on Official servers Dryos were still present the whole time and were never removed.
They added dryos back in because devs of the Isle, fixed somethign about them making servers crash.
And the game cannot be correctly updated, reason why they created Evrima, updates are buggy. From what Dondy said. Dont know how , but they seem to be able to run a game, wihtout having apparently the codes of it, which is odd. In any case, the laggyness u find on the Nublar server aint due to the Dryos

If yes, you should just wait and touch nothing.
DId you also reset back your video settings? After the update they went back to Epic automatically

And Dryos made most private servers crash because of their burrows, and when you have 150 or 200 players, thats buggy, because, player bodies, AI bodies, and so on, make the game lagg

@royal olive It only sometimes freezes. The vast majority of the time, it crashes the game and steam after the map loading gets to this percentage. I did indeed notice the graphics settings went back to pretty high. I only have about the minimum required graphics card (GTX 960) which did work pretty well if most graphics are on low. When I next get the chance, i will try and verify my files, but I'm not quite sure how to do that so would apprichiate some information on how to validate them. I will also add that I happen not to have windows and use Linux running Ubuntu 18.04, but once it was put through wine ( a program that supports windows games through Linux) that supported this game in this operating system well, so i don't think this will be related.

One thing that is really getting on my nerves is the eye-adaption feature being enabled. and when it is night its getting pitch black moving the camera above your char (for eating or drinking) when you actually can see enough without nightvision enabled. like in the very early state its getting darker. ugh.

i haven't experienced the new version since 0.54, but at least the NV there makes everything close brighter no matter how bright it is around you. IF it is darker in certain areas close to you with NV enabled, then I think I would agree that is a bit strange

So my game was working just fine last night. However, upon logging in this morning my game crashes everytime the message of the day appears on my screen no matter what server I'm on.
My screen will go completely black and I can't do anything until I restart my computer. I meet all the requirments, and have even done a uninstall/reinstall after deleteing the isle folder.
Can someone help me please? This is really annoying especially considering it was working just fine yesterday.

i keep getting these small rubber-banding issues when i play on survival servers on V3, anyone know how to get rid of it? it's a bit annoying, i never had issues like that before. Like when I'm walking I keep getting teleported back just a little bit every 10 seconds or so

i am not sure! everyone is having the same problems, its from when they did the update a few days ago they messed everything up. ping shows better, there is a lot of rubber banding, then broken bodies not showing in the same area for people to eat (all over the place like 4 different spots) or just not being able to eat cause they cliched like when they had slid off a hill, and recordings are all messed up. xbox is in quarter screen for me (the isle is the only thing that dose that for me so far) and the in game is horrible to get names / steam ids from.

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

I'll say again, I really think these updates should go back to how it was in 0.54. The only acception being the work to get rid of the hackers. The attempted fixes on other things seems to have caused no end of trouble. I couldn't join any servers, could only connect and get to the first percentage of the loading screen then it would kick me out the game and steam instantly. I waited several days and 3 - 4 updates later and I still couldn't join servers. During this time, i am hearing FAR more complaints about numerous other issues that seemed to have been caused by these updates rather than the few intended fixes. It isn't worth having the dryo and taco playable over the game being apsolutely full of glitches and in my case, unplayable. I decided to uninstall it and then do a fresh install. I now can't even open the game. I happen to use Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 - Don't have windows) but that has been good enough to play getting close to 1000 hours in the past year, so I believe it is related to the update and not my operating system that meant I couldn't join the servers. I now need to work out how to even be able to open the game. As I'm implying, I think all other than the work to get rid of the hackers should be undone. It seems to have made it worse and I think quite some majority of players that currently want to stick with Legacy and not play Evrima yet will likely agree. Why are we getting very little info on the reasons any other "updates" have been done on Legacy when legacy is the big update? Make very little sense to me. I really hope this gets solved and Legacy gets left alone at least as stable as it was a week ago.

Tap windows key + S, search firewall and hit enter, click allow an app through firewall and scroll down to The Isle and click the boxes. Try that, could be a firewall issue. Restart steam, see if there's another update. Verify file integrity in steam, if that doesn't work, restart your pc, if that doesn't work, uninstall game and reinstall, if that doesn't work, update gpu drivers.

Okay so Iโm having trouble getting legacy to work. After the legacy hotfix (my game is set on automatic updates), none of the servers that I usually play on could be found. There were a bunch of empty random servers and just one Chinese server that was nearly full. So I thought that if I tried uninstalling the Isle and reinstalling it, the servers would show up. But after reinstalling the Isle, the game crashes when I try to run it and it shows this. Can anyone help?

Try this:
- Adjust your Steam In-Game server browser: Max pings / minutes.
At the top left of Steam youโll see a little button labeled โSteamโ, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.

I also don't get paid by this company so no I will not "trouble shoot" a 5 year old product.. we should all be able to download and play no problems without having to do "troubleshooting" that's the whole point in buying a product.

Unfortunately many games and developers need trouble shooting support forms to upkeep their game due to ever changing software and hardware developments conflicting with especially older games.
Lighting and shadows are still an issue as of right now in Legacy. Some lods cut in and out still. They have not been fixed yet.

That being said, a product 5 years old should require zero troubleshooting only updates and slight adjustment to settings if need be.. if your having to troubleshoot games on the regular your PC is extremely out of date or the development team just sucks. Hoping these guys pull up there socks and release a statement on timelines with there "fixes" it might reduce the amount of traffic in discord/comments/reviews.. but hey what do I know Ive only assisted development teams for 16 years

I'm getting the DX11 error, and I have DX12 atm. From my understanding in previous experiences this is fixed by locating the gameusersettings.ini and changing the preferred version so it selects the correct one. Where is this located in the isles folders?

Ive noticed a few hitbox changes.
- Cama's Stomp attack has been moved further back and now doesnt hit in front but more in the back
- Theri's standing attacking only hits once. However their seems to be a connection with the amount of times it hits while someone is running through you
- Rex's hitbox has been changed aswell somehow but i cant really be sure how.
- Rex's hurtbox seems to have moved a bit from the actual model while moving. (similar to how carnos hurtbox used to be in front of him while he was running)

Very few will, but has anyone managed to get the game working with Linux (Ubuntu) since the recent load of Legacy updates? I initially couldn't join any servers, so I tried reinstalling the game and now I can't even launch it. The failure to join servers was related to the in game problems, but my issue now is likely to be to do with my operating system. It says it is successfully installed, but when you press play on either steam or the desktp shortcut, it just says "Preparing to lauch The Isle" then that message dissaperas and goes no further. It used to at that stage come up with the isle logo then launch the game. I've managed to play close to 1000 hours with Linux, so I'm unsure why it would no longer be compatible.

When I start playing, my Dino starts stuttering when I start walking forward. It fixes when I do literally anything movement, but when I try to eat or drink the animation keeps restarting and I end up not being able to do the action

If you are going to implement adjusting vision at night, please do it correctly. Not like it is right now that if you look down it goes pitch black and you look up it goes lighter. Don't implement functions that are not finished. You really fucked up the whole game with the update and the lightning/vision is just one thing of many.

I am finding it hard to load into servers. I used to be able to easily load in and get to playing but now I load, see my creature for a split second before I get sent directly back to the menu. I have reinstalled, verified files, and lowered my settings to see if any of these affected how I loaded in. Is there any other solution to fix this?

I updated my game from steam then opened it said my game was outdated then I opened steam again to restart it but still is outdated am I doing something wrong?

I got an update of the game and I updated it but when I try to enter a server it takes me out and says Outdated client your game is outdated please restart steam update and try again. But I already restarted steam and that poster keeps appearing and I also restart my pc but it tells me the same thing. What should I do or what can I do?

At what point does inviting not work? Clicking the actual button? Can you not open your tab menu?
@lilac salmon As in, when I try to invite someone in the game by the normal means, my friends can't see my invite at all, and nothing processes even when they spam click F1.

Not sure if the patch was supposed to fix the messed up, flickering and missing foliage lighting but... It didn't.
Also bad graphical stutter/lag still on some servers? doesn't seem map specific nor caused by connection/ping. Same crap that happens when turning a lot as giga or running as cama, but it happens with every dinosaur.
