...And the host option doesn't want to work for me now. Just got the game today, and after pulling my computer out of sleep mode, I started up the game, which worked fine, till I went to host a world to test some stuff, and as soon as I click the button to get in the world, I get a black screen, music and sounds still playing in the background, but no visuals. (I have both restarted my PC, and reinstalled the game, no change.)
im not able to find the official servers in game, how can i fix this?
@final rover this seems to be happening to a bunch of people :c
@final rover @midnight venture Try this:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
That fixed it for the last two people who DM'd me
@devout crag DM me your system specifications.
@lilac thistle I followedd all instructions, it didnt do anything. 😦 I still have to wait a bit for servers to pop up, and then about 15 servers pop up. I refresh, and then 10 different servers pop up.
@midnight venture What are your max servers set to? As that sounds like an internet speed issue.
I just find that strange because google and youtube are super quick to pop up
max results are 1000
Try bumping max results down to 100 and see if it loads any faster
ok
Its not loading any faster, but more servers are popping up. Again, the servers are different everytime I load in
^^^ Scratch that, more servers are not popping up it was just a "lucky refresh" i guess
Hey there, today multiple black outs happened in my area, but after that steam told me that i haven't installed the isle. After that, i checked and tried booting it up from the file in steamapps/common/theisle; it worked, but i can't boot it up from steam without installing it all over again. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thank you in advance
How to disable nesting on server? bServerNesting dont work
Ask in #server-hosting you will have a better at getting an answer than here. @slender crescent
I can no longer eat, I've tested relogging, closing and reopening the game, killing different dinos and changing locations. Everybody that was with me at the time can't eat either after we all met up at aviary.
Edit: I can't drink either, just tested that. It's been like this since yesterday, really not sure what I can do here.
Edit 2: I've verified my game files, I'm about to resort to reinstalling the game all together since it's a short download anyways.
Edit 3: Game files are supposedly "valid" though I argue otherwise. I'm reinstalling it.
Edit 4: I still can't eat or drink. I've reinstalled the game, I'm losing my mind right now what in gods name is going on.
EDIT: System information in here https://1drv.ms/t/s!AgLBFZ54t5oKjlkFoxqGZoMjP0QP?e=NwD1da
I have an issue with my graphics card, for this game exclusive. From the moment I start the game, tabbing out, or being in the race selection/skin colour selection screen causes exponentially longer freezes and a crash at the end depending on how long the game has been running (scales up quickly to the point where i have to restart the client everytime i want to respawn after a few minutes). This happens because the graphics card is somehow not processing the game anymore.
I tried validating and reinstalling the game files, updating the graphics card driver, even completely uninstalling and then freshly installing the driver again. Had an issue like this with no other game before :/ Really frustrating, I hope anyone has an idea. I'll add a task manager cutout from my GPU's workload. The 40% is what the game usually takes up when I am ingame and spawned into the map.
Why did you omit the CPU information? Need that too........
<@&401466542140817419> I'm still having issues and the game is unplayable and has been unplayable for 2 days. I can't eat or drink after passing by aviary. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game entirely, validating files and everything. It's across servers/dinos.
Character limit and stuff. Should've probably put it behind a link or something. Actually, hang on
known issue with AMD processor @scenic torrent
see this thread on the forum
Oh, i probably didn't see that because i was looking for GPU specific issues since I thought it was the one being at fault
My bad
dont worry hehe just letting you know that some work around can be found in that thread
@waxen zenith did you try deleting your saved folder?
close the game ,
type %localappdata% in your taskbar search box and press enter .
Scroll down to The Isle , Open it and delete the ''Saved'' folder inside
you're welcome
Ok, so I finally found a fix for my "Host Closed Connection"
I removed everything steam related on my pc. Uninstalled all games (~500GB of games), uninstalled steam and deleted every file that was or might have been related to steam. Reinstalled it 100% fresh, no pre-existing folders (Important! For me anyways)
After re-installing steam, I re-installed the Isle to the same drive steam is installed on.
The Isle works great now.
@pale pike I know you frequent this channel, and I know lots of people have had this problem and were never able to fix it.
Hello can anyone help me, i cant seem to pick up any official server and well most servers actually, if i disable official from my filters it only picks up 1 server, and when i search for servers through steam i only get a handful that shows up, this only happened to me once before, after i bought the game
Can anyone help me fix this problem https://gyazo.com/f418cca1d794dc564a3007d1f44a25b1
Can anyone help me figure out why my server isn't showing up?
@sly nimbus Ask in #server-hosting
follow the link below to get your system specifications and copy paste them here @inner grove
<@&401466542140817419> can one of you send me a DM please
Hai so when i load the game and click play no servers show up (Its been like this for a few weeks). How can i fix it?
Anyone experience a problem that prevents you from using certain keys in game? For example when in game I cant press escape, or shift to sprint, or insert.. I can eat/drink with E and lay down with H. Really weird and random problem. Anyone have any ideas? My keys work everywhere else. Including in other games. Its only the isle that the certain keys dont work
Update: Uninstalled an reinstalled and now no keys work. Not even camera movements with the mouse.
@frosty surge try this if you haven’t:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
@scarlet chasm Ty.
hiya, I want to join the EU servers but I can only see US servers 1 and 2
I'm trying to run the isle on Linux and it's failing to launch. I just updated my drivers I'm running the latest drivers, but I did that as a fix to it not launching. I managed 25hrs of high qality gameplay before this happened, I don't know what to do or how to bugfix this
Does anyone know where I can find the error log for the game launcher?
@vague jay This article posted in 27JUN2018 is pertinent to your situation, Linux support has been phased out: https://steamcommunity.com/games/TheIsle/announcements/detail/1702806817968306649
I'll also need to update your nickname in here, if you don't want to yourself, to something utilizing standard characters for tagging purposes.

When it comes to reporting someone that openly used game hacks (spawning in as sandbox dino in survival mode) with proof etc. where would I have to adress it?
@remote tiger you can DM Punchpacket or any of us admins
Alright, thank you!
Has anyone found a fix for the no servers popping up on ANY of my multiplayer games? Please let me know. I know im not the only one btw so thats why im asking xD
virus protection is one of the big factors of the no server problem. me and my friends had to turn it off every time we start the game to see servers
its a bit annoying but it works
About 3 days ago I had a whole bunch of servers available, but 2 days ago I go to the Island and see only 20 servers and every day there are less and less available.
I checked the antivirus, it does not block anything, the
firewall does not block anything too.
Yes, my problem is not at all like the others, because all the servers were initially available to me for the begginig, but for some reason they began to disappear sharply. I tried to change the region in the Steam settings, but it did not help.
The strangest thing is that through Steem’s servers I see a whole bunch of servers(screenshot 1), but I can’t access them or interact with them somehow, while in the game I can see only 20 servers(screenshot 2) .
I’m connected to the Internet not with Wi-Fi, but directly from the router.
Help me please!
And there screenshot 2
won't let me make a female pls help
Kapho what antivirus do you use
Open an Administrator level command prompt
- Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
- Right click Command Prompt
- Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
- Type ipconfig /flushdns
- Hit enter
- Type netsh winsock reset
- Hit enter
- Reboot your computer
- Open up The Isle
@earnest apex
Also add theisle.exe into your firewall/anti virus exclusion list
Look to see if your steam set launch option for the isle are emtpy , other than that there isnt any known fix for that visual glitch @lethal gorge
I mean beside the obvious windows / gpu drivers update
@midnight venture I have only this antivirus
@pure fractal do the same thing I posted above regarding the /flushdns
Also even if your antivirus / firewall isnt blocking anything, make sure to add the game to their exclusion list too
I had to delete my antivirus in order for servers to sstart showing up
Hello i have a problem to find a server ingame. 2 days ago i saw the server and could join but now only in steam server list. If i try to join over Steam, it pushs me on an other server of this community :S. Any Idea? Is there a way to join ingame with IP? Plz help
hi everyone there is an AI issue with my server when u kill them u get only one bite and no gore or ribs left can someone tell me how to fix it pls
uhhm what's wrong with EU1? can't join but I can join to US1
So a friend of mine has a problem. The problem is, that he can barley find ANY server on the game. He can't say it in here himself, cuz he's banned from the discord
You can have him dm me @honest river
I can't seem to find any of the Official servers through the search. Is there direct links somewhere? or is my game bugged.
I have changed the max ping to each different setting and it still doesn't work
Turn it off and on again
So helpful lmao I've had this problem since I got the game about a week ago
@hallow gull Have you tried all the solutions found here?

I'll give the drivers a try since I know I need to update those. Everything else I've taken a try at. Will update you @lilac thistle
Still nothing btw
Well, got my desktop back after a hideously long round with Geek Squad, managed to resolve the server finding issue as well
Dunno if it's related to the networking thing, but folks having the game crash from memory or UE4 crashes might be able to resolve it by going into Services and disabling SysMain
i was thinking how i make it so i hear ingame audio while tabbed out.
Anyone mind telling me how to enable it.
If you can tell me how can you ping me?
Unfortunately i think that's more a Windows/UE4 thing as opposed to the Isle settings
To allow background sounds while alt-tabbed:
Engine.ini file
Add this at the bottom
[Audio]
UnFocusedVolumeMultiplier=1.0
@static moat
Might sound dumb but where do i find Engine.ini
Never seen it in the files while tried to change it myself?
Type, %localappdata% in your taskbar search box and press enter , scroll down to the isle ,look in there
Ill be on my computer in a few min, ill screenshot the exaact location then and send itto you
okk
ok opened it
did it
you're welcome
Hello so I was playing on bio isle and then I killed a baryonex then the game kicked me saying kfc or something and I didn’t do anything wrong and now when I try to play it says no severs found
Hi so I asked this question before but now it’s been month and there’s still no change or solution for the problem :/
- Basically my friend cannot find any Isle servers.
- She’s reset her computer, uninstalled steam, uninstalled the Isle, gotten new WiFi, redone all the firewall and anti cheat settings, she’s put her steam settings many different ways & still no servers are found 🙂
- It is only this game so we don’t think it’s a WiFi thing
- It’s been going on for many months :/
- Done everything we’ve been told to do
Any help is appreciated please we’ve done everything we can think of ❤️
I don't know if it will work, but I had my computer in with Geek Squad, and now it's back it is working fine, is to go into the settings for Services, you're looking for the SysMain service, and disable it from running at all
^^ been there done that :/
@worthy mountain i assume you tried a vpn?
Yes
I keep getting the host closed the connection even tho i Have tried all of the 'fixing things'
dont know what to do anymore any help`?
and yes it happens for all servers
EDIT: made it to server but could only play for10mins until it kicked me again...
I have a genuine concern, and I have no idea what to do about it. I've been running The Isle like perfect for years. On the same PC. One day, after some updates to Steam and Windows it just stopped working like it did. I can barely play the damn game, I've turned all my settings to their lowest capability. Nothing. I get in, and it skips, freezes, and just all together lags like there isn't any tomorrow on servers where I could play fine on, at the highest pop. possible. It's extremely frustrating because I can't hunt, defend myself, or just drink water properly. Any help would be great, because to my own knowledge, I have tried everything.

@scenic spade
@pale pike I DMd Hikari and she helped me out. Thank you tho!

The Teutonic Server told me that i should report this bug (dont know how to call it else) on the offical discord.. they are out of ideas.
The connection options for Teutonic 1 are really buggy. Im playing the isle every day and i need every single time more then 1h to connect me to Teutonic 1. i can play on teutonic like every 3.4th day.
Im the only player that have this issue on Teutonic, noone know how to help me because nothing works.
Searching via Steam Servers, searching ingame : 0 difference
changing ping frame, puting out every settings and option in the server search bars, ingame and on steam, uninstall / reinstall the game, reboosting my router.
and more, nothing works. teutonic has 0 clue why this happens to me. i love teutonic but the motivation for playing the isle sinks rapidly with that issue.
can the official discord of the isle help me like the teutonic server told me...?
Did you try flushing your dns through the command prompt? Addind the game in your anti virus / firewall exclusion list ?
Deleting your saved folder ?
Jup, nothing changed 🤷🏻♀️
The problem is, the game works really well, i can connect to every single server without am issue, only teutonic 1 (right that server that i prefer the most) wont work ^^‘
Hey I need some help a friend has just downloaded the game but they only see 10 servers but mine has a heck of a lot more. Is there something that they are missing?
@worthy mountain Hi there I saw your help wanted for the Isle about your friend that has no servers popping up. Did you ever find a solution? I have a friend in the same jam.
whenever i join a server, i get kicked after a short period of time, saying that the host closed the connection, and that i was kicked. is this something on my end or have i been banned or something?
@mild garnet i dont know if pinging you is correct, but you're at the top of the list and i dont know who else to ask for, because this is a game issue
That is a connection issue. Try this:
Open an Administrator level command prompt
- Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
- Right click Command Prompt
- Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
- Type ipconfig /flushdns
- Hit enter
- Type netsh winsock reset
- Hit enter
- Reboot your computer
- Open up The Isle
Thank you, im restarting now
anyone have an idea on how to stop this when ever i alt tab out? it never used to do this before and now it pisses me off lot
So, I'm having this issue where I can't hear dinosaurs at certain angles from me. For example a trex walking right behind me, I wouldn't hear its stomping until it passes me, or or turn around to look at it.
Fatal error:[file unknown] [line 200]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device begin lost. (Error: 0x887A0006-"HUNG")
What to do?Help!

@small musk sounds like you need to reinstall graphics drivers
@viscid thicket How and where should I do it?
Me said that I not will be able play in game so as for game need least 3GHZ AND I have 2.40.So I bought the game for nothing(((
what kind of graphics card do u have ?
@fading mauve
thank you

If it doesn't work. Give me a tag and I'll search for some more options t help you
No servers found, I can access servers directly from steam but I can't get them through TI
Ive tried clearing my dns cache, restarting things, allowing access through firewall, and changing max ping/ minute
@sinful kiln
If servers are not showing up:
- Click Steam in the top left of your Steam library.
- Go to Settings > In-Game > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000. Note: You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
IF that doesn't work, follow this:
Open an Administrator level command prompt
- Type in
CMDon your windows search through your computer. - Right click
Command Prompt - Click
Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box - Type
ipconfig /flushdns - Hit enter
- Type

If these options don't work, it might be a internet problem
I'm trying to figure out why my Isle game keeps having fps issues. I have it set to run as admin, forcing my nvidia processor (GTX 1060 6GB VRAM), and 16GB regular ram. All my specs and sites for saying if you can run games or not say I should be able to easily run this game.
Yet I struggle to keep a decent FPS, with terrible spikes/freezes a decent amount of the time. Don't have this issue with other games, even ones more graphical intensive. I've tried just about everything but have no clue how to remedy the issue.
Hi! I hope I am in the right channel, I have installed The Isle and updated my driver, but upon opening the game, it crashes and says I am missing the nvwgf2umx.dll, I have downloaded it but I am not sure where to place it, as it is not working on the steam folder
the error, sorry it's in portuguese
Im updating my driver again since the problem has urned to photoshop to

Post your system specifications following the method shown in the link @vagrant kelp
@raven badger same for you
It's sadly not a problem of the game but of the driver itself, nothing reading the dll, but here if it helps
(I am aware that the driver isnt supported, but updating it was the cause of the problem)
My system specs.
I am having high ping on official-us-2
Where is this server located?
Is there a better server for an Ohio player?
@humble gale Restarting steam or my PC normally helps this conflict for me, I hope it does for you.
Hey somehow I'm not able to see any servers, my drivers are updated and ive restarted everything. Any known fixes?
@pine crane

@zealous vapor Thanks for replying, I just tried both of those and still nothing.
thank you
ive been searching for hours on what it could be but i havent found anything that has fixed it
Hello everyone. I've been testing the pue in test server for a while and can't manage to make it eat or drink. Any pue players with some helpful suggestions? And please not just "don't play pue" ><
I believe you have to get into the water to drink, I think someone said you can’t drink unless the water is to about your shoulders- To eat, it’s much easier at smaller stages of growth, but usually I go up to large bushes and try moving the camera so I look down, and move it around until the “E to Eat” pops up
yeah, it's tricky. I hoped there would be something better
on another note, a friend and I are playing Progression Mode... our Oros both have 60+ points but the option to move to Dryo is nowhere on the Progression screen. Are we missing something?
Prog was removed
hello i cannot get my game to work. i tried to send a email but it was rejected. can someone help me please
@fervent cargo what do you mean it won't work? Can you explain what's not working? Launching not working, loading into a server, host connection lost etc
@zealous vapor sorry that was a fair point. so i can launch the gmae and select a server but after that all i get is a black screen with the music playing in the background. i have waited up to 1 minute and no change. i have verified the game files, un installed and re installed, restatred my computer and there has been no change.
here is the computer specs and this thread asks for
If it's a black screen, your computer may not be able to run the isle, and/or your driver's arent up to date, I don't know much about this stuff but @pale pike does, wait for them to get back to you-
@zealous vapor alright ill check my drivers. thank you for your help so far
👍🏽
id be supprised if i couldnt run the isle though
Your computer is well above the requirements don't worry about that, try deleting your saved folder found in your local appdata @fervent cargo
Does anyone else’s computer have to install the isle every time you go to open it
This happens EVERY TIME
@pale pike where can i find that file?
Type %localappdata% in your taskbar search box and press enter. This should open a folder called "Local" and just scroll down to The Isle ,open it and delete what's inside @fervent cargo
Small warning, this will also delete any skin preset you have
@pale pike ya that didnt work
then perhaps the game is trying to use the integrated video chip of your CPU instead of your 2070 , did you try giving priority to your 2070?
um idk what that means
@pale pike what does that mean and how can i fix that?
when i launch skyrim it says its using my 2070
also when i check the settings for the isle is says its maxed out in the game and in the nvidea control panel
right click on your desktop and select ''Nvidia Control Panel''
On the menu on the left
Under the ''3D Settings'' , you are going to click on ''Manage 3D Settings''
you should see a few options there , by scrolling down you should see something alone the line off '' Graphic Processor Render OpenGL'' , change that from auto select to your Nvidia card
doesn't matter that skyrim use the right one , the isle may still use the wrong one

@pale pike so im still getting the black screen i can select a random thing in the black where the quit key is located and it will quit. wtf
@pale pike im so lost lol
same to be honest
is vsync turned on ? off? is your ray tracing activated? (not sure of its compatibility with the isle)
any windows update?
nope checked
I really don't know what else we could look
hey so i can host a individual game and that launched......
it seems i just cant join servers already made. i have gone down the list and im not able to understand why i can host my own game now but not able to join a server
@pale pike maybe a file error or a im missing a map?
would have been fixed when you reinstalled the game / verified the integrity
well shit
im guessing that i can host my own game isnt necessary a good thing then?
well if you like playing alone it's a good thing , at least you can entertain yourself to a degree but you have no multiplayer option so it's kinda meh
ill try a clean steam install and reset my graphics card
How long does it take to load in, because I get a black screen for abit before I load in too
Hi, so one of my friends just bought The Isle and can't load the actual game (even when its downloaded) and keeps saying that steam is downloading "Microsoft Direct X." I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this problem. When he plays other games, it works fine.
is there a spot to report an issue with a map? because I got stuck in a spot and can't get out
i need help can someone tell me which graphics setting affects the rivers because this river is all chopped up and broken and hardly loads in, i'm at lowest for all settings except affects foliage and textures are medium and view distance is high
Ok so I just got the game like yesterday and I’ve had this bug since then. When I first played it was all good and then I got “connection lost the connection to the server has been lost.” I’ve checked my WiFi and I have done everything that I could’ve.I have no idea if its just my laptop that cant run it but im pretty sure it can. I checked on google and it seemed like people were having a problem with this some time ago. I have no idea what else to do.
Ok so now it won’t even let me on the map. I click the server load and then it shows the map but nothing else then does the connection lost thing.
Ive done everything I could and everything that i could find on the internet. I really want to play this game but i just cant because of this problem that shouldve been simple to fix but it just wasnt. Please i really need help with this.
hey guys at start i keep getting Fata error small window + transparent isle window. i hear the sound of the game starting but that is all. what could it be?
@vivid junco #401465476661641217
@tribal owl
What you’ve described sounds like a connection issue, it's usually an easy fix, Try this:
Open an Administrator level command prompt
1.Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
2.Right click Command Prompt
3.Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
4.Type ipconfig /flushdns
5.Hit enter
6.Type netsh winsock reset
7.Hit enter
8.Reboot your computer
9.Open up The Isle

Post your system specifications following the method shown in the link. I don't know much about system specs so wait for paco to get back to you on this-
Alright... So as of late I've been having a few problems that apparently are linked to my Drivers. Whenever I'm to start up some of my games (The Isle), they give me an error somewhat like this:
Fatal Error: [File:Unknown] [Line:251]
Then there's a directory. I've been told it's my drivers and all my drivers are 100% up to date, and I've even tried the "deleting the Saved Folder" of The Isle thing. Nothing seems to be working.
Here is my system specs
@dawn belfry
Paste your specs here and wait for someone of more knowledge of system specs to respond
my system specs:
Having problems hearing anything in the isle i can hear my youtube, discord, and other steam games just fine but the isle doesnt have any sound to it
anyone have a possible solution?
Good afternoon, I am having issues with audio. I can hear the opening music but when i get into a server there is no sound at all
hey does anyone else have an issue with servers taking like 3-5 minutes to load?
I don't encounter this issue on anyone elses machine in my home, just mine
How do i get into offical zervers i click offical but says nothing to be found
@proven elbow
No server found solution:
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to adjust and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
@stark dew, @unborn hatch
Try this:
Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete the "saved" folder and launch your game.
@slim iris
Depending on the systems, an ethernet connection makes a difference compared to wireless, though the loading speed is depeneded entirely on your internet. Some helpful solution could be:
-Closing any background programs
-Run Defrag
im having an issue in game my headset picked up which direction were ai/players come from if they made a sound but now since i updated my windows 10 to a newer version my game sound went to normal sound so i cant tell where ai is coming from its just all one sound
help
@honest river Delete the saved folder in your local files, follow the directions above. Let me know if it worked or not.
this file right?
i open theisle folder but i don't see the saved folder is it named something else @echo elk
my sniff won't work, i would hold the button but nothing happens and i don't know how to fix it
try go to setting ingame and click reset setting
@honest river So the Audio icon on the bottom right of your screen, right click it and go to sound, that should open up the sound control panel. You should be automatically taken to the Playback tab, there find your headset, click it and select configure.
i don't get that it ask if i want to open, open sound, open volume mixer,spatial sound (off) and trouble shoot sound
@zenith pivot double check your keybinds, if nothing then do the same I said earlier, delete the saved folder in your local files.
Which keybind is it, sensefocusmode?
@echo elk i got it opened and my headset has already been configured
should be scent or something Coffee
@honest river Okay now in your windows setting, make sure your output is set to your headset
So hit the Windows on the bottom left, Settings>Sound>Choose your output
@echo elk it is to my headset
Okay, try going back ingame
i never really changed anything becasue it was all set to it
updating windows could've changed stuff around
sometimes it reverts back to standard settings
What kind of headset do you have
logitech
my scent problem didn't changed when i deleted the saved folder, all it did was remove the health,water and stam hud
@echo elk
@honest river Try turning Spatial Sound on, select Windows Sonic for Headphones.
@zenith pivot What Dinosaur are you
its greyed out for me theres no on button for it
Your Headset has a wired connection right? Is it a blue Logitech?
i tested it with the Utah, but the problem was the same for every dino i played
my headset isG332 wired connection
my beats headphones never had this problem when i used them and they weren't a actual headset
Did this issue just recently occur after updating?
Have you checked the Device Manager in your Control Panel and see if any of your input/output drivers need to be updated?
@honest river Not sure if it's Unreal Engine related or something internal with your PC or perhaps Headset. Did find this from dinosauriac ages ago, seems there's been problems with UE's surround sound. Coincidence if this is your case but given it just happened after updating it's more than likely fixable.
you prob don't know how to fix it?
At this point sadly no, usually the first couple solutions help but this is something I haven't dealt with.
would any devs know how to fix it?
i wonder if im allowed to tag punch idk he helped me before long time ago
Doubt they'd know but who knows. Seems your headset is the main issue here since it previously worked but suddlenly stopped after updating windows which is weird.
it shouldnt be the headset it must be somthing stupid
Does any of this do anything
i click it and its greyed out
@honest river Do you still have it set on Mono?
yes
Have you tried switching to Stereo?
i have and my stereo don't work for it either
@zenith pivot Here's another solution that may work.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
hello, sorry to bother, im not sure if this is a dumb repetitive question or not, and im pretty sure its not actually the game fault, but my F1 button is also the help button for widows on my computer, i was able to download something and disable the help pop ups that kept keeping me from accepting invites, but it now also wont function at all, it turns almost everything off, chat, calls, etc... do you have any adive on if its something i can fix?
i need help bitches
its my favorite game
please
i was trying to get killed by another player, so i could respawn closer to my friend
thanks
What is the problem?
Hello, I need some help here.
@scarlet chasm I’m assuming this is a common problem?
Also thanks for the link.
Not common per se, but not an unknown issue 🙂
@toxic bobcat try this:
Thank you so much! I'll give that a try! ❤️
@scarlet chasm
I would start by updating your amd graphics driver as it’s a couple months old now @fierce herald
@scarlet chasm Okay, I'll do that right now, and then restart the game to see if I get the same message again. thanks for the help. 🙂
@hallow gull were you able to solve the problem? If not, try the following if you haven’t yet:
Open an Administrator level command prompt
1.Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
2.Right click Command Prompt
3.Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
4.Type ipconfig /flushdns
5.Hit enter
6.Type netsh winsock reset
7.Hit enter
8.Reboot your computer
9.Open up The Isle
@honest river are you using a laptop?
@scarlet chasm I just updated my graphics card now. Just launch the game so far so good no messages yet. Again thank for the help.🙂
Glad to hear! Keep me posted. 🙂
It didn't work :c
Yeah, mine is the nesting issue LOL
im on a diff server this time, but the nesting thing still doesn't work.
Ill give it a try once I get home. @scarlet chasm thank you!
@toxic bobcat are you a diff Dino?
Yeah this time, I tried a carno.
Carno is bugged. You have to safe log, when you log in before moving or anything else you make a nest, else you have to repeat :/
Alright i'll give that a try, thank you!
This time it finally gave me the "You cannot build a nest in this location" so we're making progress! Thank you so much!
It worked, thank you so much!
Hello! I'm having trouble with loading servers. When the list comes up I'll get a max of 10 or so servers, usually with 0 players, when I have the max set to 1000. I've tried everything on the troubleshooting forums as well as the pinned messages in this channel, (lowering pings/minute, unchecking the filters and making sure all search boxes are empty, even uninstalling and reinstalling the game) and the admin command prompt method seemed to work at first, but it's still not letting me find a specific server so I can play with a group of friends. After rebooting the game a few times, it seems to have gone back to showing me 10 or so servers at a time.
I'm at a loss because the game used to work perfectly on this computer up until recently. Pls help ;;
@oblique frigate can you find them via the steam server browser?
See- I had to google what that was lol. It's showing up tons of servers but the one I want to connect to says it's not responding, though I've got friends playing there right now. I try to click connect/join game but it only takes me to the main menu in the game.
I'm trying other servers on the steam server browser and it's giving the the same result
Did anything else chance such as new router or anything like that?
when i join EU 2 i can play about 5 minutes and then it says host has kicked you
??
@floral linden
Open an Administrator level command prompt
1.Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
2.Right click Command Prompt
3.Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
4.Type ipconfig /flushdns
5.Hit enter
6.Type netsh winsock reset
7.Hit enter
8.Reboot your computer
9.Open up The Isle
Anyone know how I can go about getting more servers to show up? Sometimes I have to sit there refreshing a hundred times before any of the servers I like to play on show up
We did get a new router but that was some time ago. I'm not sure if I've actually played between then and now. Is there anything I could do to see if the router's the problem?
It’s possible the router is blocking the ports. That gets a bit advanced for this channel though.
Yikes, okay. Any other ideas as to what might be causing the problem I could try?
You could try also turning off any antivirus or firewall on your pc to see if one of those is blocking it too.
Yes Zolh I am using a laptop, is that what the problem was?
@proud meteor try this:
- Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
- Right click Command Prompt
- Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
- Type ipconfig /flushdns

@fossil birch your graphics card is way way below minimum specs.
You would need a GPU to play.
okay ill look into that
Good luck
@zealous vapor nothing worked
Here try this
Go to your steam folder - common - The Isle - The Isle - binaries - win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping.exe
If that doesn't work, your last step is to open the steam client itself, go to the. Top left, and click on "view" then click on servers and filter for the isle
If none of these work, it may be a problem with your internet
Alright, thanks!
No problem! Hope you figure it out
No problem! Glad it worked
@zealous vapor So I cant find any servers, and I've tried your trouble shooting tips, but when I go to the server list, games show up and i cant join them. it gives an error that says this:
You've tried all the ones I've listed? @pine crane
I'll repost all the ones I usually suggest just incase there's one u didn't try
If servers are not showing up:
- Click Steam in the top left of your Steam library.

@zealous vapor Yeah, I’ve done those already. It’s ok if you don’t know I was just checking here if someone might have it
I'll keep looking into it to see if I find something else- try refreshing your wifi, and do a wifi speed test to see if it's your wifi causing i
@pine crane have you tried turning off your fire walls? Etc to see if it's blocking it?
yeah I have and Im going to restore them and try again, I think it might be my port forwarding being the problem, if it wokrs I'll let you know
Sounds good, I'll post some more options for you
@pine crane
Other Suggestions That May Help

**5.**Uninstall Your Antivirus
6. Delete The file located at : c:/windows/systems32/driver's/etc/host

@floral linden try this
i have tried it and it didnt work
Lemme look for some more options for you
@floral linden has the game been added to your firewall exclusive list?
Because it may be messing with your connection
i can look
but it all started when i was playing with a friend, we spawned a long way from each other so i wanted to die i met a rex and wrote pls kill me but he didnt he lay beside me and then i attacked him so he would kill me and he did and i was not a rex
Alrighty, tell me if it is on the list-
it is not on the exclusive list
@floral linden What firewall/anti-virus program do you use?
Avast
I used to use Avast myself and it gave me the same error until I added The Isle's folder to it's exclusion list.
Do you know how to add file/folder exclusions?
no
but i dont think its that because i have been playing the isle for a long time without that problem and with Avast
These types of problems can arise randomly due to daily definition updates that can trigger false positives.
okay
Here you go:https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/Antivirus-scan-exclusions Follow that guide and add The Isle's folder to an exclusion.
ok thanks
thanks for the help i think it worked
Glad to hear it worked
If your isle folder is still in the exclusive try this @floral linden
we'll have to change your Steam server connection to the second nearest server and see if it improves
1. Go into steam
2. In the upper left corner Steam-Settings-Downloads
3. In that downloads tab you will have to change the "download region" into the option below your current selected server
By default steam has it set to the nearest server, the other options below or above are the second nearest, shouldn't have that much impact on your game
i will try it
@zealous vapor I'm updating you about what happened yesterday, apparently the fix was to reset my firewalls twice and disable them again, dont know how that didnt work the other times lol
👍🏽👍🏽
how long can you be kicked from servers
???
??
?
pls heplp
got kicked from an server
and didnt do anything
pls help
First of all, were you kicked or banned and was it the official servers?
That's a network issue
Open an Administrator level command prompt

- Right click Command Prompt
- Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
- Type ipconfig /flushdns
- Hit enter
- Type netsh winsock reset
- Hit enter
- Reboot your computer
- Open up The Isle
Try this
Do you have a firewall active
yeas
You will need to set an exception for the isle then
Or turn it off, your choice
Most likely it's not allowing you access
Do you have Windows firewall still active?
yeas
@mild garnet me and askerkri tried everything last night- nothing seemed to work
Have you tried disabling windows firewall completely?
no
i cant even see us/east coast servers only eu/russia servers
@void shale try this

For a friend: Launched game and it said Fatal Error. Help?

alright
Hey guys im back, still havent been able to get the game to work. any new advice?
@fervent cargo what was your problem again 😂 I've been helping lots of people lately so I don't remember
Hello everyone guys I have a problem there are no servers in The Isle
@gritty latch
Open Steam, at the top left, click "Steam". Select Settings and navigate to In-Game. On the bottom menu adjust the "In-Game server browser: Max pings/minute" to whichever works best for you. Mine is set to 3000 if it helps.
@gritty latch Try adjusting it a few times, be sure the game's closed. Some players reported 500 also works for them.
@echo elk here
@gritty latch Alright. Try this out.
Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
Right click Command Prompt
Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns
Hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset
Hit enter
Reboot your computer
Open up The Isle
ок
@echo elk No
@gritty latch What AntiVirus/Firewall program do you have?
Add The Isle as an exclusion to your program, follow this guide.
https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1058
Your Malwarebytes software may block an item you trust, such as an application, registry key, IP address, or file. If you do not want Malwarebytes to
ок
@echo elk to be honest I can't
@gritty latch If not you can always see if you can join a server through steam rather than in-game. Open up Steam, at the top left click View, scroll down to Servers, when the box opens up locate Game at the bottom filter and find The Isle and select it.
@zealous vapor i can lanch my game, host a game and play but i cant join a server. When i do it gives my a black screen with the music still playing but nothin happens. I can click where the quit button exists and it then takes me back to the home screen. But i have no ability to join servers and play on them.
hello.
I got a real problem with my game and I cant play alone.
There are some commands missing, I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game but nothing changed.
I don't have any idea how to fix this, and because of this I can't just play alone sometimes. And that's terribly handicapping my game sometimes.
Here is a screenshot, thats the "Scent" Command that is missing.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/348232353262338049/656960340512473148/unknown.png
so my friend cant find any servers, what can they do to fix that?
The LifeBreaksFree servee is gone, I would like to know how to get it back on the server or fix it thank you
@tawny rampart try this:
Alternatively you can also try the following:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
@swift cliff have they tried lowering their ping settings in steam?
Otherwise have them try:
Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
Right click Command Prompt
Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns
Hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset
Hit enter
Reboot your computer
Open up The Isle
I dont think they have ill have them do that thank you
"Your computer doesn´t meet the minimum system requirement" message shows up whenever I open up the isle even thought I exceed the requirements. I also can't find any servers showing up except for random foreign ones.
¨To fix my problem with the Host closed the connection i had to hard reset my pc :d
@honest river Please post your specs here
https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
The game might be using your integrated video chip if you're getting that red message. Your server list issue is not related to that. @honest river
Give priority to your 1060 in the Nvidia Control Panel
See if the red text persist
and follow these solutions for your issue about finding servers

I've tried the server thing but neither worked for me
@tulip mural how long does this screen stays black for; because my screen stays black for a fair amount of time before I load in, but that's just because I don't have good wifi, so for me loading into things like death match and hosting my own server load faster
@honest river #401465476661641217 is for bugs found within the server, this is the more appropriate channel. When you try to place a nest after, does it say unable to place nest in this location etc?
@honest river
Follow these steps
1. Open file explorer from the taskbar
2. Select view - Options - Change folder and search options
3. Select view tab, and in advanced settings, select show hidden files, folders and driver's and OK
4. Afterwards at the bottom of your task bar, there should be a white search bar, type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
5. At the top, you'll see the file path, click "AppData" to go back to the actual AppData folder, them to local - The Isle - Delete the "saved" folder
👍🏽
It won't let me favorite a server under View>Servers in fact The Isle isn't an option at all when I search for a server in order to auto join.
@zealous vapor ok so now i can get into some games but mu ability to play on servers is random
@zealous vapor this is Dameon95 i just changed my name
Ah- so your able to play on servers, by the chance to get in is random?
@balmy anchor have you tried lowering your ping settings on steam?
so im having issue getting my scent to work. i had people in game tell me it should be under settings -> controls -> Dinosaurs -> and should be the last option. All i had was nest and the 4 calls. im reinstalling now.
Delete your Saved folder @ancient stag
Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
@pale pike IM REINSTALLING RIGHT NOW. IF IT WORKS THANK YOU SO MUCH!
sorry caps
if it doesnt ill mention you back in here
reinstalling alone won't fix your issue I believe you will still need to delete the saved folder as it doesn't get deleted when you uninstall the game
Hi! I keep getting this when i open the Isle. Can anyone help?
your GPU probably doesn't support DX-11 , follow this link to get your system specifications so that we can have a look

Heya I got a quick question. I use headphones and the music works fine but the in game effects like roars and geyser explosions only are present in my left ear?? It’s impossible for me to tell where a roar is coming from bc it’s always the left. I’ve tested this and no matter in what direction I am, even if the sound is coming from the right, I only hear it on my left 🙃 what can I do in this instance
Even in the menu, the beeps and everything sound good, but the roars and shooting sounds only work on my left
Are your headphones using surround sound? If you set them to stereo it should work.
They do have surround sound I believe but it’s not active 🤔
The sound “fixes” itself when I die for a few seconds
Then fades to the left again
This may be happening because I have my headphones plugged into my PS4 controller that I’m using to play the game atm
Try connecting them directly
Worked! Thanks @scarlet chasm
hey, anyone knows how can someone use alt turn with a controller?
@pale pike it worked
My server list hasa been like this for the past 4 - 6 months. I can't access any servers and i've done all the suggested methods: DNS flushing, Ping changing 5000 to 250, Port opening, opening by another file and i still can't acess any servers. I can only acess them by joining via STEAM's friend list, and sometimes even that doesn't work. I need help.
@spare orbit
1. Go to your Steam Folder
2. Go to Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
If that doesn't work, the last step that may help you
1. open the steam client itself
2. go to the top left and click on "view"
3. then click on servers and filter for the isle
If none of these work, it's most likely a problem with your internet
If these don’t work try this

I'm not 100% sure if this is the right channel, but whenever I click to attack, my mouse cursor stops being hidden and flashes on the edges of the game screen when I turn the camera, and then it doesn't always register attacks whenever I'm turning it, but otherwise the cursor stays invisible. I play on fullscreen, if that helps.
@zealous vapor sorry to bother you
i was the guy from the other day that couldn't get in any server
soo
i did what you told me to
and
it still has the same issue
i still get kicked almost instantly
@steady patrol what did I suggest you do?
you told me to write some codes on the CMD and reboot the computer
Try thisb
If the ones ive suggested before didn't work- try this
The win64 shipping might fix it, but the second part you linked won't help it as it will only show servers and he has no issues finding servers
If he connects from the steam server browser; it'll still appear as the issue above
That was just added onto the copy and paste I have- didn't wanna edit it out
👍
Is it in your exclusive list for your anti virus?
i only have a firewall and i already allowed it in
this is a new computer, i still didn't download any anti virus
The last option I've got are these, but I'm not sure if they'll work
Other Suggestions That May Help
1. Update Your Drivers
2. Verify Integrity Of Game Files
Located within Steam clickdown of the isle
3. Set A FireWall Exclusive For The Isle
4. Check If Your Router Ports Are Open
5. Uninstall Your Antivirus
6. Delete The file located at : c:/windows/systems32/driver's/etc/host
7. Formatting your PC
8. Try playing with Ethernet Cable
9. Modem/router firewalls are blocking it, and/or other program installed is blocking it
10. ISP maybe blocking
Last option
11. Uninstall Steam and do a clean reinstall of everything
Sounds good, I'll look for some more answers if it doesn't work, and it's no bother
Absolutely not
i cant find any servers all of the are everything but na servers and ive trried everything
i cant find servers i type
ive lowered and raised the ping in steam ive delted the files and game and reinstalled it
Hey guys I hope to be on the right channel, I'm presenting a lot of problems with the graphics of the game. The edges of the saw are very present and make everything look blurry, it is really annoying to the eyes. I have all the graphic options in epic. Anyone know what can it be?
Yo, a friend of mine can't see the EU servers (official). we did everything that was on steam and here on the discord.
I think i'm going to ask for a refund
nothing works
I really REALLY wanted to play this game
but
can't even log into a server
@steady patrol keep in mind the game is being rewritten from scratch 😛
i know
i just don't know if it's paid or not
but
from what i saw about it
it's getting pretty neat
the update coming is not paid, if you own the game now, you get the rewritten version
@steady patrol you can always let me know what you have tried and I can try to help fix your issue 🙂
ok
and there's another thing that he told me to do, but most of them would mess up my computer so i try to avoid them
Have you verified the integrity of the game files? Or deleted the "Save" folder?
- Right-click The Isle in steam
- Click on Properties
- Click on Local FIles tab
- Click
VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES...
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
If after doing those, you still have the issue, you can try refreshing steam itself.
- Close Steam
- Go to steam installation directory (probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)
- Delete everything except the
steamappsfolder andsteam.exe(Probably shows asSteamwith Type of Application- Run Steam and it will reinstall itself without having lost your games.
NOTE: make sure you don't delete the steamapps folder.
do i still delete the .dll files or are they ok?
yeah everything else gets removed except steam.exe and that steamapps folder
alright
like this?
that "A STEAM" is like the same thing as the normal steam
i was retarded when i first downloaded it and friked up all of this
just leave Steam and the folder, rest can be removed
done
im going to reinstall it now
thanks for the help
i'll contact if the error continues
sooo
i would like to say it worked
but now my steam is bugged
it doesn't "load"
Hey did anyone ever find a fix for flickering shadows/foliage? So many videos and threads about it but no fixes 😦
@steady patrol so the game is working but now steam is glitched?
i don't really know
i can't open the game
lemme check something
yep
it's gliched
Did you restart your computer since encoutering the glitched steam ?
Heyo,
Have just bought the game.
Yesterday I installed and got into a server before going to sleep (all I did was create & customize a maya and tested some controls).
So all good up to that point.
Today when I planned to properly play however I click a server, official /not official /any, and it is fixed on 10%, then suddenly gets to 100%, 38%, 100% and BAM "Host closed connection" error message.
I have already checked this discussion:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/376210/discussions/17/1780513643843541491/
But the workaround with the audio doesn't fix this for me, plus I have nvidia not amd, just leaves me on a screen at the beach where no button does anything from what I can tell
Have installed the latest graphic card driver and even restarted my laptop
Is anyone able to explain what causes this or what can fix it?
@pale pike no, i didn't, i'll try that later
@languid mantle that's the same error that i have and i'm trying to fix as well
@steady patrol welp guess we can burn together :'| Imma scroll up keeping an eye to messages from you and replies you got to see if there's other things I can try to fix this
Ok hell, I completely wiped my game, reinstalled everything, verified the integrity of the isle, but still, it shows me the "Failed to open descriptor file" stuff. Any help?
@crude plover DM me your system specs.
@steady patrol @languid mantle Both of you as well please ^
sorry to be kinda dumb but
can you specify to me
what exactly
is a System spec?
Follow this: https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba And copy/paste all the information it provides you into my DM's
Will send the specs, but first just confirming the file integrity is gud and trying to enter a server through View > Servers > Filter The Isle > Connect still has the error message.
sorry, but could you please add me as friend?
i can't send messages to ppl who aren't my friends
i know too much retarded ppl that go to my DM to bother me
so i leave it like that
Done
i think i'm just going to reeinstal steam
i mean
it's bugged
i can't even play other games now
After updating your drivers?
You need to restart your computer after a driver update.
i mean
my internet is pretty slow
i'm sure steam would be done much quicker than the drivers
it's only 9% done
Your drivers are most likely the cause of the issue, which won't go away until you update them.
so
It's also important to keep your GPU drivers up to date.
you think that the "black steam" issue is caused by the drivers as well?
Black steam?
Potentially, as it replaces your display drivers, which naturally displays things.
still black screened
i need to reeinstal steam
ah
forget about it
i managed a way
thank you to everyone who tried to help me
i could enter a server and play
if anything happens again, i'll report

@analog mica this is the channel for proper troubleshooting 🙂
can someoneexplain why this happens after trying and failing to join a full server 5 times?
its every single time, and after it failed to find server I have to forceclose it down multiple times in my taskmanager to get the game running again
- Type
netsh winsock reset - Hit enter
- Reboot your computer
- Open up
The Isle
@tawdry estuary
I tried that before it didnt help, its only after trying to join a full server 5 times, the whole launcher is broken after that and I cant even open up a browser anymore till I forceclose steam, my internet isnt the issue as its constant quick speed cable.
If the ones ive suggested before didn't work- try this
If none of these work, it's most likely a problem with your internet
saying again, its not my internet, even pointed it out above thats its literaly not the internet <.< I tried to join through the steam isle filter but this makes me wait around 2 hours and longer before I simply give up and join by clicking on the server itselfe. The bug ONLY appears when repeatedly trying to join a full server 5 times.
Lats time I asked for an solution to this issue it was brought forward that this was a known bug
I can still browse youtube and sit on discord with Vc and all of that when the game does that bug. I simply cant open a fresh tab that loads in. Its not my internet, as I tested the connection multiple times
I cant find any official or filled servers. I have been trying to play for a few days but this is all I find
this is more than normal too. Normally only 2-3 empty servers show up
i just read the above stuff and found they dont work for me. Mine happens first time i start up, not when i try to join server.
It means your GPU doesn't support DX11
that would be an integrated video chip and not a standalone GPU
integrated isn't near powerful enough
so the game would not work? or do i have to figure how to install the uncooked version?
The game probably won't work, but you should make sure you have the latest intel graphics drivers installed either way.
You'd be able to upgrade a pc better yeah.
Follow this: https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba And copy/paste all the information here
just copy the text from that window and paste in here
it wont let me

cant find any servers
and ive done every form change the ping to cmd and files deltes changes
nothing has worked
ive even completely erased the isle off my computer and the same stuff keeps happening i canr find named servers and their all EU GER and im NA cant find named servers either
i cant find a single official server, ive been refreshing for 20+ minutes
no amount of "firewall" troubleshooting is working, cant connect though steams serve search. Ive played this a hell of a lot and took a break for a year and ive never had this problem and this is still the exact same pc and firewall from when i first started playing.
hi, i want to ask that is dryo got removed from survival or is this just a bug?
@chrome mantle what server are you on? Some community servers have disabled the dryo, but officials have not
i was on isla nublar server
thanks for helping, but why some server disabled the dryo?
There is a bug under certain conditions causing a server to crash.
thank you, i'm playing dryo on official server now
Still can't find servers. Firewalls are clear. Flushed my DNS. I've tried every max ping. PLS someone help me
This is becoming absurd
this is what i get when trying to do the direct server connect through steam
Can anyone help me figure out how to fix the -Kicked from game, Host closed connection- Glitch?
@west arch Could you DM me your system specifications?
any ideas on why all my servers are all asian servers? and i live in the US... ive already tried typing in an official server and it didnt pop up..
im also not using a vpn
solutions?
Symptom:

Doing "Host" allows me to enter the game.
Troubleshooting performed:
AMD audio workaround - though I have Nvidia;
Restart laptop;
Confirm File integrity is alright;
Have all graphic settings on Low;
Steam > View > Servers > The Isle Filter > Connect;
GPU Driver updated;
Turn off laptop then turn it on;
Managing 3D settings for OpenGL to be GeForce 920M instead of Auto;
CMD > netsh winsock reset;
Confirmed The Isle has firewall access;
Added Avast exception for E:\Games\Steam and for E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle\TheIsle.exe;
Uninstalled and Installed;
My other games still run as expected, be it Singleplayers or the only other game I have which also works through multiplayer servers
Looks like a laptop that doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game @languid mantle
@sharp badge if you select the secured and official checkboxes do you see any servers or just EU ones?
Is there a way to get an api with the current player count?
@pale pike But then how come I can enter in through Host? When Punchpacket was assisting me the other day he said this after looking at my specs:
"Whilst your GPU isn't great it should be able to run the game without too much of an issue, your issue is that your GPU drivers are so heavily outdated that Steam is opting to use your integrated graphics instead of the actual graphics card."
So I did the update and the OpenGL thing.
Before buying the game I also checked with the Can You Run It website, the only point which had a red was the video card but on specific features of it they were all green.
Furthermore I have been able to join a server but only in the very first try after installing for the first time. Though don't know if I would have been kicked after half a second like other people with the same issue since I only used scent and walked before quitting to go sleep.
Image is from when I sent the specs before updating.
Singleplayer is less demanding for your laptop then
Did you update the drivers and still gets the issue? @languid mantle
As you can see my resolution bar is empty and I cannot edit it while clicking on it or using tab or any other key. I Already reïnstalled the game, does anyone have suggestions?
Change the port your using for your monitor @hybrid estuary
You have any idea where I can do this @pale pike ?
At intel HD graphics?
I just have 1 monitor as I am playing on a laptop rn
Hello I have had a game again this morning a lot giving me this message:
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being host
Ahh my bad i had only seen this issue on desktop with a faulty port
@ Thedarklord
Ok, so at least for 10m all good at last.
Concerning what fixed it, I was indeed advised to update my graphics drivers, which I did but didn't resolve it. However what I did today when I got home was go to Asus' website to install other drivers by searching my computer model but ultimately just installed Driver Booster 7 Free to update aaaaaall the other shite.
So far so good, though I didn't stay in the EU-2 server for long since now I gotta leave the house. If anything changes when I play for a longer period I'll return to post an update.
i keep clicking refresh and it wont show up anymore. i was waiting for it to be 99/100 so i could join but now it doesnt show up at all
Restarting Game: Doesn't work
Restarting Steam: Doesn't work
Broadening my Search: Doesn't work
Temporary Solution: Set Max Results to 5000
Nevermind: After refreshing 15 times it came up no results again repeatedly
Possible Solution: Restarted Computer.
tried to join a full server (The Isle Official US 1) 3 times, still see servers!
Tried a regular refresh and both US servers disappeared from the list. just "Server" "The Isle Official EU 1" "The Isle Official EU 3"
Refreshed again: No Servers Found.
My screen after the final event:
@snow grail try this:

Currently attempting to resolve the issue where no servers appear. already tried both of these
Already tried uninstalling reinstalling, Changing max pings from 1500 to 1000 or 500, and flushing dns cache then netsh winsock reset and rebooting.
Anyone run into an issue where they get loaded into a server they did not select? For example, trying to get into US Official server, but when I select it and it loads, it sends me to a different server entirely.
Have you tried seeing the servers in the Steam Server List?
Idk what this issue is either I’ve tried everything even resetting my router only get Europe servers or other foreign servers
I'm having the same issue where no servers will show up for me in game and I've tried everything. When I tried use steam to find servers, they keep sending me to the wrong servers that I'm looking for and it becomes impossible to get on it.
Hey guys, im trying to gift my friend the isle but it keeps failing. I bought a cheap game to test steam for me and my friend and it worked. Can you no longer buy it?
And yes I have the amount required in my steam wallet
Has there been any fix, or solution, to the skin customization freezing?
@scarlet chasm Yes i have already tried seeing the servers in the steam server list, very few or none show up.
Also, if they do happen to show up then i am unable to join them
You may try reinstalling steam if you haven't yet. Make a copy of the steamapps folder first somewhere safe. Once installed again, copy that back over the original.
alright ill try that
if this doesnt work i will try that but, i managed to have a decent number of servers appear through steam, just unable to join them. Solution?
JESUS
I CAN'T PLAY
I ALREADY DID EVERYTHING I COULD
IT STILL KICKS ME OUT OF THE SERVER
AND THIS TIME
I ENTERED A SERVER
AUTOMATICALLY LEFT
AND THEN
IT ALREADY STOPPED WORKING
Im not sure where to ask this but when i open the isle i get the not found any COOKED error or global shaders thingy and i dont know how to fix it
Youtube doesnt help either
@hybrid lion and @steady patrol reinstalling steam seems to correct getting kicked from the server continuously when the other methods have failed to change behavior.
@edgy glacier do the following and post the results here, you might have to do 2 messages since it is long: https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
i already tryied to fix this 4 times
save a copy of the steamapps folder inside where steam is installed to your desktop
that will save your games
then just drag it back afterwards.
ok
@scarlet chasm can i just DM it to you sense i dont trust randoms with it and stuff
yeah that's fine
Have to restart my computer because i was talking on mobile and discord wouldnt open
@scarlet chasm i sent it
@scarlet chasm works!
the game is crash with fatal error
"To allow background sounds while alt-tabbed:
Engine.ini file
Add this at the bottom
[Audio]
UnFocusedVolumeMultiplier=1.0"
could somebody send a screen shot of what theirs looks like i have tried this is many different ways and it is not working
if it still works that is it has been a long time
just ping me whenever someone gets me it thanks whoever does 🙂
@frank torrent just out of curiosity , where did you find the engine.ini file?
i searched it up in the windows searchy thing
would you mind showing me? it may be that it's been put in the wrong one as some have done in the past
@steady patrol what I did Friday was install Driver Booster 7 Free and update all the drivers that thing detected, since it was def not my graphics driver since that specific one was updated.
After doing this I finally managed to enter a server... after having accumulated 50m of "gametime" (aka when I opened the game, failed, tried another fix, entered, failed, repeat)
Finally I managed to play for some 15minutes. I had to leave to do shit irl but today I hope that it will still work when I sit down to play properly.
The thing is
I already have updated my driver
And the same thing happened to me
I could play
But then I left
And when I wanted to play again
It bugs
shit yeah I can't go in again
guess on friday when i succeeded it was just a fluke
😦
Hi there, I bought the isle few years ago and have only recently come back because i love it. However i can barely play it, i have terrible frame drops and have too play on the lowest graphics settings. My PC is that great but its not a bunch of junk. My questions are 1. Is there anything i can do that will help? 2. If I were to get a new PC, does the isle require it to be an expensive piece? If anyon can help that would be so helpful, thank you!
By "expensive piece" I mean anything over a couple hundred pounds.
I've tried to join many server and I get kicked right away with this message or I stay in for a few seconds and then get kicked. I don't see any problems with my internet or The Isle. It's all servers that I'm admin on
so aperently after trying to join a full server 5 times it blocks the internet for 30 sec, any reason why?
because my internet is stable. you can count it on the clock after 30 sec, everything works again
there is literaly no hiccup in my internet, so I would appreciate it if people would stop saying "oh its your internet". Clearly its something that the game is causing and I would love to know why, as I am not the only one with the exact same issue.
@tawdry thunder I have the same issue of not being able to join servers and nothing I tried work, but maybe something here helps you:
AMD audio workaround (pinned discussion in The Isle's Bugs & Troubleshooting on Steam)
Restart laptop;
Confirmed File integrity through right clicking the game on Steam;
Have all graphic settings on Low;
Steam > View > Servers > The Isle Filter > Connect to one;
GPU Driver updated;
Turn off laptop then turn it on;
Managing Nvidia 3D settings for OpenGL to be the graphic card instead of Auto;
CMD > netsh winsock reset > restart;
Confirmed The Isle has firewall access in a private network;
Added antivirus exception for E:\Games\Steam and for E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle\TheIsle.exe;
Uninstalled and Installed;
Install Driver Booster 7 Free and update all the drivers it detects;
none of it worked :\
dude i just wanna play the game. i havent seen servers in the game in over a week and no one is helping me
@honest river I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post but I’m gonna just do a quick one— A person I knew for a while was able to run The Isle just fine on a gaming laptop that was pretty cheap-ish.
Ok so ive recently injected someone on a server that im an admin on, now their character is stuck in the sky, without a dino
no slay or bring or goto command works on them
they simply are stuck forever
does anyone know how to fix this?
@broken silo have you had them safe log and gone in and deleted their file and tried to have them relog?
@gritty linden say that here they should help
oh !
thx
Hey everyone ! I'm new to the game and this Discord
I recently purchased the game but when I try to join a server there is none
Is it just me or is it a common problem ?
There are other people with the same issue @gritty linden , don't know the specific fix but on Steam in the Isle's discussion part the solution might be in one of the pinned things of Bugs n Troubleshooting
@gritty linden

So i got a new PC and it can run V3 perfectly, 60 fps, high settings. But when i try and go on Thenyaw my whole PC crashes, sometime i can get in a take a few steps but other times i cant even get in to the server. I have to restart my PC everytime. I have changed all the settings to lowest and it still happens.
Any ideas?
WTF DID U BUY
It was a Birthday Present XD
IDK what it is XD
i keep getting a notification saying "kicked from server host closed the connection" every time i try to join a server. i have tried every thing from uninstalling the game to uninstalling steam, I've verified the game file countless times and i have tried running an admin command prompt and doing an ipconfig /flushdns, and netsh winstock reset. i have made sure everything is up to date. i can run and play other far more demanding games with no issues whatsoever.
@noble eagle welcome to the club
i tried so many shite i have no idea what to try at this point
@rapid loom This is the appropriate channel to seek help.
oh kk
hello im having trouble with the game. it might just me my side but i cant bite as a pred or fight as a herb. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling i even tried other severs but i cant do anything not i cant nest. what should i do?
Try this:
- Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
- Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
- Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
- Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type
%APPDATA%in there and open your%APPDATA%folder.- At the top you'll see the file path, click Appdata to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the Saved folder.
i have already tried that still didnt work
hmmm that's odd then. Did you verify integrity through steam?
i think so
okay if a dino has two attacks i can use the right click on it for that attack but thats it
@rapid loom I know it seems trivial but have you looked at your key bindings and made sure you didn't switch left mouse click to anything else on accident? Or maybe just try rebinding it in general to see if it works?
yes that worked thank you!
How does one connect to rcon?
is there a fix for the shadow flickering?
Okay so I built a new computer and went to play the isle but I cannot find any of the us official servers. I tried the ping settings on steam and still couldnt find them
@analog smelt Yup. They dont show up there either.
So I found the ip address for official us 1 and added it to my favorites list but says not responding which I assume means full.
can anyone help with this? I even tried to join someone already on US 1 and this is what I keep getting
@fair wind happened to my friend, still no fix I hope you are luckier than her!
any help is appreciated: friend has been unable to find Isle servers for months now. and before you ask, yes we did everything that the admins keep telling us.
- no VPN, did everything relating to the anti cheat virus
- she is not region locked
- did the steam ping thing
you also flushed dns and all that?
Yesterday i was playing rex and my game froze. So I restarted my pc. When i was back all isla nycta servers were gone? Its been like this for a day now.
I can join any server except islas. When i search for isla nycta it says no servers found. I did contact the the people in the isla nycta discord but seems like no one can help. So i thought i could try here. If anyone else has experienced this. Please let me know how you fixed it.
Symptom:

• Doing "Host" allows me to enter the game.
• After the last step below, of updating All drivers through Driver Booster 7 Free I finally at last managed to enter a server and played for 15m but had to leave the house so quit the game. Two days after when I went to play again it no longer worked, much like what happened to @StormTheDragon who after working once it never worked again.
My other games still run as expected, be it Singleplayers or the only other game I have which also works through multiplayer servers
Updated list of everything I tried:
AMD audio workaround although I don't an AMD card (the discussion pinned in The Isle's Bugs & Troubleshooting on Steam)
Restart laptop;

If anyone has any clue on the cause and a fix I would greatly appreciate useful input.
I already have 68m accumulated of "game time" and only 6 days left until the return period ends so I guess I'll try seeing what I can do and look for solutions until this Sunday.
@languid mantle if you are getting “kicked from server, host closed connection” messages, try reinstalling steam. You can close steam, remove everything from the steam folder except Steamapps and Steam application. Then rerun and will redownload the files.
ok so i followed all of the 'if servers are not showing up' steps and it is still not working
i have tried all of the max ping settings and still nothing
I have an issue with finding any servers in the game. I've changed the ping settings to every number available and nothing works. I'll either see 4 dead random servers or nothing at all. I can't play the game at all like this unfortunately. Any suggestions?
I'm having issues joining Official Eu 1, every time I join I immediately get disconnected. The message says "Kicked From Server Host closed the connection"
I'm having trouble with finding the severa BioIsle and Isla Nycta 3. Have I done something wrong? And I cannot find the discord server. Help.
So I keep getting this and nothing I've found online seems to fix it. Anyone have any ideas?
@scarlet chasm Thank you for the reply but honestly, I don't mind attempting a "refresh" to my Steam by clearing the download cache, however what you suggest is likely the one step I'll have to live with not trying because there are no guarantees it will work and then I'll have to reinstall all the other games which function perfectly when uninstalling and installing The Isle turned out fruitless. Tomorrow I'll clear the download cache and give an update, ty.
If you copy out Steamapps that is your backup. But I’ve had quite a few people solve the kicked host closed connection issue by doing the steam refresh
If the error is steam can’t connect to servers then it doesn’t help
@scarlet chasm I can only find 2 or 3 servers at a time.
I'm still able to play, but i'm not able to see anymore than 2 or 3 obscure servers. sometimes if i refresh to find more i can't find any.
@honest river do not just spam tag every admin. We will help when we are available.
Lower your ping settings in steam
If that doesn't work:
Open an Administrator level command prompt
- Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
- Right click Command Prompt
- Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
- Type ipconfig /flushdns
- Hit enter
- Type netsh winsock reset
- Hit enter
- Reboot your computer
- Open up The Isle
@mild garnet Sorry thanks.
Oh BTW, I can't uninstall Steam b/c I stream on GeForce Now, a program enabling window games on mac. I can access Steam, just not have it uninstalled. So any suggestions would be great.
Same problem as before and i'm still getting limited/no servers after multiple refreshes. After following all the suggestions above. @cinder abyss v Those sound kind of serious too.
So ive had this problem for quite a while now just have no idea how to fix it. I keep getting server connction failure. I have done the CMD thing and have even gotten a new 5G cable for my moms house. At my dads house the game runs completely fine but not at my moms i dont understand please help me.
So I've been having some odd performance issues when playing The Isle. Every once in a while, pretty often really, probably ever several minutes, my FPS will suddenly drop from 60 to 8-12 (sometimes lower), linger there for a minute or so, and then pop back up to 40-60 FPS. I don't know if it's a setting I have, or if it's my internet, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has had this issue and has found a way to perhaps levitate or even fix the issue? It doesn't seem to happen to other players, and happens on multiple servers I test it on. It was not always like this - some months ago I was having ping issues, constantly lagging, and friend of mine gave me some tips to keep my FPS on 60, which were a couple edits in the game's graphics settings ( I can't remember what exactly I did), and the game began to run much better ever since. Now for about a month, it's been doing these random FPS drops, and it's been getting worse as of late.
To reiterate since I dont think I got an answer lol, ( if I missed it my bad) this keeps happening and I've found nothing online as to why nor any way to fix it. Help please.
@somber wigeon have you tried reinstalling steam?
@dull hull You could try deleting the "Saved" folder which will reset all the settings to default in case a tweak is causing it.
@dull hull Try this:
@scarlet chasm yep
Im having a problem with random FPS drop to 1 back to 60-70 ive tried fixing it but never worked
Are region locks a thing because I’ve legit tried everything to get these servers to show up and nothing works anyone know a fix
Same problem the forum didn't help. Steam just wants me to take a refund.
Ok... @void shale try unselecting the "Hide empty servers" filter.
m having a problem with random FPS drop to 1 back to 60-70 ive tried fixing it but never worked
How long until it goes back up from the drop @honest river?
5 seconds 7 at the most
Ever noticed if you hear any velos before/during/after the drop?
Nothing spawns when it goes down I have been testing to see if it was ai and it’s no
Can you post your system specifications
https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
I get 30 seconds in from walking/running and it drops again and it’s continues to do that
Yes 1 second
It’s odd because I’m steady 60-70 FPS sometimes 100 but it drops for no reason every 30 seconds if that
Your GPUs drivers seems a bit dated , could you try updating them?
Yes I could
@scarlet chasm I apologize for the ping, but I wanted to thank you - I still have occasional FPS drops, but they don't happen near as frequently nor are they as drastic. 😄
Okay so it is day 3 of me trying every possible thing to try and find The Isle official US servers. Things I have done: 1. Adjust ping setting in steam 2. Flushed DNS Cache 3. Tried joining a friend who was already on US 1 3. Tried port forwarding steam 4. made sure my computer was in the DMZ 5. made sure steam and the isle have access through my windows firewall. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what might be going on?
@fair wind try turning off all search filters including the "hide full/empty" filters. It worked for me after everything else failed.
You could also try messing with permissions for the isle in your fire wall and turning down the ping limit to 500 (five hundred) also, if you have NVIDIA/GeForce Experience, optimize and open The Isle through it.
@honest river I've tried all of those except the nvidia thing cause I have an AMD card
Already did it. Literally used every ping option available
@fair wind have you tried the steam server list?
Hoping the recode doesn't have these same issues (fingers crossed!)
^that's what i use, makes things atleast slightly more successful considering the issues i have with it as well, atleast the servers show up, go to view at the top left of your steam, click it bring down the box and look for servers, go to that and then filter to the isle
course in that you might end up with the issue i have that my friend asked for help for me about and nobody ever responded to it, being that i try to connect to say, nycta 5, and it automatically connects me to nycta 2 instead
@fair wind
im having an issue with a 5500 XT i hold 75fps with 13FT but im getting a glitching effect when i play even on 0 ping
So I’ve been having this weird issue for a while and I’m not sure if it’s a connection or game problem. I’m also not sure where else to put this so sorry if this is the wrong channel to bring it up.
Sometimes my character will teleport or ‘slip and slide’ around and it hinders my hunting/ pvp. I’d tried lowering my graphics and restarted my router to fix this but nothing’s been working.
So when i hit play i only see little servers and my friends see all the servers and i have to refresh the page a lot to get the server i wanted
@merry moon that’s a desync issue and usually safe logging and coming back works, else bite the ground and it should correct itself 🙂
🙏 thank you so much, I’ll give it a try when I log back on if it happens again!
Sorry that’s the wrong one... one sec
@vestal sparrow
- Type
netsh winsock reset - Hit enter
- Reboot your computer
- Open up
The Isle
I'll try it when i get home
gg didn't even need to ask my question as its been answered above 😄
🤣
