sour shore
#

Alright, so the first thing you may want to do is verify your game files for The Isle

#

see if that works

shell nexus
#

How do I do that?

sour shore
#

go to your Steam library and locate The Isle > Right click it > Select Properties > Navigate to the Local Files tab > Select 'Verify Integrity of Game Files'

shell nexus
#

Ok then after that do I try to play the game again?

sour shore
#

Yeah, let it re-download the files first and wait for it to finish. Then you can re-launch your game and see if it has worked

shell nexus
#

alright

#

It just crashed again about a minute after I got on this time

sour shore
#

Hmm.. Alright, do you have all of your graphics drivers up to date?

shell nexus
#

I think so

sour shore
#

Perhaps double check? That could be the issue. Otherwise you can try restarting your computer, uninstalling and reinstalling, or deleting your "saved" folder in The Isle's directory which might help.

shell nexus
#

ok

#

I don't see a saved folder in my directory, I already tried the first 2 and wanted to try that. I might be going to the wrong directory on accident.

pale pike
#

Steam is not detecting a GPU, the game is likely to crash if you are running on a integrated video card

#

And your AMD cpu have a weird compatibility with the current game state. See this thread on the steam forum.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/376210/discussions/17/1780513643843541491/

Hey everyone, we are investigating the issue some users are experiencing with the character select and skin customization screens freezing, stuttering or otherwise degrading client performance. We believe that it's been narrowed down to the AMD Bulldozer line of CPUs, specifi...

shell nexus
#

Thanks, but it didn't work for me and I still crashed. Do I have to replace my video card?

amber tide
#

Yes

#

You don't have a dedicated card; which means you can't play until you get an actual graphics card

shell nexus
#

ok

scarlet chasm
#

Isn’t the Radeon rx 480 their card? Or is that integrated? Your drivers say they are from 2018 as well.

oh damn, alright, thx for the information

I wonder why the rain on the map helps tho^^

smoky pulsar
#

Whenever I join a test level I get kicked instantly from it. I can join sandbox or survival servers but thats it

amber tide
#

Verify the integrity of your game files

smoky pulsar
#

i did

#

didnt work

#

i reinstalled the game too

#

worked for like

#

10 minutes

#

its not letting me join any servers now

#

it keeps saying the host forced the connection to close

fossil moon
#

For me it's just not showing any servers at all

#

Like it can't find any at all

#

It just buffers endlessly

smoky pulsar
#

you might have to reload the game

fossil moon
#

I have restarted it, reloaded it, restarted my pc changed my ping settings in steam

#

Still not working

lilac thistle
#

@fossil moon You don't have anything entered in the server filter box on the right side do you?

#

Sometimes people add a space or type something in there.. So it just endlessly searches for a server with that name.

fossil moon
#

I didn't

lilac thistle
#

@fossil moon What firewall do you use?

amber tide
#

Try this:
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
IF that doesn't work, follow this:

Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle

#

Make sure you try all of the ping settings first

#

Please let us know if it doesn’t work after you’ve tried both solutions

#

@fossil moon

scarlet chasm
#

@silver shadow head over here and we can try to solve your problem šŸ™‚

silver shadow
#

Yeah, doesn’t work for any Dino I’ve played since staring to play again

#

The only other thing I’ve really noticed is that when I log into a server. The tutorial stuff that pops up in the top left labels the scent key as ā€œ[]ā€. Not sure if that helps

scarlet chasm
#

@silver shadow try this:

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

silver shadow
#

Yeah when I searched the problem that was the solution I found. I’ve tried it but it didn’t work.

scarlet chasm
#

Then restart your computer after.

silver shadow
#

Ok

#

I’ll give it another go

scarlet chasm
#

Hmmm, ā€œ[]ā€ would be 2 keys that’s odd

silver shadow
#

It’s just odd since the keybinds still list it as Q

scarlet chasm
#

@amber tide or @pale pike have either of you seen this?

silver shadow
#

Yeah no luck with deleting the saved folder

scarlet chasm
#

Have you verified the integrity of the game files?

silver shadow
#

No, I should have tried that before, I’ll do so now.

scarlet chasm
#

If that doesn’t work the two I tagged might have more info

silver shadow
#

Validating didn’t help unfortunately. Do I just wait for one of those two to see these comments or should I contact them through a specific channel?

scarlet chasm
#

I tagged them so they should see it

silver shadow
#

Ok, thanks for your help!

pale pike
#

Was your game closed before deleting the saved folder?

Did you try binding scent to another key?

Could be a simple keyboard language issue fixed by pressing alt + shift
@silver shadow

silver shadow
#

I deleted the folder whilst my game was closed. And I have tried binding scent to a different key

#

I’ll try the alt shift

#

Do I press alt shift in game?

#

@pale pike I tried alt+shift, doesn’t seem to do anything.

smoky pulsar
#

whenever i join a game it instantly kicks me. No one has tried to help so im posting it again because its still an issue

scarlet chasm
#

Im sorry no one helped you before @smoky pulsar. We will try to get this solved for you.

smoky pulsar
#

lol

scarlet chasm
#

I know this issue has come up for others just give me a sec. Is there anything you have tried already?

smoky pulsar
#

I have reinstalled

scarlet chasm
#

Open an Administrator level command prompt

  1. Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
  2. Right click Command Prompt
  3. Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
  4. Type ipconfig /flushdns
  5. Hit enter
  6. Type netsh winsock reset
  7. Hit enter
  8. Reboot your computer
  9. Open up The Isle
#

Try this and let me know if you are able to connect

smoky pulsar
#

it does not let me run as admin

scarlet chasm
#

Is there no option?

smoky pulsar
#

there is

#

it wont open

#

ever

scarlet chasm
#

is there another account on the pc?

smoky pulsar
#

no

scarlet chasm
#

You could try creating another one and see if you can run those instructions from there.

smoky pulsar
#

i retried it

#

said its an incomplete command

#

idk why

#

worked now

scarlet chasm
#

Running as admin worked now?

smoky pulsar
#

no, the other thing the ipconfig

#

it let me into the game

#

welp

#

that lasted 10 seconds

scarlet chasm
#

then kicked?

smoky pulsar
#

yeah

scarlet chasm
#

Well you need to be able to run both those commands from an elevated prompt

smoky pulsar
#

it wont let me run as admin, never has but it says my account is admin so idk

honest river
#

hi im back

#

i told me pc creator about this issue

#

they said

#

Thanks for the update.

If games with higher requirements have no issues I would suggest contacting the games publishers of the independent ones for more advice.

There may be a similar link between them (using same engine, written by same company etc).

scarlet chasm
#

Was the game installed on an HDD or SSD? I'm trying to remember

honest river
#

Is that the only drive you have?

Have a sort of weird issue...not sure if you can help or not...have over 200 hrs on the isle since purchase last month...& this weird little issue is very recent & only occasional...3 times so far. I play with an xbox 360 controller & last night, as the other 2 times it suddenly stopped working.

The only thing that preceded the incident was me logging out of one server to join another. The other 2 tines were also preceded by a logout/server switch. The next day play was fine...as said WEIRD & don't know what to do when it happens. šŸ˜ž

I know the game is only listed as partial controller support (as some others I've played using controller) & in my experience this usually only causes issues if changing the keybinding.

So far when the issue has occurred I've tried unplugging & replugging in the controller, closing out & restating the game & closing out & restarting steam...with no results. This issue only happens when playing the Isle.

Anyone have any suggestions I can try if happens again? Is it maybe a bug?

Any responses PLEASE ping me as am at work & will miss seeing it otherwise...thanks!!

scarlet chasm
#

@manic canopy you could try this:

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

@scarlet chasm AWESOME thanks...though hopefully won't have the issue again šŸ¤ž

@scarlet chasm and @amber tide So, little update real quick. I completely turned off the User Interface sounds in the game and it almost removed all the lag I was experiencing in the test level

amber tide

Interesting

hexed mountain
#

So, there’s something for other people to know if they are having similar issues

#

I guess most of the problems with lag coincide with the UI sounds

It also removed the lag from the skin screen

So yeah. Ui sounds create problems

That’s all I know

Idk if this is the right channel for this but is anyone else having issues with Isle throttling their internet? Doesnt happen with any other games. But it seems like over the past few months I cant play the game without it completely using up all my internet. I also get really bad ping.

It doesn't effect any other computers connected to the same internet. Only ones with Isle open.

You can't use up all the internet you have, that's not a thing

anyone know how to fix the no sound bug? game starts with sound and then when the menu comes up there's no sound
no sound in game either.
game and steam are both ran as admin, already verified game integrity .-. and deleted the "saved" folder in local like it said to do in the forums
none of these are fixing it so idk where else to go

#

now attempting a reinstall...

honest river
#

reinstalling didnt fix it. the game still has sound while the starting video plays and then nothing
Cinematic isn't an option for the audio so this isn't the cause of it
All other steam games have sound, so it's also not steam causing it

@honest river you could try this:

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

honest river
#

Did it already. @scarlet chasm

#

Didn't change anything. :/

pale pike
#

Can you look if you have any set launch options?

honest river
#

I have none set.

#

The game has sound until after the opening cutscene/video thing ends, once the main menu comes up there's 0 sound. :c

pale pike
#

Make sure your audio device is set to be the default one windows will use.

If you have any webcam, unplug it.
Any audio management program such as realtek? Try disabling them @honest river

honest river
#

The audio device is the default one. Will check on the realtek stuff, not sure about that one.

#

Removing Realtek didn't fix it. @pale pike

pale pike
#

What a weird issue

#

Ill have to look more into it ill get back with you later on

honest river
#

When it get's to the like AE logo or whatever it is, the sound cuts out completely. Has a weird pop sound? Then the main menu/in game has 0 sounds, and changing the sounds never fixed anything. Haven't played the game in a while, and it was working beforehand.

Gonna list the steps I've done that do not fix it, and hopefully someone can figure this out cause I'm at a loss xD
Verified Integrity on steam.
Uninstalled everything + Reinstalled.
Restarted computer.
Restarted game.
Restarted Steam.
Running steam + the game as admin.
Deleted "Saved" folder in AppData.
Deleted all "Config" folders/files.
Removed Realtek from computer entirely.
Checked for updates on all sound drivers.
Updating Nvidia card as I'm writing this.
Updated Java (not that this would be the issue).
Closed discord and ran game without discord open.
Sounds are not muted. Other steam games have sound.
Replaced "Saved" and "Config" from a friend's version of the game, still didn't fix it.

pale pike
#

Did you try getting in a server ? If so , how smooth was it running?

#

Im running the idea of the game perhaps using your integrated video card instead of the Nvidia. Not sure if it could affect audio though PeepoThink

honest river
#

It was running smoothly, just 0 sounds xD

pale pike
#

Yeah ok not using the integrated then

scarlet chasm
#

If you open the windows volume mixer is steam or the isle muted?

pale pike
#

There wouldnt be sound at first , I testedtwLULW

honest river
#

It's not muted, no. All sounds are unmuted and at 100%. @scarlet chasm

sour shore
#

Did you go into your in-game settings and ensure the volumes were up? Try messing around in there and see if that works.

#

I've had the problem maybe once before a long time ago, fiddled with the volume and it worked fine.

honest river
#

Yes.

#

It doesn't fix it. And they were at 100%. Changed it from Epic to all the lower options, no change. There are still no sounds once the game reaches the main menu.

sour shore
#

Are you using any headphones?

honest river
#

Yes, it's a USB headset.

#

Haven't gotten a new one since well before the last time the game worked.

scarlet chasm
#

Do you have regular speakers? Curious if you unplugged your headset and played sound through speakers if it would be different

honest river
#

I do not.

#

Everything else has sound on the computer, it's literally just this game.

#

Every other steam game, firefox/chrome, discord. All have sound.

#

The only thing without sound is The Isle

scarlet chasm
#

So the only things I’ve found for this issue it seems you have tried:

  1. Running as Admin
  2. Removing ā€œSavedā€ folder

The only other thing that was an issue in the past was someone had blocked a system file from updating:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/376210/discussions/17/2595630410177309067/

When I first start the game up I get a few seconds of sound, but as soon as I reach the menu it is gone. I've tried deleting the "saves" folder and validating game files, as well as checking for problems with the headset itself. Nothing. Strangest part of it is that the sound...

honest river
#

I've done both of those things, and neither of them have worked.. :/ I'll try again I guess. Idk.

@unkempt whale

If servers are not showing up:

  1. Click Steam in the top left of your Steam library.
  2. Go to Settings > In-Game > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000. Note: You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.

IF that doesn't work, follow this:

Open an Administrator level command prompt

  1. Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
  2. Right click Command Prompt
  3. Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
  4. Type ipconfig /flushdns
  5. Hit enter

  7. Hit enter
  8. Reboot your computer
  9. Open up The Isle

#

I am the one that Ruurei was trying to fix the sound issue for. Every time I start the game there is a loud pop after the opening movie plays and then when the main menu comes up there is no sound. I've scoured the forums and there are no fixes. 99% of the forum posts about it go unanswered. IF I have "effects" and "interface" at 0% the pop does not happen, but there is still NO SOUND.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled. Deleted all config/saved folders. My sounds are not muted. There are no launch options set. It is not my headset, I have sound on everything else. Literally everything else other than this particular game.

resetting winsock
turning all sound to 0% and sound quality to low when joining game
turning all video settings to low
Getting new graphics card Radeon RX 570
Deleting Save Folder

okay time to try asking here when it comes to the system requirements are the ones shown relative to achieving 60 fps or is it like a crytek studios made game where it's based heavily on cpu usage?

You're not going to get 60 fps with the minimum requirements, no.

It's very heavily based on your gpu and processor.. If you're below it; then you won't be able to play the game

Some people have been able to skirt around it temporarily while being under; but we can't guarantee that it'll keep working as it could randomly stop working at any point in time and we wouldn't be able to assist you since you're already below.

Hi, I have a really important question. For the past 24 hours my friend is unable to find servers on The Isle. She can only find one server (can't really advertise so yeah), the only server she can see is a server that broke a few days ago and has been having some ping problems. We've done everything from YouTube to Google, she's switched her ping up, uninstalled the game twice now, uninstalled steam twice, and reset her WiFi. Nothing is working. ANY help would be appreciated because we have no idea why she cannot find any servers.

Can your friend see server for the isle using that way @worthy mountain

If they do then they need to add the game into their firewall/anti virus exclusion list

Yes it's really a internet thing; her ports aren't opened

If it wasn't an internet thing; then she would've seen the servers through the steam browser

I have done all those things. I have -NEVER- had this issue with the isle. I even disabled all firewalls and tried to launch as a last ditch resort. Nothing. Tried finding the servers through steam. Found them but any I tried were 'not responding'

^What he said. If you can find them through Steam then restarting the modem/router would help and if nothing afterwards; then you'd need to open some ports.

@idle quail

That means your ports are closed and you’d need to open them. I’d suggest resetting your modem/router and I’ll grab the ports for you to open

@midnight halo Can you be more specific about your issue?

Can you start with what you’ve actually tried doing?

slow forum
#

I've change the max ping by going to the steam settings, the 1 to 9 steps and I opened the ports mentioned: 7777, 7778 and 27015 and I've allowed the isle to go through the firewall.

#

Just seems weird yesterday morning i could see all the servers and join, but later that day nothing.

#

Because i can see the servers if go to steam -> view -> server.

idle quail
#

same here

amber tide
#

If you can see the servers in the server browser, that means something on your computer is blocking the isle.exe

#

So you opened your ports correctly because you can see them in the browser; it's just something on your computer; whether it's a firewall or an antivirus

idle quail
#

i can't see them there that is the difference

amber tide

I wasn't talking to you in my above message

That's my current status I see them on steam, but not in the game. When I try to connect through steam it says the server is not responding. Maybe there was an update that I did and that made something incompatible with the game.

Delete your squad config files, open a start menu and type %localappdata% then hit enter, find the "Squad" folder in the list and delete it.

Next in steam right click squad and go to properties, then go to the Local Files tab and click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." button, Test that out and see if you can find servers now.

You basically have a lamborghini engine in a fiat

#

Your processor isn't that strong for all of that power you have; and it's actually below the minimum requirements for the isle as well

#

Did you overclock the computer?

wraith nimbus
#

i've never had trouble before though

#

i did but then reset it

amber tide
#

When did the issues start happening?

#

You also stated that it's happening with other games as well

#

Did it start happening when you hooked up the 2 gpu's?

wraith nimbus
#

in september and yeah it happens with alot of my games

#

no ive had this build for a year

amber tide
#

Any windows updates in September? What changed in September

Have you made sure all drivers are updated? I can see the gpu's are updated

wraith nimbus
#

i moved in to my flat in september

amber tide
#

Same power supply?

wraith nimbus
#

yeah same power supply

amber tide
#

And it's just the games that freeze and crash; and not the entire computer right?

wraith nimbus
#

sometimes the whole pc will crash

#

mainly the games though

amber tide
#

disable sli

#

with your corsair; is it in multi-rail mode?

wraith nimbus
#

i tried the sli and it didnt help and idk

amber tide
#

Is there a manual switch on it?

#

Should say multi-rail or single rail

wraith nimbus
#

i'll have a look

amber tide
#

if you're using the corsair psu with rtx 2080 ti's then it needs to be in single rail

#

Maybe when you moved; it switched over

wraith nimbus
#

idk where to find the switch

#

i'm awful with this kind of stuff

#

there are switches but they dont seem to be labeled

amber tide
#

I'm trying to find images of it so I can try to see how to determine which switch is what

#

You don't happen to have the manual still?

wraith nimbus
#

i didnt build the pc

#

so no

#

unfortunately

amber tide
#

Alright give me a few

wraith nimbus
#

okay

amber tide
#

Is there an actual Corsair program installed on your computer for the psu?

#

I think the AX1000i might have the switch digitally

wraith nimbus
#

i have icue but thats it

amber tide
#

open it

wraith nimbus
#

its open

amber tide
#

Go through the configurations and see if anything mentions single rail/multi-rail configurations on there

#

If not then you may have to download Corsair Link to see if it'll allow you to switch there

wraith nimbus
#

idk where to go for configurations

amber tide
#

Start searching around; I don't have a Corsair psu.. The setup you have is overkill times 1000

#

All I know is that multiple people have determined that the corsair psu needs to be in single rail with an rtx 2080 ti

#

I'm trying to download the programs myself to see if I can assist more; but since I don't have your psu you might just have to start searching through it

wraith nimbus
#

i have the software but cant find the power supply anywhere

amber tide
#

Try downloading Corsair Link and see if you can find anything through there

wraith nimbus
#

i have corsair link and it hasnt come up

amber tide
#

Unfortunately that's as far as I can assist you with; I can only tell you that you would need to switch it to single rail in order to stop having the issues with the 2080 TI. I don't have a Corsair psu so I can't walk you through it; and there's no real guides online. Feel free to contact whoever you bought it off of to ask them how to switch it

Hello! I've been playing the Isle on and off for a few years now and logged in most days last week. On Sunday, my in-game client stopped showing servers. I tried the steps listed above, including opening Command Prompt and doing ipconfig /flush dns and netsh winsock reset. Both ran successfully. I also went to Steam - In-Game and set in-game server browser max ping to 500 and then 1000. I then reinstalled the Isle, but to no avail. Someone showed me how to search for servers through Steam and I found the official servers today, but I get an error in Steam saying the server isn't responding.

Any ideas?

#

Reset my antivirus again and tried direct connect again. That worked. Whoops... How embarrassing.

Actually, a Quick question:
The game's screen freeze, very randomly, during the game, means that my computer is too weak for it?
When it doesn't freeze, i have around 30fps,the game is smooth, but then it just boom, freezes, making TI basically unplayable in hunting/defending.

I've been having this issue for about a week now. Every time I start the isle and try to find a server, it will either come up with no results (which is what i get the majority of the time), or a very small amount results listed. If I searched with no specific parameters the search would give around 10 results. I've tried so much to fix it but I can't find out how to, I've done flushdns winsock reset, I've had my max pings/min set to 1000 for 10 months and I've tested it at different rates as well, I've tried connecting through steam server, and the isle isn't blocked at all in my antivirus or anything either.

In that case.. Try this:

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

@whole citrus

For approximately the last week to 2 weeks, my game has had a significantly harder time finding specific servers, where before it never had any issues. I've tried every ping option on Steam, verified my internet security (Webroot) has full exceptions added for the game, and that all filters are unchecked, but no luck. I try to search with just the Official button checked and I maybe get 1 server if anything at all. I have tried winsock reset and DNS flush as well multiple times and it doesn't seem to help. Just feeling really upset because I want to play with my friends and spend sometimes up to an hour trying to get the server they're on to load, only for them to have to log off due to their local time. Hoping to at least get some insight into why this suddenly changed and try to figure out a resolution

Right click Command Prompt
Click Run as Administrator, click yes to grant permission
in the black command prompt window after C:\WINDOWS\system32>
type: ipconfig /flushdns
press Enter
then type: netsh winsock reset

restart everything, actually turn it all off and back on again (computer, modem/router)

#

What's the problem?

#

@solid sedge

fair tiger
#

him and lots of other people are having problems seeing any servers in the game browser. we've tried switching the ping settings and connecting from the steam browser and nothing has worked. we don't know what's causing this either because a few months ago everything was working fine.

pearl oxide
#

Hmm

#

Generally it's caused by internet security settings or general networking settings

#

You've already increased the max pings/minute in Steam?

#

That is usually the most common fix

#

A winsock reset may help too

fair tiger
#

I've tried the reset as well. It still shows no servers and when it does it's only 1-3 empty servers

pearl oxide
#

But it is pretty common currently for not every server to show up super consistently. I myself usually have to refresh at least once to see all the official servers

#

Upping the max pings/minute did the trick for me when I first had the problem, have you done that?

#

And of course double check to make sure you have added security exclusions for Steam as well as for The Isle in your anti-virus and firewall

fair tiger
#

Every setting i do it always shows up with nothing. I've even reinstalled the game.

#

I also made sure to do that as well

pearl oxide
#

I see you increased the max results in the search bar but did you change your ping settings in Steam too?

#

Not to ask repeatedly but I just want to fully understand the situation as best I can

fair tiger
#

I've tried 250 ping to 5000

pearl oxide
#

Have you tried flushing your DNS settings as well?

fair tiger
#

Yeah, and it still didn't work

pearl oxide
#

Hmm. I would still recommend doing another DNS flush and Winsock reset, then rebooting to see if it makes a difference. I can't think of what else would cause it unless it's security settings

#

I'll look into it more when I'm at my PC and ping you if I find anything of value

#

Do you have these issues with any other game? What other games do you play online?

fair tiger
#

This is the first game I've had this issue with. I play a ton of multiplayer games, mainly fighting games and league, and I haven't had problems with lag or finding games or anything.

#

I'll try another dns flush and see if that works

pearl oxide

Do the winsock reset too just to be thorough

So I haven't been able to connect to any Isle server for a while now. I was hoping biding my time would resolve this weird issue, but no luck there.
Once I launch the Isle and try to join any server, I get the 'Host closed connection message'
I flush my dns and reset the winsocket, and make sure my steam server is set to the closest available one. This allows me to play for ~5 minutes before I loop back to the 'Host closed connection'
Hoping someone could help me out. Been itching to play for a while, and some friends just started getting back into it too.

Your gpu is the issue

#

It's getting quite old , changing just that would probably fix it entirely

late pilot
#

ok

pale pike
#

In the meantime , try playing on a resolution closer to 13yy x 7xx

#

Should put less stress on your gpu

late pilot
#

ive had other crashes tbh

pale pike
#

Yeah but given your system speciffication , that is the only piece of hardware that would cause issues

late pilot
#

ok

#

but why do u think it teleports me back in time? and only this crash does it

pale pike
#

Though if you can screenshot other error messages ,feel free to post it here or dm me

#

That has to do with your client not synching with the server upon the crash , thus bringing you at a older place in time.

#

Nothing we can do about that beside fixing your crashing

split pier
#

I've been having UE4 Fatal Error (no other text given) crashes lately, my graphics care is a GTX 1080 8GB card

random badger
#

Same. 800+ hrs into playing the game and now I've been cucked by this error all day long lol

split pier
#

yeah, mine started yesterday and has been fairly consistent. I did have a good stretch this morning where it was fine

split pier
#

any ideas would be appreciated, as it's hard to troubleshoot an error with no error message lol

pale pike
#

Post your system specifications here

#

Though you can both try deleting your saved folder

Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.

#

okay, deleted the Saved Folder

#

same issue

#

also game UE4 crashed while trying to refresh hunt for my usual server

pale pike
#

Nothing wrong with your system specifications so the issue comes from the game itself I think , try to verify your game integrity and ultimately uninstalling the game (while making sure to also delete the saved folder again) and download it again.

split pier
#

Can try that again, though the previous times didn't really work either :/

pale pike
#

Does the ryzen7 2700x have an integrated video card?

split pier
#

just checked, it does not

pale pike
#

Any windows update to do? , is the game added into your anti virus/firewall ? Running it as administrator ?

split pier
#

yup to all

#

I'll double check with windows

#

even running Steam Beta for the more updated version

#

there are some updates for Windows, would the .NET framework updates help you think?

#

nevermind, they didn't help

pale pike
#

Beside reinstalling idk what else peepoShrug

split pier
#

yeah, it's been a massively disappointing time :(

#

though at least have been getting some great attempted assisstance from the team here

split pier
#

just wish there was a way to repair the UE4 in the back end since that's what is screwing up. Or at least a way to find out what Fatal Error is causing the crashes

pale pike
#

I mean you could delete just the ..../engine/content/ in your steam folder and then verify integrity ,it should download just the engine again

#

I mean inside the isle's folder located in your steam folder*

split pier
#

will have to give that a go as soon as I find it

#

@pale pike I checked and don't see an /engine/content folder but I do see /engine inside The Isle's folder. Subfolders are Binaries, Config, Extras

gritty swallow
#

Hello, I've got a stupid question here but I'm a bit confused... I read through some of the Steam discussions for using other OS to play the game, and it looks like Mac is not being supported anymore. However, I've been told that if it is run on low graphics it works okay on Mac. Is this true? Is there any way that it would be possible to play the game on a Mac without using a Windows emulator?

main canopy
#

I've got Gigabit ethernet running with Gigabit internet, but my ping seems to be outrageous when playing the Isle.

I'm based in Utah, but my ping seems to hover around 300-400 MS when playing official US 1.

Do we have a port open list to assist with latency issues? Or any other recommendations?

pale pike
#

@split pier erghh I was at my workplace so I said it outof memory ,let me take a look and ill come back to you peepoHappy5

#

@gritty swallow the game doesn't support macOS , it may work on low graphics for now but nothing says it wont stop working after a few days

split pier
#

no worries @pale pike I figured you'd get back to me when able

pale pike
#

upon looking , it should be the ''Paks'' folder located in Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle\TheIsle\Content @split pier ,
move it somewhere else and then veirify the game integrity through steam and it should download it back

midnight venture
#

Okay so according to google internet speed test, I have really good internet. And I can load google quickly and I have no internet problems there. But, whenever I try and load into multiplayer games such as primal carnage, the isle, no servers are popping up, I constantly have to refresh in order to get at least 2 servers to pop up. Sometimes it just says ''no servers found''. If I have good internet, I dont know what oculd be the cause of my issue. Im not very techy, so if anyone knows what could be going on pleasee let me know. ā¤ļø (Sry for the repost i thought i fixed it but i didnt).

pale pike
#

what are the step you tried so far to fix it ? @midnight venture

midnight venture
#

Restarting the computer
Reinstalling both games (primal carnage extinction and the isle)
Turning off firewall
Running steam as an admin
Changing my internet

And now im here xD @pale pike

#

This issue happened suddenly, and has been going on for about 2-3 weeks

#

For primal carnage extinction, it first started with me not being able to play at all, after reinstalling both games now i can refresh the page a couple of times until a server pops up. Same with the isle. And im not sure what is causing it

pale pike
#

if you haven't tried these then I would suggest doing so @midnight venture

If servers are not showing up:

  1. Click Steam in the top left of your Steam library.
  2. Go to Settings > In-Game > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000. Note: You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.

IF that doesn't work, follow this:

Open an Administrator level command prompt

  1. Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
  2. Right click Command Prompt
  3. Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
  4. Type ipconfig /flushdns
  5. Hit enter
  6. Type netsh winsock reset
  7. Hit enter
  8. Reboot your computer
  9. Open up The Isle
midnight venture
#

Hmm okay ill try it!

#

@pale pike Once I have changed the steam ping, do i reboot my computer

#

or the isle

#

or anything

pale pike
#

relaunch the isle if you were in game

midnight venture
#

Okay

gritty swallow
#

@pale pike Alrighty, thank you

midnight venture
#

@pale pike Tried both things, didn't work. But I think i noticed a slight change in how fast the servers pop up when i refresh

pale pike
#

unfortunately I can't give a definitive fix for this issue sadpepecry

midnight venture
#

Its okay M3

#

ā¤ļø

#

You helped quite a bit!

scarlet chasm
#

You could attempt to reset your router too

midnight venture
#

Idek how to do that xD

#

told ya im not techy

pale pike
#

Unplug it wait a minute and plug it back it will reset it

midnight venture
#

okay

fair tiger
#

I've fixed my issue. If you have any sort of virus protection, turn it off before opening the game and then you can join a server. After that you can turn it back on

pale pike
#

Or add the game into your anti virus exclusion list , does the same !

split pier
#

I added the Isle to mine, didn't seem to help

#

Think my game is cursed xD

midnight venture
#

@boreal wolf I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. Have you found any solution??

Alright, so to find what your GPU is you will need to type in 'device manager' into your windows search bar
@ancient leaf

ancient leaf
#

Will do

#

Tbh I will still probably get a new PC since the current one is a bit physically broken

sour shore
#

Once you have the Device Manager box open, you will need to look for this:
Just look for the drop down menu 'display adapters' and click the little arrow, I just pulled up mine for a quick example

ancient leaf
#

Sry if it takes a while it's updating

#

You can go back to discussions until I get it on if you like

#

It's showing me everything except GPU for some reason

steady kettle
#

try to start the program "dxdiag" on windows search bar

#

it will show what's your graphic card on "display 1" or something like that

pale pike
#

This is better to see your specifications

ancient leaf
#

Ah ok thanks

steady kettle
#

You don't have any graphic card

#

you're using your processor

#

So if you can't run the game, don't search further away lol

#

that's the problem

pale pike
#

Your cpu is also below the minimum requirements

ancient leaf
#

Hopefully I can either fix this or just buy a new pc either this or next month

steady kettle
#

the processor doesn't look that bad

pale pike
#

Its a dual core

#

Minimum is quad

ancient leaf
#

Ima check the game's requirements

steady kettle
#

Well it's a laptop anyway, tbh it's not advised for gaming

#

If you want to game in "good" condition with a laptop, you need one who cost at least 1500 if not more

ancient leaf
#

true

#

yeah Ima just buy a good desktop and stop playing games on this

#

thx for the help though really appreciate it

steady kettle
#

If you buy an actual computor, I would advise you to not buy one from a store or one fully made on internet

#

the best would be to use a website where you can chose your components and ask for them to build it if possible

ancient leaf
#

This sounds stupid but you can actually ask them to make one for you? lol

steady kettle
#

Yeah for some websites you have an option +30 or +50 euros average I'd say

#

to build it

ancient leaf
#

So should I just copy + paste the isle's system requirements and send it?

steady kettle
#

it have to be a website specialised in pc gaming tho, you can't do that on amazon for exemple

#

Nah

#

First you should establish a budget, then ask some ppls who know this kind of stuff, on forums or even here

#

they will tell you what components you should take

#

then you do your order

ancient leaf
#

ah ok

steady kettle
#

Well it's if you want to save money

#

You could still buy a built computer on some websites but they're actually scam unless you have a lot of money tbh

ancient leaf
#

I'm gonna go further educate myself for this stuff lol

thanks for the help bro
