Whatās the problem
was playing normally and suddenly my gpu started clocking down as you can see in the screenshot of the graphs and I had horizontal lines going across my 2 monitors
and because of that fps was dipping like cray
last time it happened I thought it was because of the temps on the gpu so I made a new fan curve and set a higher temp target and all that
but this time it wasn't even reaching the same temps and it just happened
last time temps were around 80C, this time it was around 75 with a top of 78
from what I noticed at least;-;
79*
That would be a question for #server-hosting
Ah, cheers - i put it in there and remove here.
Is there a problem with the currently cause I am not getting any servers
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
IF that doesn't work, follow this:
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
I am getting kicked from every server its says "You have been klicked from the server, the host has closed the connection"
Even my own
Follow the above steps for flushing dns
Hello! Iām having an issue with a ādark shadowed circleā around my character in dev test levels. Let me post a photo
Hi, I'm having an issue
It says "Removed from the server"
Host closed connection
It happens when I try to log on any server
I played for months until today, because this is just happening today
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box

Try this @bleak elk
@pale pike I tried and still the same problem
The game loads, and I hear and see it rendering for a second, but it just loads again and I get the message
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder and then retry it
Also didnt work
Try restarting Steam as administrator
I tried it again, nothing changes, today I also tried rolling back the video card driver and verifying the game files integrity, but no success:(
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
Runned as admin, no success
Go to the server channel that youāre on and tag an official server admin. If one is online theyāll ask for your ign

@amber tide i dont understand what the admin did but he just got me away the theri and give it back and now i dont have the problem anymore but if it does it again imma try your thing, thx
Youāre using integrated graphics and you havenāt updated them since 2015...
You shouldnāt even be able to play the game. Lower the settings and update all of your drivers
@honest river
LOL yeah... I just bought it new (part picker store, still in package) cause my old card died so i needed something. I updated it as soon as i installed it. I'll go through and see what i can do š
what settings can I lower to reduce lag when in large herds in the game?
everything
Textures are the settings that changes my fps the most followed by resolution
In order to enable in-game sound while you're alt-tabbed out of the game (such as reading discord or browsing a website), follow this path on your PC:
C:\Users\ your username here\AppData\Local\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Find the 'Engine' file and open it by double-clicking
Add the following string to the file:
[Audio]
UnfocusedVolumeMultiplier=1.0
Save the document
Ah
@fair flare
Now thatās good to know, Iāve always wondered about that!
It's super helpful when you're both playing the game but suddenly need to tab over into the discord for moderation š

opened the game and hopped on the same server and same results
this all happened after i tried hosting a server for testing and force closed the game after i got stuck on a black screen
Were you trying to use the frozen north map\
nope, just the provided test level
managed to launch a hosted server, will try to hop on a public now
found out it was a server sided issue, thanks for your time
as juvie trike while holding q am unable to smell food or water and compass doesn't come up
type %localappdata% in your task bar search box and press enter.
scroll down to the isle, open it and delete the "saved" folder. @coarse sand
I got it fixed for some reason when I closed the game I had running on my other screen and relogged steam it fixed it
somehow the EU official servers aren't showing up in the server list for me, the US servers are showing up though
⤠That's great to hear
unable to eat when holding E have already deleted the isle saved folder in app data and relaunched
@coarse sand Did you verify integrity of game files?
I didn't do that but it started working some point last night. But I'm still have a lot of bugs with the game
Try doing that, and if all else fails reinstall the game. I've had to verify my game files before and it helped me in the past.
ok will try it now
Can anyone help me
With?
So I tab out into discord and I tab back in and my Dino wonāt stop moving forward so I have to fully restart my pc to fix it this has happened 2 times now
Have you tried alt tabbing back again
š
@wise olive That would be better to ask here instead.
š
Hey guys! How do you change your view range? since i can see dinos disappearing in the distance.
@warm sentinel That depends on your settings with view distance: From low - Epic
Cinematic isn't really technically used to play with constantly; it's more so for pictures and such. If your view distance is at epic then you're as far as you can see into the distance then
Mhm
Ah okay Thanks! thought best setting was cinematic
iirc dinosaurs aren't affected by the view distance
The range that i can see a dino is still the same š¦
And for some reason i cannot turn the game to 4k
Oh lol
It doesn't help that Geforce Experience now shows The Isle and recommends Cinematic...
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.

even after constant refreshing and typing in the name of the specific server i can never find them and im always reliant on-
wow ok thx a lot lol
instantaneous

okay so, i got sent here, i have a problem, my computer was havin issues last night with the boot.ddl file and wouldn't load up properly so i did a reset which allowed me to keep all my files in a basically locked up version called Windows.old, the problem is that includes all my steam files games ect.
i wanted to see if there is a way to pass those files onto my new steam folder or if i just have to re-download everything
i get the problem might seem trivial to most, the difference here being im from Venezuela... so most downloads take 3-5 days per game depending on size
@thorn geyser You'll most likely have to re-install everything
that's what am afraid of
like i have all the files
all of them... just was wondering if there was any way of saving it...
reinstall steam, copy the steamapps folder to the new installation from the windows.old copy
thing is, they now have the staging folder and they changed the way installed games are recognized. you should still be able to get it to reinstall quickly, without downloading the(each) whole game again.
i'll try that thank you m8
So Iām having trouble finding servers, no official servers are coming up when I refresh
@worldly forge No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam youāll see a little button labeled āSteamā, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
@honest river I donāt see a settings button?
Copy that into your browser and hit the "Enter" key:
steam://open/settings/
Does it open for you?
You may have parental controls on
@scarlet chasm it worked thank you for the link and also thank you sly for fix
No problem!
how do i join the game? Im confunzzled
What's up @tardy schooner ?
You start the game, hit "Play" and click join on a server
i cant find the button theres nothing to join?
You can't find a button? What button
im tryna find a button to get into the game bc im only seeing the discord and i dont know how to join the actualy game
actually*
You have to buy the game through steam and open the game through steam
What are you talking about you only see the discord
ohhhh
You're not making sense
@amber tide
I can't find the official servers..,
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.

How many ti'c in a day night cycle?
game tic's
also what is the relation to real time?
tag me with answer please thanks.
In relation to real time? So 60min is 1 day in game? 60 tics?
I believe so yeah
ok so when i hop into a vc in discord i cant hear any in game sounds, but then when i use a web browser discord i can hear in game sounds while being in a vc, I have figured out the problem why this is happening but I dont know how to fix it. The web browser discord's ouput device is default- (headphones im using) but the actual discord's output device is just ''default'' what is going on? please help ā¤
The actual discord app's output device (doesnt work)
the web browsers or website's ouput device (that works)
try turning down this sliding bar in your discord settings @midnight venture
it is all the way down i explained the problem in my little paragraph i just need to know how to fix it
In your output device, can't you select the headphone (Bose....) whatever full name it is?
I can but its not default: headphone bose
And default: headphone bose is what works
Have you tried it?
Okay so when i go into google chrome i can open up discord as a web browser, i go into a vc call and I can hear in game sounds and listen to people talking at the same time. However, when I use the actual discord app i cant hear in game sounds and people talking at the same time. This is because the web browsers ouput device is Default: Headphone Bose. But the discord app has a different ouput device, just ''default'' and there is no option for default: Headphone bose.
Have you tried it?
Tried what?
Changing output device
Yes
But there is no option for default: headphones bose in the discord app version
Ty, answering questions usually make the process faster, I cant know the fix to your solution without knowing what you have done or not
sorry
Ok so, try restarting your application as administrator
You're welcome!
My 11 year old wants this game. His PC specs are AMD FX360 6-core, AMD Radeon RX560 (think it is 8GB) and 8 GB RAM. Will this game run on his PC or crash and freeze?
@broken ice I believe that will run it just fine
okies TY
@broken ice here are the current requirements
The RX 560 is a 2017 gpu vs the minimum (a late 2013 gpu)
I went over that but wasn't sure on the graphics card as his is newer but when I researched it was unclear if his was a higher level or not
Ahhh ok, looking at it now I think it should be fine (may have to have lower settings).
It'll be fine but it'll just need to be on medium settings
Which is still perfectly fine to play
Thanks @amber tide
Hey im a female carno and cant nest tried biting the ground allready and reloged
@obtuse perch does local chat say invalid location?
no nothing
Have you tried relogging?
yeah but didnt help
You are an adult carno right?
yes xD
I know that female carnos have a problem with nesting but I'm not sure
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder and then retry it
Nesting is a bit wonky right now. You'll have to either relog, and spam bite while hitting the nest button and making sure it's on flat ground.
Or deleting the saved folder would help assist a little bit as well
Any combination of the above will help in getting a nest down
@obtuse perch ^
Says no servers found, not sure why, restarted the client and wifi nothing happened.

Game keeps randomly muting people, mostly in group, or the person that invited me to the group
@honest river how do you tell which number is the best for you?
@gentle mist You just mess with the settings and see which one fits best for you.
Guessing whichever one shows you the best amount of servers. If you are finding the official servers just fine, don't mess with it.
@solemn latch Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

How can I report a server that has people younger than 13yo?
You can pm Punchpacket but the team doesn't care about things like that
Hey, my friend @heavy flare is have problems connecting or even finding the server we have talked to the admins about if he is banned and he isn't banned, any help would be great

ok so ive been getting this error all day and cannot load into the isle game itself, wtf does this mean and how do i fix it? i verified my game files and made backups but its still not working
It usually means that your computer is under the minimum requirements and you won't be able to play the game because of directx11

@amber tide
Your computer does not meet the minimum requirements to play the game
You need to have an actual dedicated graphics card instead of using integrated graphics
So youād have to upgrade that
but i was playing it yesterday?
are you saying i need to purchase a new gfx card for my pc?
It doesnāt matter whether you could play it before. It can work randomly but you shouldnāt of been able to play it at all to begin with. You can try running Windows update and seeing if thereās any updates, the integrated graphics havenāt been updated since 2016
Yes
You can also try this: Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
On your computer
this might help
C
go to that one then
"Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe"
should be fine from there
what was the last one before you hit that error?
Then unfortunately youāll have to upgrade your pc for it to work consistently. Your computer is just too far below the minimum requirements
Itās a miracle it ever worked
Start running updates then to see if you need an update
When your computer is below the minimum requirements, it can stop working at any point in time
Well unfortunately then thatās the end of the road. Sorry š¦
Itāll probably randomly start working again, or you can revert the update you did before
i might have found the problem...lets hope this eorks
It says you have an Intel integrated graphics... an nvidia driver wonāt help with that...
Iām not sure why youāre downloading a nvidia driver? Steam is showing 2 gpus but listing the second one as a render driver
What graphics driver did your computer come with besides the integrated
Thereās only two things left that I can think of for you to try.
You can either revert the update that you said you did earlier today, or you have an actual gpu thatās been reverted to the secondary driver from the update you did. So if you have an actual dedicated gpu thatās not the integrated one, you would just need to give priority to it over the integrated graphics driver
But unfortunately thatās still not a foolproof way to get it to work because your computer is still way under the minimum requirements to play the game. So you may get it to work with a miracle, but probably not

Are servers still down from steam maintenance somehow? Still no servers since yesterday even though I tried changing up the numbers
You should try clearing your dns cache if you haven't
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
@sinful kiln
A temporary work-around if you are unable to get server results from steam in-game, is to goto the steam client, click the view button, then servers, select the isle on the bottom left and join a server through this list built-in to steam
@sinful kiln can you see any server when doing what's above?
@sinful kiln Im having a similar problem but I can find all the servers but one I've been playing on my entire time on The Isle, I've tried all work arounds and trouble shoots but no solutions I still cant find the specific server I played on. Ive contacted the server admin and asked him about it but he says im not banned and server is up and running so I assume the game is faulty at this point
Yes this works thank you
That means that something is blocking the actual game.exe from accessing the internet
So youāll have to start whitelisting and adding it as an exclusion to every control program.
Does anyone know how to fix my scent not working, it isnt even in the controls
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
Alright, Ill give it a shot!
Alright lets test it!
It worked! Thank you so much!
Glad to be of assistance! ^_^
Im having the same issue as vFize and ive tried everything to fix it. All the google answers, all the steam discussions and nothing is work...
working*

i want to get fullscreen, but i can only get windowed-fullscreen no matter what i change in the settings
alt+enter can make it windowed, but is there any other way to get fullscreen? :/
i updated my pc and whenever i go in game. it sound like im underwater/in a box
any fixes? i have also tried uninstalling the game and re installing it, that did nothing ill try restarting my pc and ill let you know
i have also tried restarting and that didnt work
Same issue ^^^^
@knotty perch @fair epoch So I had this happen to me before but I found that it was an issue with my headset, have you all checked your audio source?
well i have been on other games and they all sound the same except the isle, i dont think its the game because obs everyone else would have the same problem. but i have no idea what to do i have tried to update my sound driver aswell and that did nothing
@honest river
@knotty perch Did you try verifying integrity of game files or deleting your saved folder?
ngl i aint the best with computers could u show me what that is?
@knotty perch Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Try deleting your saved folder first

@honest river
Yes
Yes go ahead and try again
it worked cheers
When i search server up it turns out as not found
But my friend searched it up and it showed for him
How do i fix this?
@modern bridge No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam youāll see a little button labeled āSteamā, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
Thanks ! š
No problem!
Changing the max pings to 1000 worked. Thanks!

Make sure you followed the steps correctly, there shouldn't be any reason it doesn't work.
Sometimes 1000 isn't the correct number, possibly try for something like 500
1500 maybe
If it doesn't work, this might help:
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
also try using the steam server search, it sometimes shows servers that don't show up in-game (at least for me)
@modern spear nah still same ı also try steam server search ı can see servers there ı try connect but nothing happen
ı was playing without problem ı travel to another country now ıcant see servers ı try to change dns but it doesnt help
I have issues with my sound, making everything sound like the isle is a big spaceship. No issues with any other game or music, anyhone having the same issue or kn ow how to solve this?

That gpu should indeed support dx11 hmm..
i was just playing a couple of hours ago
Try updating your drivers
I'm sure it appears in youtube
fair enough
you either use a software called ''Nvidia Geforce Experience'' which will download the drivers you need for you
or you can find them here https://www.geforce.com/drivers
Download the latest GeForce drivers to enhance your pc gaming experience and run apps faster. Automatically scan your PC or search the driver database for compatible GPU drivers.
thank you
that Nvidia Geforce Experience should be on your computer already , if not it should after manually downloading the drivers from geforce.com
alright
Oh true that works cool and it's easy to use
Any one having issues with the new 5700?
Seems like a pc restart has solved it for now
hello, I'm having a issue with the official server, it keeps saying "Kicked from server. host closed connection" and i took a break from this game and it's not working for me on the official server
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
ok thx
Heya, I was playing with a friend and suddenly my computer froze (my computer has done this once already but that problem is on my end probably) however after I force restarted my computer both my Audio and Microphone stopped working (they still not work at the moment) this could be my computer, as while playing I was in a discord call (audio and mic being used) but since I turned back on my computer and opened The Isle, the AE logo intro was missing, a black screen with only my cursor visible, when I click with the mouse the black screen goes away and the game brings me to the main menu where I can normally play and do other things.
So long story short, did the game (pumped up by the freeze) cause the audio and mic death + the missing intro, or is it just a coincidence and it is my computer that messed up pretty bad?
The game wouldn't cause your computer to crash and for everything else to stop working; it would be an issue from your end
Whenever you're playing I would suggest that you monitor your cpu power % and see how much is being used in the task manager
Have you restarted your computer yet?
Was thinking it probably was from my end, I sure gotta check that CPU and yeah I restarted it many times
Sat there and checked what could have popped both my well working mic and audio,
Anyway, weird that now the intro is missing for me
Maybe verify integrity?
<@&401466542140817419> im having an issue with a rule violation
Tag the Official Server admin role in the appropriate channel, and the first of us that becomes available will help you out
well ive already delt with @bitter roost, @pearl oxide according to him meand a fellow packy were in violation on the rules of mixpacking as herbs, when according the rules set out by @lilac thistle on the official steam rules and guide lines page me and the fellow packy were in the right when decided to intervine in a fight between a trike 3 rexes,
That thread may be in need of updating. Which it will be, however the Message of the Day in the server specifically states trikes cannot mix with anything except Dryos.
well thank for the support on this issue but if a regular player doesnt have discord then according the rules set by packet that information is in the wrong
There's a big warning message with rules when you login to the server
You do not need discord to know the rules given to you when you first login
If you can't follow the rules clearly displayed on the server when you login that's your own fault and no-one elses. Otherwise contact myself or an admin in DM's as this is not the place, this channel is for helping users who are encountering technical issues with the game.
Iām not sure why, however I can not locate secure or official servers, it says no servers available
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.

That usually happens when the Graphic Card doesn't support dx11. What graphic card do you have @late pilot?
770
The 700 series fully support dx11 so that is not the issue, I suggest to try and update your GPU's driver and restart your computer.
I have an issue where I can't see very many servers that my friends are able to find and play on. So the only way I can get into a server that is populated is by joining on my friends, which doesn't work either half the time as I spawn into some gridded map with different texture samples and such (not sure what the appropriate name for this area is). Any help that you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Also; update your gpu since you haven't updated it since 5/22

@lean river the card is pretty minimal in the first place. It seems to struggle with rapidly changing terrain. Not sure much can be done to improve that.
pretty minimal lol
Well performance wise compared to the minimum requirement of gtx 960 itās only slightly better. If your graphics arenāt set to the lowest I would start there to see if it improves during chases.
So has anyone found a fix for not finding servers in game I've tried every option I've heard of so far and I know alot of my viewers have the same issue

Usually means your internet is unstable, are you watching twitch/youtube in the background, someone else using the internet?
I would suggest to lower your internet usage until you get into the server, networking issue arent really my area of.expertise i dont much else to try

Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
But you should also post your system specifications , follow this method to get it and copy paste it here
How do I get to cmds anyway
Write cmd in your taskbar search box
having the same issue, tried all the forums issues and nada.
only happened on my new desktop not my old one, which is dead.

that is very very very unlikely to run any unreal engine game, ever. refund before its too late or if you have a more powerful desktop PC with a dedicated graphics card try it there
ouch, sorry friend
ive had the game for over a year and it just started with y new desktop, but it runs other games? x:
is there a way to fix it
a low grade office laptop like that? nah, need a new computer
i linked the steam support section above
https://steamcommunity.com/app/376210/discussions/17/2952595757885548268/ my spec since i dont wanna spam the chat with the specs
try contacting steam
@lyric plover your specs are good
@feesh it loads the level and connects, try joining an official server though, screwy third party servers and settings can make for weird issues
same message?
Thats what it does to me
and are specs are kinda similar
I just got 1 more unsupport
no they are not similar, at all
your PC is like a stick raft, and Feeshs is a luxury cruise ship by comparison
Yeah they are nothing alike
@lyric plover i see your GPU's driver could use an update, try doing that and restarting steam as administrator if everything else failed
im doing that rn because steam told me to a-- a
@pale pike I thought I did give me step by step how to do that just incase?
It worked for me š¤·š½
If you have GeForce experience, you can open that and check for updates in the drivers tab
Down the line you'll encounter several other issues with a spec like that Xclusive
Otherwise can download from nvidia website for your card @lyric plover
@scarlet chasm says im up to date via geforce
game clients working, its probably networking related
436.30
ok
a PC and modem/router restart might be good
ill try that real quick too
i just bought this comp LOL for the isle it best workfor it
PCs fine, its something not too rough i feel, just gotta work through to find it
It could be possible that something running in the background is triggering the anti-cheat (if nothing above works)
Restarting the modem/router and ran as administrator so now we wait to see
š¤
Im not sure what would be causing an issue if not this since i only had bnet and steam open plus discord
Get discord for mobile
knocks on wood

I keep getting the fatal error message upon starting the game, been working fine since i got the game and I can even run it on cinematic so I'm kind of confused about what could be causing it. I did the netsh winsock method, didn't work. Deleted the folder, and reinstalled, didn't work.
can you show screenshot the error message please?
I need help joining servers it always kicks me out when it loads and says: https://gyazo.com/d4fae166a6a8c46057705b394fbd8e49
Ive reinstalled, done the flush and lots of other things still doesnt work
Yeah just a second
@raw sky try restart PC, modem/router and run steam as an Administrator, worked for a similar issue just before
hah, super informative message that one eh?
Very informative, and super helpful
Post your specs using the gif that El Paco linked

Your driver's last update was 5/5/19?
Minimum graphics requirements are also GTX 960 or higher
It claims to be up to date when I try to update it, which I don't believe.
Games been running fine for months, so that seems false.
There was a driver update for your card on 9/10/19
If the manual check doesn't show an update I check the nvidia website
I'll check for it real quick then
I searched the 900 series and selected the 950, not sure if anything else needs to be changed for the search but it showed up for me :0
Most of my drivers i update via my driver updater so maybe it just sucks
I'll look into it, I don't mind paying a few bucks to keep my pc healthy
done a restart yeah?
It's possible that the game is trying to use your integrated video card instead of your 950, in your Nvidia control panel you should be able to give the priority to the 950
@small ice
I believe when itās the top shown one; thatās the one with priority, but like someone else stated; he has to update his gpu and itās almost 5 months out of date
Also is below minimum requirements as well so youād have to drop your settings to low/medium
Updating worked, thanks everyone for the help I never once thought to manually update my drivers, feeling kinda stupid but happy it worked.
Glad we were able to get you setup, welcome back!
(Also id like to point out that it claims to be below requirements but runs high and cinematic views without a problem)
That's because only your gpu is below, you cpu seems to be able to take most of the load but the game will still state you are under the requirements if even only 1 pieces of hardware doesn't match up the requirements
Can anyone tell me what is causing this? I get this message on every server I try to log into. I have talked to the Isla Nublar admins and we tried to troubleshoot in every way we could think of and nothing has worked. Until I get this fixed I canāt play The Isle at all! Please help me! ššš
You can try this
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Look for driver updates,
Restart your modem/router,
restart steam as administrator
Try all of the above @vague smelt
Already tried all of those @pale pike
Those are all things the admin on Nublar walked me through trying along with going to Steam to verify all my Isle files were not corrupted
Use the steam server browser through the steam client and see if anything pops up
If it pops up through there, that means something is blocking the game
i have been having trouble lately where I cant see bodys, kinda getting annoying and its happening all the time now. <@&505047238674874368>
So you're saying that when you kill someone and they drop; their body just disappears?
ye
Never heard of that before so I can't really say I can fix your issue outside of having you reinstall the game then.
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
@honest river is it on one specific server or several
Ok so when I open the isle it says that the host has kicked me out of the game I have tried everything and dont know what to do someone please help.
one specific server
@honest river
then its mostly to do with the server. their body timer might be really low
speak to the admins about it, see if thats whats up
@amber tide I deleted and reinstalled the game and it still wonāt let me into any server. You mentioned something blocking the game. How would I find out what is doing it and what do I do to stop it?
Any work around with the sound being deafening when i face away from any sound source ingame? Im haveing a hard time hearing ever since windows updated 2-3 weeks ago from now... Ping me if necessary
What settings effect lag in game the most
@honest river Same thing is happening to me the only thing that lets me play is if I host a server the only downside to this is it's hard to get people to join which usually makes it pretty boring
If you guys have tried every fix on the steam forums, try this it fixed it for me last night.
updated drivers - if already done, move to next step.
restarted modem and router - wait 1 min to reconnect
restart steam as administrator. Close it down completely.
@honest river
guys for some reason im keep getting kicked from every server i go on with the message external host closed the connection..
Anyone know what to do when this happens?
Update your drivers
How do we update our drivers?
You go to your manufacturers website and download the newest update
Win 10 is good, something with 4+ cpu cores, 8gb+ RAM and a dedicated gpu (probably gtx 10 series). but that should be a good start.
But the isles doesn't work
do you know how to fix it
and stuff to download that might fix it?
I'd suggest you look further than a operating system.. Almost everyone has windows 10 and it doesn't mean anything as it's just a operating system
how do i make my fps higher? im using a surface pro
i am
Then that's about as much as you're going to get as it shouldn't even be working for you
oof
Yeah I've been having the same issue "kick from server" error.... send help?
You can try this
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Secondary option:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
Third option:
Follow the below steps and post your pc specs and make sure every single driver is updated
https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
Bruh tf anyone else having this prob? If so u know how to fix? pllssss help ;-;
damn i have that problem too :,(
same, my connection is okay, everything is updated, but what am i missing
idk

x(
mhm
whats going on
Yeah... this game is messed up right now....
Sad times we live in
@true osprey I'm having the same issue.
aw geez :(
Aw jeez rich.. not again
@barren vessel Follow the below steps and post your pc specs and make sure every single driver is updated
https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
Memes are not allowed in the discord unless you're posting isle related memes in #608693014054830103
If you're all having this issue; follow the above
That's interesting because I don't see your pc specs posted anywhere if you did the following
where do we post the specs at?
I was just about to ask that
here
ah ok
Your computer is below the minimum requirements to play the game
And you haven't updated the gpu since November of 2018
ik that but it has been running perfectly fine until now?
and i only got the isle in jan
Can't post specs
@barren vessel does it load the map and then kick you or does it not load the map at all?
says I'v over the 2,000 limit
well it loads it for like a second then kicks me
restart your PC, your modem/router and run steam as an Administrator
give it a go and see how you go
And update your drivers
its probably the same networking issue that has been showing up here since the last steam client update
restart PC, restart modem, steam in admin. see how it goes
well ya but would there be like a vid on how to restart the modem, steam in admin?
Omg im stoopid
steam admin is right click menu
gl, let us know what happens
Ran steam as admin. did not fix issue
I can't post pc specs because the character limit is set to 2,000
did you do the restarts of PC and modem/router?
copy n paste a bit then
processor, RAM and graphics card are what we need to see

nice
alright so it worked ty guys so much
@safe yew update your graphics card drivers via gefore experience or the nvidia website, but do the restart PC, modem/router and then run in admin, in that order
@barren vessel NP, if you see others with the issue let em know the fix, its a steam problem, not a hardware or game problem
ok will do
I did the Nvidia update today but I'll try again
It says I have the latest Geforce version
I have the GeForce Experience on my pc
oh wait, are you/your OS american?
ahhh
its all the steam update
I had a feeling
your drivers are fine, just do the restart PC, modem/router & run in admin, in that order
all good, let us know if it sorts out your issue
does it load the level then after a minute kick you or does it not load in at all?
are you selecting an official server?
Yeah i figured they would be the best bet
try hosting your own private server to see if it loads up
It worked for a while when i did the restart but as soon as i logged off and tried it again I'm back in the same situation
I'll try that
Hosting works
unfortunately I have to call it a night. This suck because I really enjoyed this game but until this issue is resolved I wont be able to play it. Better luck to others out there with this issue.
its not the same issue
No
you need 2 minutes in the command processor and a restart
I can host but not join
I'll try some more trouble shooting tomorrow but as of for now this is as much as I can do
Really appreciate all the time you gave to this @thorn kestrel
Have a great night buddy
i'll DM you the fix and see how you go tomorrow with it
Really appreciate that!
it doesnt work it says "Host closed the connection" nothing works
specs + what you've tried and does it load the map then kick you out or does it not load at all?

haleluja ! i start steam in administrator and its OK! thank you so much!!
all good
After updating Windows 10 and my Nvidia graphics/audio drivers, the sound in my game has started doing this weird thing where sounds out of my viewing distance become very faint. I can be standing next to a broadcasting rex, and if I turn my camera away from it, the sound will drop to a tenth of the normal volume
tried the audio fix in Pinned messages but all it did was temporarily disable all ambient noise until I restarted my game
also sounds inside my view distance have now become VERY LOUD
I'm currently having problems when entering the servers. I try and then I'm kicked out and a message appears saying "Host closed the connection". My computer is brand new and I was able to play the game with no issues on my laptop(very low graphics TBH but the servers were no problem) just yesterday. I tried all methods I could find online and none worked. I was wondering if there was a method you guys know that I haven't tried yet. Can someone help?
THISš
Exactly this, since Wednesday, September 11. I've already spent 55+ hours trying to fix it, with more than 20 people, Discord, in-person, and Team Viewer, and am still having issues with this "Host closed the connection"
I have already performed EVERY possible action I could find to try and solve it, including gpu updates, cmd prompts, reinstallation, rebooting, network resets, and everything in between. Maybe I missed something, but I've got at least 3 IT friends that tried helping, and they couldn't figure it out either.
I have this same issue and if it on the rare chance I don't and it loads the server, it'll just show the map like it's loading but never loads my dino or select screen or anything.
yup
@mint roost
Okay so there was a fix on here that people were trying and it worked for me so it might work for you
First, make sure all your drivers are updated and restart your computer
restart your modem and then run steam in admin mode
and then run the game
already done that. twice
I didn't try that one just yet. I'll try it and tell you guys if it works
so i have no problem launching the game etc but when i try load up a game , it loads and when it reaches 100% it kicks me out, this is happening with all the servers like DM and official. Anyone know how i can fix this?
Yeah a bunch of people are getting this problem, Tanga :/
so it cannot be fixed atm?
Not sure tbh
Some people can fix it easily and others just can't for some reason
There isn't a consistent fix atm
Which kills me I love this game to bits
Does this happen to you too?
Yes, on my brand new pc no less
Hello! help me plz: cant eat and drink. what i did: rebind the E key; relogged; change the dino/server; delete the safe folder; uninstall the game; What should i do next?)
i'm also having that kicked out problem as well :(
Which solutions did you try?
i've tried CMD prompt, restart modem, rebooting, network reseting, and updating my drivers. I've been wasting 7 hours trying to solve this kick out thing.
the restart modem worked when i first joined, but when i join a server second time it went back to the situation
Same here and yeah you tried all options I know :[
damn D:
i've also been having the joining issue today so i hope we can find a fix
Hi. I come back to the game after a week of absence caused by computer failure. When he tries to log in to the server, he is thrown out of it. You also have such a problem?
Yeah a bunch of people are having the same issue (me included)
Did you try any fixes?
Like, cmd and open steam as administrato etc?
The newest connection issues are caused by the new Steam update unfortunately for the Isle. So in order to try to fix this; you would need to reset your modem/router and also flush your dns cache by the following:
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Also make sure that all of your drivers and Operating system (Windows) are up to date; please visit your manufacturer's website to get the most recent update.
Be advised that you will also have to add The Isle.exe as an exclusion to your antivirus to make sure that the game file isn't blocked from accessing the internet.
Please run Steam as an administrator and restart your PC as the last step to make sure everything sticks and it's fresh.
Be advised that it's working for most people; some people have reported that it's still not working and would need to repeat some steps
I was able to log in. I played 5 minutes and was kicked from the server. :/
Read the above
i keep getting this. Any way to fix this?
That wall of text above is good for you too @honest river
i have no idea how to do that
i did that, not working
same, i think the best bet is waiting for another update to see if that fixes it
yknow whenever you die, there's an electrocardiogram that beeps a few times before going flat that is displayed under "deceased?" yeah it's only a black box for me. i've done the cache verification, a reinstall, and another cache verification, and it's still a black box. what should i do?
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
is that what i should do overpowered? (just wanna make sure it's for me before i do it)
Yes
Hello, i have a problem... every time i try to join a server it says " Kicked from server, host has closed the connection" I've uninstalled steam, updated my drivers and everything... i dont know what to do now and Im really bummed
Please run Steam as an administrator and restart your PC as the last step to make sure everything sticks and it's fresh.

alright thank you
omg thank you overpowered.... this seems to have worked!!
Yeah, it might stop working and you'll have to repeat it maybe.. The Steam update has made the connection issues... undesirable
what about my issue? will someone help me? the problem: "Hello! help me plz: cant eat and drink. what i did: rebind the E key; relogged; change the dino/server; delete the safe folder; uninstall the game; What should i do next?)"
Sounds like it might be an issue with your keyboard; change your keyboard out
No, i cant join any server i tried everything but it says: "host closed the connection"
I Will try this
my friend is having issues with The isle where whenever she connects to a server it kicks her with the message "Host has closed the connection" does anyone have any idea's? please @ me in response thankyou

I'm having trouble using Scent as an Herbivore:
- I'm standing still
- It's not raining
- Official US 2 - Trike
- I'm holding Q until the Dino stops making ANY animations.
- It is not raining, at all!
I'm not getting anything lighting up, highlighting, glowing or otherwise.
I get atleast a compass at the top of the screen when I played a Rex, but never anything as a Trike.
Probably try the following:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

How do people get like little emojis next to their names in game, it tried it but it didnt work, I had these other weird emoji symobols instead of what i picked ? is there like only certain emojis you can put in your steam name to show up in game?
This is a troubleshooting page for issues with the game; you can try searching your answer up on google or looking through the steam forums
Still getting the "host has closed connection" message.. will i ever be able to play again? This is very frustrating
Until Steam fixes it with another update; you're gonna have to keep doing the same thing you did earlier
Of course
hello, i have a problem with my ingame sounds.

Hey been having a lot of connection issues, games telling me kicked, something about connection lost
Yea, just a refresh of the server
The official servers just restarted about 5 minutes ago if you're referring to that
No itās been happening for a couple of days. Iāll send a photo of what it really says after my shower

Read the last sentence
Yeah if youāve followed all of those steps it seems like something that you might just have to wait for a fix for.. as unfortunate as that is
I'll try reaching out to one of the devs to see if they've ever seen it before, it's not really a game breaking bug, just a cosmetic one so we'll try to see what we can do but what we've stated/what you've done so far is basically every fix for the game
When I ran the isle as an administrator it finally worked!
Different things work for different people, you're just gonna have to try them all
Up to and including resetting your modem/router
i'ma assume my issue is a lost cause š
for some reason my game wont let me connect to any servers at all...... ive tried wiping my computer and everything and it still doesnt load......

I'm seeing very few servers listed when I look at the server list. All the ones that do appear online are under 10 people. Any idea what's going on?
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
I did that twice and it doesn't seem to work
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
That worked!! Thank you so much!
Woo! Glad it was able to help you!
Have there been any problems with nesting or am I doing something wrong? Im holding my button to put down a nest but nothing is happening.
My mating status is capable and theres nothing under "nest site"
make sure you're on flat ground; if it doesn't work then spam the bite attack while hitting the nest button. If the problem persists; relog and try it again;
Seems like I have drivers that are out-of-date! Any specific driver updater that you guys suggest?
You need to use your manufacturers website to download update
Ok. My pc tower is a gaming tower by Cyberpower. So I just need to go to Cyberpower to download updates?
Cyberpower is a company that sells computers; it's not an actual manufacturer of computer parts
So you need to look up what computer parts you have to go to their website
You can run "Windows update" and it'll do most of your drivers; but for things like your graphics card; you need to go to whatever company's website
So if it was an AMD graphics card; you would go to amd.com, or if it was an nvidia; you'd go to nvidia.com
Oh ok. Yea I use AMD
Go down to the bottom and find the autodetect tool and install it
It'll grab the update automatically
Ok thank you
Hello i dont know if this is right location on discord but could someone help me with the SCENT function, i dont have it in OPTIONS in the game....
Probably try the following:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
yeah i have tried find the Saved folder but i couldnt find it either, i tried also reinstall the game

i have even try this look at ( 3:23 ) and forward

Youāre not following the steps correctly then
There is a saved file because thatās where your settings are stored
Verify the integrity of your games files
okey and how do i do that?
Right click the game
Click on properties and itās somewhere there
Iām not home to tell you exactly where
gonna see i youtubed
should i DELTE THE WHOLE Saved Folder or something in it??
i Erased the Input file now it works
thanks man
(Y)
Youāre welcome
is there a known issue with the game not being able to get over 1 fps 0.o
Nope
Follow the below steps and post your pc specs

<@&505047238674874368> for some reason my game wont load any servers i have tried adding an exculsion to my firewall and i have tried changing my ping i have even tried disabling windows defender and i have tried wiping my compurter. nothing has worked so far
Open your steam client; go to the top left and click on "View" then go to Servers; filter out for The Isle and click on search and see if any servers pop up
if none pop up then i'd suggest either opening your ports; or resetting your modem/router
If servers appear; then something is blocking the game
Then something on your computer is blocking the game.exe from accessing the internet
Unfortunately I don't have your computer so I can't tell you what programs you have
You'll have to go through them yourself and figure out what controls what
what should i start with?
Whatever programs control your internet
You can also try this: Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
And see if servers pop up under that executable
ok ill try real quick
Good luck
still no servers found
what type of file would i be looking for that controls the internet?
You're not looking for a file
You're going through your programs
This is about as far as I can help you; good luck on your search
is there any way you could tell me what type of program im looking for? im not very good at this stuff.
A program
That controls your internet
Fire wall; antivirus; other misc. programs that you might've downloaded
all i have is windows defender i allowed the isle in the firewall setting and still nothing
i even turned off the firewall and tried loading up the game and still no servers found
would this be the spot to ask for help about my resolution
it wont change when i hit apply
Probably try the following:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar of your computer
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.

so i was able to get a couple of servers to load up and now they wont is it something to do with my wifi? <@&505047238674874368>
Use a Ethernet cord
how does the modding work(if this is the right chat to ask. sorry its been a lil bit
There is no modding
Is there anyone here who can help me with some troubleshooting
What's the issue
I'm having the "No Servers Found" issue and I looked it up and switched my server browser Max pings from 5000 to 500 and it worked for 4 hours and then I went to get off and come back on later and when I got on it was giving me the "No Servers Found" again, I then tried to switch it back to 5000, re load, switch back to 500, then I checked my firewall and gave The Isle permissions to private and public things and it's still not working
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
If that doesn't work; your last step is to open the Steam client itself; go to the top left and click on "View" then click on Servers and filter for The Isle
Sounds like a problem with your connection though if it worked the first time through the ping options
The last one worked thank you
The steam client?
Yes
That means a program is blocking the game.exe
Ok, I don't know what that means but I'll just keep connecting that way if it worls
*works
ok so this is the first time it has happened
but when i crashed via same error i get this time i was put back in time to a certain spot with my dino and ive had this crash alot and it has never done this
Fatal error [File:Unknown] [Line: 200]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x997A0006 - "HUNG")
im not sure why it took me back in time this one time
is there any way i can do a voice chat with a developer really qucik... or an admin <@&505047238674874368>
@late pilot update your drivers
@lyric surge what do you need; no one is going to go into a voice chat
still the same problem as a couple of days ago no servers are loading
it would be nice if a voice chat could happen because have been able to play this game for a month now \
No one is going into a voice chat; sorry. Something on your computer is blocking access to the game; thatās not something we can help you with. Youāll have to go through the different programs on your computer to see
Or you can reset your modem/router and see if that fixes it
do you have any idea what kind of program would be blocking it because i have the virsus protection off and the firewall off
Thatās something youāre gonna have to figure out by experimenting. I donāt know what youāve installed.
yup
You said that the steam browser worked so you can double tap servers to join them
