@neat thorn nothing really changed... it works at the 1st time, but as soon as i click refresh button then it's gone and i keep not receiving all servers (or none)
Well poop
If none of the others worked
@Raven A temporary work-around if you are unable to get server results from steam in-game, is to goto the steam client, click the view button, then servers, select the isle on the bottom left and join a server through this list built-in to steam
Or reset your internet connection/modem
can anyone help me? my fps has gotten down to like 20 from yesterday when it was near 100, i've tried putting my settings as low as possible but that hasnt done anything
i think it has something to do with this
nvm
fixed it
Sounds good!
Any Staff able to help?
With?
Hi there, what can we assist you with
I have friends that just got the game and they are unable to see EU servers, I had the issue before but it was a long time ago and I forgot how to fix the issue
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
If that doesn't work, then send them these instructions ;)
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Sounds great! Have a good time!
it was the same thing I had to do haha
😉
Hey people, so it isnt letting me nest as carno. I have done left click and B. I have tried relogging and I have also tried restarting my game. Dont really know what else to do?
Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
@red relic
@amber tide Thank you ^-^ I will try these
You're welcome 😄

Could someone please help me with in-game sounds?
What exactly do you mean @fickle prairie
for some reason every time I join a server, my dinosaur never appears and nor does the menu
I can only see the part of the map where I last was on or the entire map
I can still hear the wind and the chirping and what not

@quiet raven
Could someone help me out with this? So every time I try to join a server, it kicks me out as I load in saying, "Kicked from server, Host closed connection." I've tried with a couple servers some, one of them I've never played on. I don't believe I've been banned, because I haven't gotten any notification. So I don't know how to fix this.
Nevermind. I switched computers, and now I can play. So I believe that it is an issue with my computer.

No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
If that doesn't work

Right click CMD - Run as Admin

@amber tide
Sorry for the delay we must be on massively different timezones.
My in-game sounds don't work at all
But everything else on and open on my computer, the sounds and volumes work fine
It's just The Isle

Does it happen when you don't have the headset plugged in?
I don't have external speakers
But I've tried setting the sound to my tv which is hooked up but still no sound
Okay follow these instructions:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
Okay I've done those steps
Okay restart the isle
Nothing 😦
Do you hear sound at the menu?
Still no sounds at all
1: Right click on the speaker/volume control on the right side of the control bar (where your start menu/etc are)
2. Click on "Sounds"
3. Go to the "playback" tab.
4. double click on either your speakers or headphones (I recommend doing both just in case)
5. Once opened, click on "Spacial Sound" tab
6. In drop down menu, set spacial sound to "off"
7. Apply changes.
Are your head phones surround sound 7.1?
Yes
change your speaker configuration in the windows sound settings. Right click the volume icon on the taskbar and set the speaker setup to Stereo instead of 7.1. It's possible that 5.1 may work, but given the spotty support of surround sound in Unreal there's no guarantee.
How do I get to that setting?
From the desktop, right-click your taskbar’s Speaker icon and choose Playback Devices.
Click your speaker or speaker’s icon and then click the Configure button.
Click the Test button, adjust your speaker’s settings, and click Next.
The configure button is blanked out, I'm not able to click it
ok right click sound picture on bottom right click playback devices make sure the kraken is set to default device on both communication and device
Do you have synapse installed?
I do, I just noticed I can;t actually enter the settings for the headset
It doesn't let me click it at all
Also it says it's the default device
When was the last time you updated the drivers from synapse?
It automatically updates itself so I'm not sure
Go into synapse itself, and see if the isle is muted inside of the mixer
razer sometimes automatically mutes programs
I've got both Razer Central and Razer Synapse open but I can't see anything about the Isle
In that tab yes, and all are unmuted and normal volume
Okay so i'm gonna do a little more search cause my next course of action would be to uninstall synapse, uninstall the drivers, unplug the headset, restart the computer then redownload synapse and then plug the headphones back in
but give me a few moments
I'm willing to if it comes to that, it's been like this for 6+ months and I've tried so many things to fix it..
Can you check to see if you can get there and see if it's checked or not
It'll be in the playback devices > click your headset properties > open the advanced tab and see if the exclusive mode is checked
Both are ticked
uncheck it
Both of them or just the top one?
uncheck the top one and it'll block out the other
Ah okay, done
Nothing 😢
You wouldn't happen to have another headset to do a quick check with them would ya
I just tried to set it to my tv speakers but still no sounds but I can try with my bf's headphones
btw when you opened synapse and went to the mixer tab, was the isle open?
try it with his headphones if you can
😉
But why doesn't the sound come through my tv speakers..?
synapse is blocking it
yeah, it doesn't really make sense honestly lol. a good amount of people have this issue with the kraken
Would uninstalling my headphones and synapse make it work with my headphones?
try rerunning the configuration test with your headphones
in essence, it should work after a uninstall and reinstall cleanly
For some reason the configuration button is blanked out
Oh awesome
How do I do that?
Open Start. .
Click Settings. .
Click Apps.
Scroll down and select Razer Synapse.
Click Uninstall.
Oh wait
I plugged my headphones back in and the sound it working..?
But will it work if I reopen the isle
😄
I would try uninstalling synapse and reconfiguring it
and keep an eye on the mixer tab
Yeah I'll do that now
Okay all uninstalled
Should I unplug and uninstall my headphones?
yes
Okay awesome
I don't think it uninstalled..
Cause I plugged it in and it didn't say it was installing new hardware
O_O
I went to device manager and uninstalled it
then plugged it in
then it came up like it was already there
Like what..?
go to the synapse directory and see if it's there. if it is, there should be a Uninstall.exe
open file explorer, and do a search for the name synapse and see if something pops up
Nothing
your computers weird, do a restart
xD
OR actually
plug your headphones in, and open the isle and see if there's sound WITHOUT synapse
Okay done, and I'll try that now
Yes!!
She works!
It took us almost an hour but you fixed it!

lmao
Thank you so much!
you're quite welcome! Welcome back to The Isle!
You're name is honestly so fitting
Thank you for having the patience to fix this for me
No problem, glad we could get you squared away 😄
Once I changed time to day at testlevel map happened...this. Eternal "night" around my dino. I tried to change time again, reinstall the game twice, wait for night time at any server, etc. - nothing changed.
V3, Thenyaw are ok.
same in spectator mode
anyone know why many servers arent showing up. In order to see servers like officials and my own I have to go on the steam server browser
I only see chines , german, and russian servers
(also just moved so i feel like that has something to do with it)
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
@pale viper
it worked, thanks 😃

@vivid phoenix
Good now. Thank you!
when i click play there are no servers

@real swallow
If that doesn’t work then follow these steps:
Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
ok i will try them
1st one didnt work how do i open the administater thing
@amber tide
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
while in game or on steam?
On your computer
Has nothing to do with steam
Open a command prompt from your computer
Type in your search bar "command prompt"
Type ipconfig /flushdns
hit enter and then type netsh winsock reset
Then restart your computer
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
👍
ok i resarted my computer now what?
Open the isle
there are still no servers
A temporary work-around if you are unable to get server results from steam in-game, is to goto the steam client, click the view button, then servers, select the isle on the bottom left and join a server through this list built-in to steam
do i need to click the boxes that say offical and stuff
You don’t need to check anything off
It’s steam
Top left
Whatever server you want to play..
it just put me back to the isles menu
Your firewall is blocking access to the game client itself. Unfortunately I’m not at home to g through those steps with you right now. You’ll have to go to your antivirus/firewall and add an exclusion for the isle
oh ok
You’re gonna have to use that steam browser to join servers from now on until you can get your antivirus/firewall sorted.
i turned my anti virus off its still not working
You can also try this last step to see if browsers appear
Also, try this step as well:
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
steam folder?
Where you have steam installed
No problem, looks like you’re gonna have to use the steam browser to get into servers until you can add it to your firewall exclusion
i dont know what that is sorry for making you explain everything im new to computer
what does it mean when it cant connect to the subsystem
this has never happened before
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
oops guess im not playing anymore
i have no idea what any of that means
but thanks for the help
Haha alright, go to your windows search bar and type in "Command prompt"
ok
Before you click on it, right click it and click Run as admin
It'll be a little blank box that looks weird.
Ok
Type in ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
I see
Then type netsh winsock reset and hit enter
and it should say something along the lines of reset successful
After that, restart your computer and open up the isle
Ok if I mess it up will my computer have a stroke
Nope
yeehaw
Hi, I can't log. that said "host closed the connection"
someone can help me with this?
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
@viral osprey
I'm so tired of this
Unless I use the native sound card built into my computer, all the surround sound is crackly in The Isle
I don't fucking get it. I need help.
7.1 surround sound doesn't work correctly in the isle
Has nothing to do with the game itself, it's from unreal engine
there's a workaround you can attempt which is changing your speaker configuration in the windows sound settings. Right click the volume icon on the taskbar and set the speaker setup to Stereo instead of 7.1. It's possible that 5.1 may work, but given the spotty support of surround sound in Unreal there's no guarantee.
So, we will never be able to experience decent 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound?
What's the point when you're supposed to hear sounds from all around you?
I hear sounds from all around me just fine
It still crackles...
Like, when things are very close up or in your ear. It's on stereo, right now.
What kind of headphones are you using btw
it was Sony at first, now I'm using Hyper X Cloud Revolver S
No matter what headset or sound format I use on another sound card, it crackles.
I just bought 300 dollars worth of a headset and two sound cards
It's so bad...
You said it works fine with the native sound card?
Yes.
what sound card are you using that makes a cracking noise
Any sounds crackle when it's too loud, even when the volume is low.
I don't have this problem anywhere else.
what sound card are you using that makes a cracking noise
I just received my Cloud 2's in the mail and upon plugging them in(They are wired and USB only) I've noticed that when I'm in a game or watching a video there is a frequent popping or crackling noise. It's not too loud but it doesn't happen with my PX22 Turtle Beach headset o...
You're not the only person
Seems like the product itself
Like, it's not idle popping.
That's exactly what the other people are saying
Youtube works fine
Everything else works fine. It's just The Isle.
I've verified my files, switched sound drivers so many fucking times on Realtek
Feels like ever since this latest motherboard update, I'
I've been scrambling.
Are you using the usb dongle whenever playing the isle?
USB dongle?
Well, yeah, I have to.
I can use the native sound driver, but what's the point of my nearly 200 dollar sound card when I can't use it with The Isle? It works fine everywhere else.
do me a favor, try switching to another USB port
a lot of people are having the same issue as you with the hyperx, so I'm not entirely sure what could be causing your exact issue. but I do know that unreal has a problem with surround 7.1, which the hyperx is
Even in my normal headset, when I use anything except the native sound driver, whether it is 5.1, 7.1, or even stereo
it crackles reeeeally bad.
Even a utah's bork next to me crackles.
Oh well yeah, that's because unreal doesn't do well with 7.1
Stereo is doing it, too
Turn down windows volume below 100
I do
Try 80
It's on like... 20
Oof
Switch to another usb port and test it
and see if it still does it
It might just be whatever sound card you're using is faulty
Sounds like your aftermarket sound card is borked
Or possibly it's being overdriven in sound settings
Head to the sound card properties and check out out volume there.
I've tried to, but I'm not sure..
How exactly would I do that? I went throuugh device maanger and sound settings
You’re not sure of what?
Have you switched the USB ports yet and tried it
Yes.
Are there ports on the back of the computer I should try? Cuz I tried all the ones in the front.
Yes
Should I never use my ports in the front?
They work, I'm just wondering why The Isle is the only game I have issues with.
I think my motherboard can't handle when sounds become really loud in game.
Unreal doesn’t work well with surround 7.1, 5.1. If your sound card is the hyperx, then a lot of people have complained about the same problem and their support is aware of it and have issued replacements to people. If it works fine with your native sound card then it’s your aftermarket sound card
Realtek is the same way, too, isn't it?
It used to work fine, somehow... Nothing crackled, I was able to set up enhancements...
It pisses me off how unreal crashes every time I try to change sound settings.
Will unreal be able to resolve it issues with surround sound? I can't play The Isle unless I'm on the native sound driver, now.
Hello a friend of mine has been playing the isle fine but recently today started to having the camera bug https://youtu.be/djW-Wsq_ql8. Does anyone know how to find it? He has uninstalled the game, unplugged his mouse and keyboard and I'm not sure how to resolve his issue

His dino died and its sill doing it it stops when he hits escape to where the logout screen is but he has never had this issue until just today
Ask him if he's performed any windows updates today
It doesn't affect him when he's hit the logout button because you can't move the camera in that screen
He said no to the windows update
Tell him to do a windows update and make sure everything is up to date
He tried to join this server but it asking for a phone number and he doesnt have a cell number to do that so I'm trying to mediate
Can I give you his discord info if your able to contact him directly
I'm not really sure what you mean by asking for a phone number. All he needs is a discord invite link
Sure
Tell him to add Overpowered#5588
Problem: Camera moving wildly by itself.
Issue has been resolved. User had a "controller" aka guitar for guitar hero plugged in.
Fix: Make sure all windows drivers are updated and no controllers/guitars are plugged in. 😄
It was a sneaky one

How do I listen to an administrator-level command prompt?
type "CMD" (without the "") in your taskbar search bar (could also be in your start up menu), once you have typed that, you should see an icon appearing named "command prompt", you right click it and select "run as administrator" @lilac field

@pale pike
Why Can't I see all the servers he can?
I Need a hand with servers, I am trying to play with a friend but when he opens his server screen it shows tons of servers but when I do I have about 10
No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 500 or 250. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle. @cobalt vector
@empty citrus in what folder did you delete your saved files from?
@pale pike Thank you very much! 😃
@pale pike my %APPDATA%
@empty citrus yeah that's the right one, if deleting the saved folder didn't work, I would recommended uninstalling the game, and deleting the entire isle folder in %appdata% before redownloading it again.
@pale pike redownloading now
let me know if it worked or not!
@pale pike still isnt fixed 😦
do you have any sort of controller plugged on your PC?
nope @pale pike
and your E key isn't faulty in other games or while typing ? Like when you hold it down does it spams the E continiously ? ( or whatever key you used to eat/drink) @empty citrus
@pale pike i believe i forgot to uninstall the controller after using ScpToolkit
so i plugged the controller back in
and uninstalled it
and then it was working fine
I see , glad you got it figured out 👍
thanks for your support @pale pike , i appreciate it
you're welcome!
@pale pike but even then its odd that it stopped working mid way through me playing the game
I wouldn't be able to tell what the interference was between your ScpToolkit and the game , not quite my area of expertise to be honest
yeah
Shadows Flickering someone have a resolve?
So when I click like log out and what not the sound just cuts out and I cant click anything. I can see my mouse on my screen and what not. I'm not a big PC player so I cant really figure this out
Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Verify the integrity of the installation files through steam as well.
@bleak sequoia
My game freezes a lot ingame, I've verified my files, reinstalled the game, and deleted the saved folder. My computer is able to handle epic settings so I don't think it has anything to do with my computer. However, it usually freezes due to sound effects. I turned sound effects off and there was no freezing.

Go through and update all of your drivers, your graphics driver is over a year out of date
@thorn shard
thank you both, i do realize some of my drivers are out of date but i thought i updated em a while ago
yeah, last update is from January 2018 😄
But between updating the drivers see if that fixes it and if not, follow the link that Paco graciously provided
AMD is kinda funny with audio
I'm having trouble where some servers show up and other servers don't. For example, EU servers 2&3 might show up but the US servers don't unless I spam refresh list and get lucky. I can sometimes bypass the trouble by joining one of my friends games to get a server that's not showing up, but if my friend isn't online I'm screwed.
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.
IF that doesn't work, follow this:
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
@fading mauve
ok, that seems to have done it for now. I'll come back if I have problems again xD Thank you
You’re very welcome 😊 Welcome back to The Isle 😉
Idk where to post this so I’m sorry if this is the wrong place but I safe logged on US 1 about 30 minutes ago and I just clicked on US 1 again and it took me back to the selection screen, I didn’t die or anything I logged and it actually logged. So did I just like lose my Dino for no reason? Can someone help explain this
Could have glitched out when logging in and when you logged in your dino actually fell a distance to the ground, happens to my rex sometimes
But if you're back at the dino selection screen, that means it died
Just a game glitch probably
Or it might not be dead, try logging out, log into a different server and log back into us1
It’s dead from a glitch I guess I tried that ^
At least I wasn’t a rex or a giga
Yeah, sorry to hear that then
I hope they fix that glitch lol that’s rly annoying
my rex on EU1 is bugged. I cant walk forward instead i'm "glitching" backwards. When I don't move everything is "normal". I can join any official and non-official server without any issues, so this only concerns EU1
And now im dying of thirst and hunger
Bite a bunch of times and it should let you move after a while
will try
Sometimes its after a few, sometimes its after 40+ bites
logged in, was dead:) respawned as a rex and it's gone. thanks for your help
You're welcome in that case lol
@rose wind go into the controls tab of your settings, select reset, and it should be Q by default.
If that doesn’t work, which probably won’t if his q isn’t working then try this;
Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
my computer is shutting down and restarting sometimes after i join a server
Sorry to hear about your issue, unfortunately that means your computer either has a virus or it’s way below the minimum requirements to play the isle
@somber fox
Do a scan and let it sit scanning for a few hours
Can you follow this gif and paste your pc specs in the meantime?
I have restarted my computer, restarted steam, validated game files, deleted the saved folder (%appdata%), even restored the saved folder. Same thing. Suggestions please?
I have also followed the help thread's advice concerning the fatal error upon start up, it has not fixed it. I am assuming I now have to redownload the entire game. Does doing so wipe every dino I have across the servers? I finally made it to full giga and would like to not have this happen.
Well, trying the delete and reinstall method then, I guess.
Your graphics driver is out of date by 3 years
And the graphics card is below the minimum requirements to play the isle, Change all of your settings to low and update every single driver on your laptop. Everything seems to be very out of date
@broken geyser
All my settings are on low for all my games, and they run alright, including the isle
How would i go about the updates? Obviously not done so before.
That’s fine, however the isle is a very demanding game and very soon you won’t be able to play the isle anymore with that graphics card. You need to update your graphics card as it hasn’t been updated since that graphics card was released which is causing the fatal error
Okay so you’d go to the amd manufacturers website and look up your cards updates
I believe amd has an autodetect software, let me grab it for you
Thank you very much!!
Go to the bottom left of the page and it'll say Auto-Detect and Install Radeon Graphics Drivers for Windows - Download now
And download that
Very much appreciated, Overpowered. Thank you! I don't know what I'd do if I could not play the Isle, it would drive me insane. Thanks again!
😄
When you open it, let it autodetect and install whatever updates it finds, then go into your Windows search bar and open up "Windows Update" and run that to find any updates for your drivers
my friend keeps bsoding from playing the isle
any way to fix this?
the performance is fine
no lag or anything
just random bsods after every hour or so
Can you follow this gif and paste their pc specs?
What is the error code for the bsod
Okie doke, that error is usually caused by his drivers being out of date, but once he grabs the specs, we'll know for sure
anyone knows how can i see servers, im just seeing empty ones or sometimes none
Try the following: Click "Steam" in the top left of your Steam library. Go to settings > ingame > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000.
You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.

@idle glade
@amber tide what does the comand base part do to the network, it refreshs it ?
Yes
tried it, but still nothgin, zero servers and rarely some emty one that i get disconnected upon joining them
@amber tide yes
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
See if that works, if it doesn't then a temporary work-around if you are unable to get server results from steam in-game, is to goto the steam client, click the view button, then servers, select the isle on the bottom left and join a server through this list built-in to steam
Let me know after you've tried both
@idle glade
tried, all i get are some empty teutonic and like 5 more emty servers, with the previous method nothgin
That means your antivirus/firewall is blocking access. Go to your av/firewall and there should be an option for setting up exclusions
You would have to setup an exclusion for the isle and the shipping.exe’s
nothing, thanks anyway, its probably the conncetion to the place, im in mexico so maybe is that
The location has no relevance to being able to find servers, we have players from all over the world playing The Isle. A program on your computer is blocking access to the game
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
@dusty wigeon
Well I’m in a server but I don’t see a Dino all I see are plants and I can hear ambience sounds but I can’t do anything
Ok now do I run the isle
Nope didn’t work
I’ll try again though
Nvm still the same
Oh well thank you for helping anyway
something is messing with your connection to the server @dusty wigeon, which is why you get kicked with this message. Try doing this below, it might help you.
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
also try adding The Isle to your anti virus/firewall exclusion list
oh just saw Overpowered already had you try the flush dns hmm
any other background application is running?
None
Do the flush again since you got into the game after the first time
Sure just to be safe
I LIVE!!!!
Thank y’all for helping!!
No problem 😉
eh I basically told him the same as you did, you take the credit sir
Yeah but we still appreciate you ^_^
Yup!
um i have a question on what to do if servers don't show up whenever i start the game
@wide prawn
do this
Nooooo he’s gonna beat me

ok thankyou i'm trying it now
umm ive restarted my isle and tried it on every number in settings on steam
Try this: Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
still nothing sighh
try adding the game in your anti virus /firewall exclusion list @wide prawn
Hello! I’m new to the game and I’m getting an error message when I start up my game saying
“The global cache shader cache file ‘C:/program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/TheIsle/Engine/GlobalShaderCache-PCD3D_SM4.bin’ is missing.
Said it was built to load COOKED content but it wasn’t found. I don’t really understand. Thanks to anyone who answers!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that means your gpu can’t load the directx version needed for the isle
Good thing I got another pc from brother ey
Yeah try using his pc and see. Unfortunately your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to play
Thank you! I’ll try it out
Sounds good, let me know how it works out
is there a dev available to help me? i am having the issue of not being able to find specific servers and i have tried everything on line.
i am in general voice
Not a dev but I'll offer you the same assistance in this channel @vale mesa, here is something you can try
No server found solution :

tried that

have not tried that
as well as adding the game to your anti virus / firewall exclusion list
those are my usual fixes for server issue but @amber tide perhaps have one more? i'm not sure
i will be right back did the flush and reset
restarting now
thanks for the advise ill let you know if it works
The flushdns should work, if it doesn’t I have some more options for you to try
Please do 😉
no luck i still cant find specific servers
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
@vale mesa
run as admin to be safe?
Yes
Always
goto the steam client, click the view button, then servers, select the isle on the bottom left and join a server through this list built-in to steam
that wroked but im not seeing servers i have dinoes on that i made with friends, i was able to get onto servers through join friend option but id like to play on those servers when they are not on.
Try changing the ping options, but if you can see servers through the steam browser that usually means a program is blocking the isle.exe
Were you able to include theisle.exe/shipping.exe as an exclusion to both your antivirus/firewall?
ill try that again
ok so i had to one uninstall my antivirus go back to just using the standard app launch as admin and the server check under steam app is showing 200 servers now, including one of the servers i played im about to check. my firewall is turned off all around
nope no luck
To just using the standard app? What do you mean by that
Try the shipping exe now
i did nothing
Something else is still blocking it, especially after saying once you uninstalled the av more servers showed up
Try the flushdns steps again real quick
i am also re installing
Reinstalling isn’t going to solve it since the steam browser can see the servers
Desktop?
Try the other NIC if so. 😉
If not desktop, try uninstall and reinstall WiFi drivers
its desktop with wifi but i am wired in
ive tried everything people have suggested. i have even went as far as to just uninstall my AVS and turned off my firewall. I cant find any servers that i have palyed on thorugh my friends and now even new servers will not respond
Through the steam browser?
yup
my only thought is its my IP provider which sounds stupid but im out of ideas
or just windows 10 being windows
not yet ill try i have to find the password again
Try getting the password and trying that
servers still do not respond
well they respond in game the like three that show up but again not the servers my friends play on
i apreciate the help buti give up
im just going to uninstall and wait for launch
erm i have extreme lag like 10 fps all the time
Can you follow this gif and paste their pc specs?

@limpid fulcrum Ask in here.
nevermind
Sounds good, hopefully you got it sorted
I think so yeah
Well, feel free to come back if it's not 😄
You can’t. You would need database access.
I forgot the solution to the shitty server list thing (just not finding specific servers), can anyone send it again?
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.

@modern spear
the first one seems to have worked, thanks!
now it takes 3 minutes to load the servers though
Does anyone know the fix to this. My game was working perfectly fine before then I just started getting this yesterday. I have tried things such as verifying the integrity and reinstalling the game, but nothing has worked. Whilst doing the opening before the menu appears, this error appears and the game crashes.
Sure

Just realised how bad my laptop is xD
Yeah lol it's way below minimum requirements and the drivers are out of date by 2 years
Oh okay
Update all of your drivers and put all of the settings to low
Yeah but unfortunately since it's under the minimum requirements, it can stop working for no reason at any point in time
Yeah, I need a new pc
that's why there's min requirements to play, but we'll try all of our available options to get you back on track to play
Thank you very much though ❤
😄
Update the drivers, put the settings to low, let me know if that fixes it.
If it doesn't, then try this
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
Okay, will do. Thanks for the help
Edit: I have decided that I am just going to wait till I get a better pc. One that actually meets the requirements xD Thanks though.
You sure? We can probably get you back on the isle
Okie doke, well if you ever have free time and want to try it, just come back 😄
Will do. Thanks

Can you follow this gif and paste their pc specs?
That error is usually from having out of date drivers, even if its something that doesnt seem it would affect it
Like windows update, graphics, sound

Steam is trying to use your integrated graphics card instead of your dedicated gpu
it was working fine for the past 3-4 months until now
i didnt even know i had a dedicated gpu, and since that guide's for nvidia i dont exactly know what to do
What’s your main gpu
Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500
that's the integrated graphics card
almost every computer nowadays has one, give me a sec
Open the "Run" dialog box from the start menu and type in dxdiag
then click on the display tab and it'll show you
rip
yeah lol
You might not be able to play anymore then, but we'll try our hardest to get you back on
Open up Windows Update and do an update for every driver
@amber tide it worked, it's running now :)
Yay! Welcome back!
hey. i try to play progression and all i get is this but other modes run fine.. thoughts?
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
@willow herald
giving it a go
Any luck?
progression is broken and won't work
nayh it didn't work
Might just be what grievous said, I’ve never tried to join a progression server
Hy, I have a problem with the game,
I'm stuck on the loading screen, it doesn't load, the menu very slowly appears and has a super lag.
Nothing happens, no answer to clicking, only if I alt+tab.
Could you help me?

Have you tried going into the game properties and verifying the game integrity? There may be some corrupt files that need to be redownloaded
@honest river
yes, im already reinstall the game 3 times
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.

What is exactly happening?
so he starts the game
it runs perfectly
untill he is on the main screen where he chooses play etc
but he cant find any servers because the game says " your pc doesnt meet the requirements to play"
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
if that doesn't work then you can try this
Try this: Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Done, but not work for me :\ @amber tide
You did both steps from the time I pasted them?
yes, exactly 😃
You couldn't have done both steps in 2 minutes
We just did both and none worked
Open File Explorer from the taskbar. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK. Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder. At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder. <- This steps is done.
does this work?
nope 😄
@amber tide we did it twice to see if we wrote wrong but it didnt work again.
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
@autumn zenith
@honest river
i have to wait for my friend ill update asap
That didnt work eather
Maybe he's not meeting the requirements arent same but idk i checked it seemed like he had what it needs, im not an expert so check if you havent
Hmm, give me a few to look into some things
still not working for me :\
Have you ever been able to play the isle @honest river ?

@autumn zenith How old is the computer? It looks like he bought a old computer and put in a semi new graphics card into it
@honest river You're well below the minimum requirements to play the game, that's why your computer is having a hard time opening the isle, I've tried different options to try to get it to run but your computer is almost 5 years old
I'll continue to try to find options for you Dani93, but I can't promise anything, your best bet would be to request a refund through steam
If @neat thorn @pale pike have any ideas, we'd love your wisdom 😉
The i5-6500 and the graphics card were released in 2015
oh, i see 😄
@amber tide he said his pc is 2 years old
My Config:
CPU Brand: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Driver: AMD Radeon (TM) R9 380 Series
Is there a known issue w/ AMD chipset and getting stuck on dino customization on server connect?
Nothing helps, its just my friends PC that doesn't meet the requirements, anyways i really appreciate the help i got from everybody really fast replies and yeah thanks!
@storm sun Try following this link for the freezes
@autumn zenith Can you tell him to maybe unplug his headset real quick and try it again
sure
brb
im sorry try just playing the game or doing the steps you told me to do ?
Just telling him to unplug his headset, and also tell him to redo these steps:
He tried the shipping.exe correct?
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Redo that step after unplugging
by reboot you mean restart right?
Correct
ill update when hes done with his game :3
Sounds good, I'm gonna keep researching different things
He just did it and that didnt work aswell
Overpowered, is there a chance to talk about something
is it possible that he cant run the game because he has steam and all his games on his c instead of his main disc ?
It’s definitely something to try at this point
could you help out how does he move the game does he just cut it and paste in his main disc ?
He can try that but he’ll most likely have to uninstall the isle and reinstall it
I’ve never tried cutting and pasting to different directories, it’s usually all reinstalls
he juset reinstalled it
Did that fix it? @autumn zenith
let us know your system specification @tawdry fractal , follow this and copy and paste the results here
It usually indicates that your GPU doesn't support directx11 iirc.

I do have a PC but its currently at my grandparents and I moved out and cant get them to allow me to have it for some reason so I'm stuck using an awful laptop
Yeah sorry unfortunately that pc is way under the minimum so you wouldn’t be able to play without a new pc, sorry again
It's alright thank you anyways have a good day ☺
We hope you do too!
Hi I have a stupid question.... Me and my friend play together in the same room because we're IRL friends, and sometimes she hears sounds ingame that I don't hear... but I am right next to her.. any reasons why? Like we'll be nesting together and she hears a roar on her screen and I don;t hear it threw my screen.. just curioussss
It's just one of those random things that occurs from time to time
The sound is also kind of spotty with amd processors
Its just weird because my computer is better than hers
I'm having a bit of a problem
everytime i start the isle i get a fatal error and it closes
i've reinstalled and i have validated the files
don't know what happened as I have played it just fine a couple of days ago
also i have no mods installed
let us know your system specifications, follow this and copy and paste the results here
@shy arrow
I got it to work after I reset the winsock (winstock??) And restarted the comp
Okay cool
i know that if i logg out and relogg in this would be fixed but still wanted to inform the devs about this.
the grass seems to be floating...
moreover i logged in again and the glitche remained
glitch*
so maybe its the servers fault
im on isla nycta 1
that is just the map being buggy afaik, it is not just on one specific server
also this would probably belong in #401465476661641217
so i was on here before with an issue of servers not responding from the steam app server veiwer and i could not search for servers in game, i have found that if the game is open they will not respond from the viewer but if the game is not launched and you join the server then it will launch the game and place you into the server. hope this helps people in the future with the same issues
well the isle is back to giving me a fatal error again
here are my steam specifications

Your drivers are out of date and that graphics card is grossly under the minimum requirements
@shy arrow
Update all of your computers drivers, restart the computer and open the isle
i'll give it a try
and thanks
(my graphics card has ran it fine so far, the crashed just started yesterday and i have over 400 hours on the game)
yeah unfortunately the game is always evolving, and whenever something is under the minimum requirements, it can stop working at any time for no reason at all. But update everything and try it again.
If that doesn't work after updating then use this exe:
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
now i got this error
From the shipping.exe?
Yup
What happened with the regular exe?
both gave me this error
When you updated the driver, did you update all of your computer drivers as well?
yes
On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, to start the Run box.
2) Type dxdiag and click OK.
3) You can see the DirectX Version under the System tab, What's the version you have downloaded
Did you restart your computer after updating everything?
yes
Okay, go back to the dxdiag but this time go into the Display tab
And on the right side it should say Drivers with all of the information under it.
What does the Feature Levels: say?
Okay so essentially what we've done was updated the system to give us an actual error, the problem is that with the integrated graphics driver, it doesn't support feature level 10, or it would have popped up in that spot, and that's why it's just kind of randomly stopped
Go to your desktop, and right click and screenshot the options that pop up
rip, alright we're gonna try one last thing that might save it I hope!
Go to this website and install the AMD autodetect, it will automatically detect what you need that's missing and let you install them
From the newest pc specs update you posted, the driver wasn't updated, so either the update didn't stick, it was a wrong update, or the driver itself just hasn't had any updates released
ofc this happens lol
i find the one thing that cures my depression and sink 400 hours into it and then it is ripped from me
I'll give that a try, thank you so much for your patience and help
No problem, that's what I'm here for.
I just helped someone with the same issue through private messages, minus the feature level 10 bit, and he updated everything and it worked after. SO fingers crossed for you 😉
so bizarre
i go one day without playing it and play another game and it seems like it got jealous and decides not to work lol
lol
well i tried that, reupdated the drivers and restarted the comp
I got hopeful as it let me log into a server
annd... then fatal error again
Use the shipping.exe now
fatal error
Yeah, i'm sorry I'm all out of options at this point besides grabbing a dedicated gpu, since integrated doesn't really work with the game
Maybe @neat thorn or @pale pike have other suggestions
i'm trying a clean install right now to see if that works
if they have any options i'll take them
Sure, keep us updated on how that goes
I have problems with finding servers. I had to set the max pings per minute down to 250 to find the servers I wanted, but then it took 3-6 minutes to load the servers and now, a day later, it doesn't work at all again. I also tried the /flushdns and netsh winsock reset, which seemed to help at first but after I got back to the main menu because the server was full I couldn't find it again
Interesting.. use this exe:
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
it found the server there
weird, sounds like a program is somewhat interrupting the original exe
hm
Make a shortcut to the shipping exe on the desktop and use that to load
You're welcome 😄
So i logged back in and i'm unable to attack. I haven't changed any settings since i logged 7 hours ago. My mouse is completely fine and working only when i press esc in the game or on the game's start screen
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder
@amber tide
Got it to work! Turns out it fatal errors if I have discord and the isle running at the same time. Weird.
That's a very weird thing to trigger it, but i'm glad you got it and wrote back to us! Thank you! I'll keep it in my back pocket for anyone with the same issue!
????
let us know your system specifications, follow this and copy and paste the results here
@stiff willow
hey @amber tide good news
?
so i was on here before getting help and i figured out a fix for my issue
launch a server from the steam server viewer while the game is not launched and it should launch the game and place you into a server
also i had to open a port on the router
Yeah we went over the steam browser thing
yup so i think the firewall on the router was what was blocking the game to a point
hopefully that little work around will help people who may have the same issues as me
try and do this @vague oyster
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
Ok trying now
And I was around in the DOS days, the command prompt feels like home lol
👍
It worked thank you so much!
Welcome back to jurrasic..... The Isle.. I meant the isle
My right click for the dryo isnt working to make a burrow. All i did was edit the controller, and now it doesnt work. How can i check the controls/config for keyboard & mouse?
@idle swift, make sure that you're in a area where a burrow can be made, this can be determined if the a message has been sent saying "burrow cannot be made", I've had similar problems when placing things like nests too- and I've solved it by using the attack button
@idle swift you can reset your keybind by follow this :
Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
If you just want to manually edit the file it should be somewhere in the WindowNoEditors folder
Ye- you can check/change the controls you have set for it in the settings panel
there is no option to change burrowing in the settings. imma try what el paco said.
Alrighty- good luck!
When burrowing I've always held right click, instead of just clicking it-
same
Not sure if that's effecting your ability to place a burrow- if what El Paco suggested didn't work, try that
yeah thats what i ment
@pale pike if i delete saved folder, will that delete any saved dino
No, only your settings
ok
dinos are saved on the server, not on your computer
Ok, will try tomorrow, thx everyone!
Hope you fix your problem!
hi, i have a big problem. i can´t sniff in the game. i try really all to fix it, but the function don´t exists in my game settings. i had new installed, i have deleted some datas, but nothing happend. i tryed manuell updated on steam - nothing works.
type %localappdata% in your task bar search box and press enter.
scroll down to the isle, open it and delete the "saved" folder.
@cold parcel
omg thank you! i tryed the same, but it doesnt works. i think was the wrong folder. now it works! ❤
have fun sniffing around
whenever i got to play the isle it says i need a uncooked version idk wat that means and wat to do about it
Means your graffics card isn't supported I believe
@radiant quail
your gpu can’t load the directx version needed for the isle, cause your computer doesn't meet minimum requirements
ok
Hello
I wanted to buy the Isle on steam but it kept saying my info was incorrect when with the same info I was able to buy a lot of stuff on Amazon
And I have over 5k on it
I think that’s a question for steam or your credit card company
@kind rover thanks
I can't find the offical servers... neighter the US nor the EU ones.
I tried to search without any filterchecks on the right but nothing worked... I see other server though... any idea what happened... I played 2 hours ago... and everything was fine.
@gleaming rain
@amber tide both didn't work... :/
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
@gleaming rain
A temporary work-around if you are unable to get server results from steam in-game, is to goto the steam client, click the view button, then servers, select the isle on the bottom left and join a server through this list built-in to steam
@gleaming rain try just having the official box checked off, press refresh a few times, because it's random on which server may show up, mines finicky with finding servers, so I have to press refresh quite a few times
Oop, whoever I accidentally pinged, I'm sorry 😂
@amber tide Thx I could join the Server via Steam
Alright that’s great! so that’s a temporary fix, it usually is blocked from an antivirus or a firewall blocking access or it could be that your ports aren’t opened
But the steam browser will work fine for you 😃
Does anyone know how to setup a nitrado server because that's the provider I chose and i can't make anyone including my self an admin
Check the #server-hosting tab
i tried no ones responding
Unfortunately that means you would have to wait for someone who knows how to do it responds in that tab. This section is for issues with the game, not for hosting. I wish I could help, I'll try looking around for you in the mean time though
ok thx
@amber tide
sorry to both again
more specifics on what was causing my game to crash and why discord was doing it
it was the game overlay
I looked it up and apparently it doesn't work well with some games
Sounds good, thank you again for checking back in with this!
ofc! I wanted to provide insight in case it happens to someone else as it was a very frustrating situation lol
any one has that bug when you walk fowards and telleports you back?
@remote schooner, it might be your ping, if you have over 500 ping (for me) I get really laggy, and teleport everywhere
If you have that bug, it’s either lag or if you continuously spam the bite button it’ll get rid of it
@remote schooner
Hello everyone, I am in the US isle server in game, and my friends are having trouble nesting as carno, is there any tips aside from, being around a river and full of food around?
We tried biting and try to nesting it didn't work
@toxic idol are you in an area that is nestable
Oh, is there an area that allows only to nest? I didn't know that
It would tell him if it wasn't nestable..
There's spots on the ground that isn't nestable, and he didn't tell us if the message was sent or not
Do I send the screenshot of the coordinates?
because I do not know where we are, still new
When you hit B does it give you a message at the bottom left saying you can't nest here
No
Then follow my above instructions
No
Currently my friend is following the instructions
It worked! Thank you!
You’re welcome 😉
@amber tide hey, remember my fatal error thing? well, the windows updating did work, but only for a shortwhile. it gives me the error once again. any other solutions you may have?

might be the latest available for 5500s?
agian i have the same bug
and my ping is fine
keep teleporting backwards
when i walk forward
Bite randomly 20+ times @remote schooner
@pale pike could be honestly, it's an integrated graphics driver which isn't supported by the isle, but the crazy part is that it's allowed him to play and then randomly stopped
i have no idea how to update my graphics driver
but yeah. it worked completely fine, ran smoothly with low fps but that's expected and it was pretty much playable
dunno why its suddenly stopped now
@amber tide thanks for the info i will try that next time
👍
@ruby vale I honestly don't know why it worked for you after and why it stopped, it's not meant to even run anyway so it's been a little bit of a miracle.
its fine anyway, thanks for the help
i just need to get a new psu for my pc and i'll be able to play again
I get this message every time I try to join any server?
Open an Administrator level command prompt by typing in "CMD" on your windows search through your computer.
Right click CMD - Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
Type netsh winsock reset then hit enter
Reboot your computer and open up The Isle
@random turtle
this should help you out
alright, thx!
"The Global Shader Cache 'C:/Program File (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/TheIsle/Engine/GlobalShaderCache-PCD3D_SM4.bin' is missing"
what do i do?
decided to be intelligent and took a screenshot of it.
what is your graphic card? it usually means your GPU doesn't support the required directx version @shadow talon
