That sounds like it didn't get downloaded correctly or was possibly deleted by your security software (if it mistook the file for a virus).
If you browse your local files for the game you can verify whether TheIsle.exe is there or not.

To do so go in your Steam library . Right click The Isle > Properties.

@delicate canyon then I'd suggest adding steam in your anti virus exclusion list, then uninstall the isle through steam. Once the uninstall is done, type %localappdata% in your taskbar search box and press enter. Scroll down to The Isle and delete it.
Install the game again and once done add the isle executable to the exclusion list also.

The problem started after I switched back from the Develpoment branch this morning. Anytime I join a server It kicks me with the message "host closed the connection" I've tird this with 5 different servers and I got kicked from each one.
I tried verifying the game files to see if the problem was there and It didnt fix it.
I tired Re-installing the game and the problem still peristed.
I check My firewall settings to see if anything changed but nothing.
I did notice anytime i interacted with the isle in any way through steam though steam would but out and almost crash. I went to clear the download cache to see if that hlped with re-installing a second time and it said that my client was not functioning properly, so it re-installed steam.
Im re-installing the game again to see if that fixes it but if anybody can give me a hand it would be greatly appreciated.

@lyric atlas you're most likely trying to join a server on the dev branch. To get on the dev branch, go into your Steam library, Right click The Isle > Properties. Now go in the BETA tab and on the dropdown menu select "development branch", close the window and let your game upgrade!

I've heard that there are ways you should be able to use Bootcamp I think it's called to simulate windows and play the game from there, but I've not looked into that as extinsively as some others around here

if anybody is in here, I need a little help. I'm new to the game and I'm not sure whether this is a steam issue or the game. I try to connect to a server and it says that I'm outdated and I need to restart steam. I've done that a couple times and no change. The kicker is not but an hour or two ago I was playing online without a single issue and there hasn't been an update in that period. So a little help would be appreciated
the steam client does this strange 3 minute validation thing and nothing gets fixed and it doesn't write any data...

So I've been using ReShade to give the game more saturation as, while I haven't been diagnosed with color blindness, I have a very hard time discerning some colors when they're put against something similar. So it's difficult for me to tell if, say, an allo is male or female. Rex is also difficult for me in that case. But going over the #519931024956850187 I saw that people were using the program to abuse the nightvision and cheat, more or less. I went about removing the ReShade files from the game because of this, as I do not want to be seen as a cheater/rulebreaker/what-have-you. After removing it, I noticed my game is ungodly bright during the day to the point I'm unable to see anything unless surrounded by trees. I'm literally blinded by light. I tried verifying my files, and even reinstalling to no avail. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Also, I'm inclined to say ReShade (so long as you aren't using those exploity toggles) is fine for time being and if it ever gets banned, I think it'll just be a file block like it was before. It won't let you start the game until you get rid of the ReShade, which is easy deletion.

@honest river okay so you should add theisle.exe in your firewall/antivirus exclusion list, which can be found in *Program files/Steam/Steamapps/common/TheIsle.
Once the game has been added in your exclusion You should then perform these step :
Open the command prompt as an administrator and running the following commands:
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns
Then reboot your pc and try playing on a server.
No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle. @rocky creek

Hello. I've been having trouble downloading the new update for the isles. I would open up the game and try to join a server, it would then say that I had an outdated client. I have the game set on update immediately so I found it strange. I tried updating but nothing worked so I re-installed the game again. The game installed and it started to download the new updates but its stopped. It won't download it anymore. I've tried restarting steam but nothing worked. Please help me, this game is so much fun and it would be a shame if I'm not able to play it again.

Judging from your spec I would say both your cpu and gpu are lacking a bit in strength to properly run The Isle, Unless your 1050 is a "Ti" then it should handle it.

I think the game may be trying to use your integrated video card. If you go in your Nvidia control panel, under 3d graphic setting you should find a dropdown menu that will allow you to give priority to your 1070

Just got a new monitor, but now the Isle won't go to a custom windowed resolution. It forces it to go windowed or fullscreen windowed, with the resolution settings blanked out:

Going through all the pinned messages and forums and i still cant find the Dev servers on the list. no matter how many times i refresh. Ive got the updated game, verified file integrity, even uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. I get a ton of chinese server options or FLUFFY DINOS/BORK!!! servers but none of the offical dev servers to play on

Does anybody have a fix for this? It pops out and prevents me from joining seemingly random servers I find on the server list. I did scroll up in this channel to see if anybody had the same problem, but the fix provided (switching to dev branch in the settings, basically) did not work for me. My friend has the same issue and he can also join only random servers. Help, please?

How do you get the game to recognize/use the Nvidia GPU instead of the Nvidia processor? It defaults to "intregrated", but will only allow me to choose Nvidia processor after that. All my other games default to GPU.
Now that I've gotten into the game, it keeps saying "outdated client" and to update game via Steam and try again. My game just finished updating via Steam, so idk what more to do at this point.

netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns
Then reboot your pc and test the server browser again.

Good evening.
So I've had this problem for a while... uh. I live in these dorms for where I work, right? I use to pay for on site wifi service, but I moved in with a friend who's my roommate, and we decided to switch internet providers.
Ever since I've done this, I'll look at the serve list and find that the whole thing is filled with servers that have 250 ping to over 1000 ping. That wouldn't be too bad, if it wasn't for all the servers that I would be able to play on are gone. The dev servers, isla nycta, all the other ones I would play on are gone. I know I'm running the correct version of the game, and I know I can still connect to these servers because, sometimes when I try connecting to my friends in steam (this works 25% of the time) it'll put me through. But the servers just won't show up.
And I know it's the wifi because I'm using the other service provider before my subscription for that runs out, and that one let's me play fine.
I'm not very tech savvy at all. I just want to play the Isle with my friends, and possibly fix this before the new update. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Good morning! So I am having trouble getting onto a server. Every time I click 'Confirm' it tells me the game is 'Out of Date and to close Steam and Update the game', however, I have done that three times now and still cannot move forward. I was informed to go into the game's properties and select the 'Beta' tab in which I should be able to choose from the drop down options, however, I cannot click on the drop down. So, I don't know if this is a troubleshooting problem or not or if it can even be fixed but my connection appears to be limited to what servers it can spot. I can only seem to see servers with over 200 ping (Im from the US) and I can never get any of the dev servers to show. Don't know why this is happening but I'm hoping I can get some help.

The GPU or graphics processor unit is the bit that actually generates the 3D graphics you see in-game.
You basically don't have one, so you'll never be able to successfully run it without that.

If you buy one, you need to make sure that it has a passable GPU. You'll probably have to spend about $800 to get an entry level machine

add theisle.exe in your firewall/antivirus exclusion list, which can be found in Program files/Steam/Steamapps/common/TheIsle.
Once the game has been added in your exclusion You should then perform these step :

I'm having issues getting the in game recording to work. I have auto record checked and recording indicator checked but it's not recording. Is there a setting in steam that might be causing this?

Recording is supposed to be disabled by default, if you're able to that may be a bug in itself

Dev servers should have it disabled. Tag server admins on the server's channel and they can spectate your area for rule breakers

I have "No servers found" even after reinstalling. It started today after a server crash in dev 2. I can access the game servers half of the time through steam. Is there a way to fix this?

At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle. @weary sentinel

Have you considered that it could be steam itself then. Like, something wrong with the software, or a bad connection?
Or, are you sure that all the server search tags are properly set? Like you dont have something like the official one checked

none of them are checked, I made sure to do that first
also, when I try to join a server through steam it keeps putting me in a server that I didn't select. Like I just tried to join Devil's Monarchy just to be on a familiar sanbox server, and it sent me to a random realism survival server. I have the DV TestLevel as a filter, so it shouldn't have put me on thenyaw at all.

You could try reinstalling steam, but I would try a complete reinstall of the isle again first. By that I mean deleting everything and then everything out of I think the appdata folder. Anything containing the isle and then reinstalling. After that i would try to reinstall steam. Also, just a side thought, how's the weather around there?

Yeah. The joining a random server bit is weird but the fact that you can join half the time to me just sounds like connectivity problems
I used to have a terribly connection. Like literally unable to do much if anything online, and the isle was the most unresponsive, but I could still do normal browsing and such seemingly like normal. The isle however just wouldn't show me any servers

A while back I had issues with my game not properly loading in servers. Since theres been a few updates since then, I wanted to reverse the fix I was shown, but I don't quite remember what it was.
Basically, i went into some steam setting or whatever and changed a number, and it made my game load WAY slower. i wanted to set it back because its almost too slow now x.x

Well, I did that little command prompt you posted. Didn’t work. I’ve tried joining off a friend... sent me to another server. Tried joining through the servers listing. Didn’t work. Lowered my server count to 250. Didn’t work. Changed it to every server count, still didn’t work.

So I’ve been having this problem with the isle a lot lately. It started out with me just being unable to switch back over to the dev branch, but now I can’t play the Isle at all. It’s not following through with any of the updates because I don’t “have enough disk space”? I’m not so sure what that means or how to fix it. Figured this would go here? I have crash logs but cant seem to figure out why our server is crashing. It has been happening since before todays update so while that may have exacerbated the issue I do not currently believe that is it? Or is it just the game being unstable due to early access? @pale pike This is a bit late, but that message means that there isn't enough space on your computer's hard drive. Go into your file explorer and see how much free space you have on your C: drive or if you have multiple drives

I have yet to see anyone post about these issues, Im wondering if its an issue on my side or others have had this but haven't posted. This issue has started up after the 0.1.52.2 Patch. Its as if i'm in another dimension, I spawn in and all the issues occur I listed below, I can hear dinos roar but I can't see anyone. My friend was right next to me last night and I couldn't see him but I heard him. I can type in chat and see what others are saying but they cant see my messages. It's really strange. I’ve been having Kernell issues with Windows as well as Memory issues so i'm not sure if those things triggered this but it happened in the recent patch. I found this ONLY occurs on V3
Issues I have ran into
- Respawn does not work on sandbox.
- I spawn in or under that map while my creature is invisible.
- F1 doesn't seem to want to work to accept a group invite.
- Various keys seem temperamental and i’ll have to restart the game completely to get keys working (For EX: Q, Shift, 1-4 calls, and H are key’s I've had issues with.)
- Various creatures I play (After relogging to spawn as them properly) seem to have infinite stamina and OR Food/Water.
- Spawning in invisible/ other players being invisible around despite clearly hearing them roar in your face. (What has made my dino appear is hitting the ESC button to pop up the Log menu)
- When I spawn in after I die im greeted with a bloody screen and my dino that I have picked is not there.
I have tried Validating my files and deleting my saved folder and neither of those fixed the issues, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a simple fix on my side before I reported this.

Hi, what are the problems with the servers. why the servers is abruptly blacklisted? i’m agree with @manic pendant you need to do something to safe the game !!

Servers that are blacklisted have violated the The Isle's EULA, which can be found here: https://store.steampowered.com/eula/376210_eula_0

my friend did say that I have to fix my isle client
whatever that means or consists so anyone know how to supposedly fix it?

Not sure what to do then, I suggest to try another server if you really want to play. Which is unfortunate, but until the devs manage to pinpoint why this happens, or anyone else, there's not much we can do

It didn't give me any issues when joining the server, perhaps your antivirus or firewall is messing with your connection to it?

I play in windowed mode. When swinging my camera around, my mouse sometimes goes right to the edge of the window. If I happen to be clicking, it begins to drag the aspect ratio of my game. My game freezes until the mouse is released and adjusts; but this never used to happened in previous builds of the game. Any way to prevent this? I have a large monitor and always prefer to play windowed with games, so fullscreen is not an option for me.

Might be that something changed in those 5 days that put a flag up in your firewall

It wasn't an entire reinstall I don't think. @orchid jay although that would might help, just make sure to back up the player database

We will ask the hosting service to reset the config first and see if that helps. If not we will try a full reinstall of allt hree servers

I have switched to legacy as dev doesn't exist right now. i have un installed and re-installed the isle, and i have even un-installed and re-installed STEAM. i am about to restart my computer. if ANYONE knows how to fix this, I would be eternally grateful. the last couple times i s=have sent a screenshot with this problem i have gotten no reply, and it brings me down. i just want to play the isle again.

Hey there, lately ive been physically unable to play the isle for atleast 2 or more months. When i try to find servers, none show up, and i've tried basically everything known to man including setting my ping to different settings on steam, to using command prompt commands, and validating files/uninstalling and re-adding the isle, to try and fix this. I have even had professional help to try and fix it and have failed completely. Would there be ANY way to fix this or and i somehow fucked?
