there aren't any good resources on Norse myth and basically anything else pagan related

because abrahamic religions triumphed
and things like Norse paganism were tainted with Christianity due to Scandinavian monks being the only scholars

I suppose there could be many potential answers though, definitely, for Gen1s
Realistically, do Gen1s need some sort of advanced and complex brain function?

... are their trials and/or tests earlier on of AE testing 'it' out?
Is there some sort of linear-esque line of progression for Gen1s then? A clear (ish) line of development that shows AEs progression towards their original / augmented goal for them

Most of the time it’s been bounced around. However this is a small island where anything can be trapped. If it’s frequently going off constantly it would change something inside the creatures in the area of broadcast. Kinda like x rays. Just prolonged exposure overtime isnt good

we have sustainable evidence that they cannot damage DNA like x rays can
which is good for us

however, there are radar systems that will either cause internal heating or surface burns

Stuff like mutagenic chemicals

Radiation is interesting in that it can affect the whole body, whereas a mutagenic compound would have to be carried around the body by the bloodstream to have a similar effect

I think more commonly accidental exposure would be on the skin, and would cause mutation in that affected area

But in either case it would be random mutations, often problematic or deleterious

The biggest problem with the idea of a lore hunt

Is that they can be as unknowable as Dondi likes
or as officially announced, as he likes
as obvious, as unobvious
and the list goes on

What counts as something in-game that Dondi actually means to be 'hunted' as if a Scavenger Hunt (Lore Hunt)?
and what does not...
Both from the in-game and the media/content that has been shared with us

Of course, this comes to the assumption that Dondi still wants to have these types of lore 'finding'

||of course, a part of me hopes he could read this and answer. But... yeah. Maybe. I just really hope he found the original lore hunt a success and can build on from that. Especially that but make it even better. Heck, even using the terminal (but more finished)||

Yeah so my suspicion might be right. I think if you lose your Dino, you log out, then if you log back in later after server restart u get ur Dino back

The biggest dilemma I think we have as lore people is this

On one hand, we could get bits of lore every year, or every half-year.
But by the second or third year — sometimes even after just one year — contradictions start appearing,
because the game is always being updated and changing due to being in early access

On the other hand, if you choose the opposite approach and wait until everything is finished before getting lore
it means a lot of waiting and basically getting nothing for a long time

It feels strange thinking about where we are now.
It feels like we’re leaning more toward that second option
but at the same time, it just takes so long to get anything at all.

It’s a big dilemma.
Part of me honestly thinks I’d rather wait until the very end, once everything is finished, so we can have finalised lore that’s properly done, with no contradictions, and without having to worry about the map or systems changing afterwards.

Alright, so starting from the replicator.

As far as we know and can see, the replicator still exists
Its origins are unclear
It was probably created by Apollo Engineering, but it’s also possible that Apollo acquired it ... somehow ... rather than inventing it themselves.
One idea (of course, we have nothing on its background so...) could be that it came from another company that went bankrupt
... or that Apollo merged with it and effectively absorbed that company along with the replicator
But, let's be honest and at this point, we genuinely have no idea! yay

However, in terms of hard lore about it
There is almost nothing concrete about the replicator beyond the replication process itself, and even that information is extremely minimal.
What we do know is that it has a physical body, multiple subsystems, and there is official artwork (we don't know what it looks like. We just know that it exists) showing it in an unknown location that does not appear to be Gateway.
Because of this, we assume the system is massive, but we have no idea how massive or widespread
or how it may connect to other islands

We also don’t know how intelligent it is!
It could be something approaching true AGI, or it could be closer to a weaker AI — something more like an advanced but rigid system that simply follows its programming
If we compare it to something modern, it could be closer to an ANI/LLM-style intelligence, rather than a fully self-aware entity
Because of that, the idea that the replicator “went berserk” might not actually be accurate.
It may be likely that it continued executing its programming, even after Apollo Engineering lost the ability to physically control or utilise it
In that scenario, Apollo didn’t lose control because the replicator rebelled — Apollo lost control because everything else around it collapsed

But with companies...
We know Apollo Engineering had multiple rivals, not just a single opposing company (In old lore, that being Phoenix International, which no longer exists)
There were other corporations involved, along with foreign interests and political pressure, especially surrounding the ethics of creating dinosaurs, humans, and other organisms
Apollo wasn’t just fighting one enemy — it was surrounded by corporate and political conflict

Regarding the “monster” aspect you mentioned: if you’re referring to strains, we do know that Apollo Engineering created them
What we don’t know is why...?
We do know Apollo was developing megaflora as a bit for a climate change solution, and that a leak of the thing being fed to the flora, turning it into megaflora, enabled giant crabs
This may or may not be related to the beginning of strains or hyperendocrins; again, it’s unclear... sadly

As for people being trapped in monster bodies, that doesn’t really connect to the replicator by itself. Not truly.
That concept ties more closely to EIPs — Embryo Intelligence Profiles.
If you’ve heard of the 1000 Life Contract, that’s essentially what this relates to.
Unfortunately, lore on EIP is practically non-existent, and we have basically no idea how EIPs work. Besides, mainly the TOMB (which is a subsystem of The Replicator)
And also a music track and a few legacy references
However, while much of the older content may no longer be directly usable, the ideas behind it still seem relevant.

That’s essentially the current state of what we know based on existing lore
