okay im thinking im having some stuff in mind that seem unchhangable but are actually wrong which makes me not understand wth you are saying

arent hypers having insanely high metabolism? so that keeps them "constantly starving" because well there isnt big enough food and even if there is they would need to eat very often

LOOKING at the avg size of a Hyper would be quite big

Dying after a few days of not eating is critically low for a carnivore
Many of them can last weeks or even months without food (albeit they suffer from starvation pretty quickly)

Especially something the size of hyper rex
Larger animals can usually survive for longer without food

which we don't really know with Isle Dinos

Isle Dinos starve pretty quickly
especially if you exaggerate the 'whole day' into actual 24 hours
they don't survive for very long by default

but yeah, crocs can live for quite some time without food
but that is thanks to their natural very slow metabolism

i suppose it is kinda hard to give a contemporary example that would best fit Dinos
of course, I can't say I know metabolism for Dinosaurs

what would be the best example to compare? Birds? Crocs? Other sizeable animals like elephants?

but if Hypers are only carnivores
I would imagine, then, that they would naturally need a slower metabolism (forgetting how diets work in The Isle because... the pain they bring to realism...)
Which would certainly make 'days' a bit unimpressive.

Isle's lore has always intrigued me

for me, at least, it feels like a (very) alternative Jurassic Park that really tickles something in the brain for me
something that the original books do as well — HORROR but actually more realistic (not in regards to science though) that ALSO can be used to critique and/or showcase human ideologies in action PLUS GREEK MYTHOS REFERENCES (and some minor other religion stuff!!)

it is just COOL.
Games (and media in general) that play around with actual human-ly ideas that revolve around core or abstract but relevant ideas of philosophy, religion/faith, humanity (amongst other things) often just really work most times out of 10.

Currently at Water Access, we don't truly know
But, there is currently (hidden within it) a DTA
i.e. Dinosaur Transportation Area
So maybe some sort of semi-aquatic holding facility?
only thing is, the gated pool area isn't very effective for semi-aquatics (in terms of safety regulations - open ladders that could allow any personnel to be snatched right up)
potentially, the actual lake itself contains aquatics and/or semi-aquatics
where the gated area might be for machinery being submerged (Water Access' pool being gated, as a), then set out
Although, could you definitely make up several theories on it
But the DTA is, at least for me, definitely a sign of what it might be

Maybe im overthinking now but what if theres a lore explanation as to why the dinos tend to have a variety of patterns, mainly given the fact the irl animals dont tend to vary in patterns alot

very overthinking, animals patterns vary a lot depending on the habitat, evolution favours stuff that follows random patterns like plants and the sort, like tigers coats or zebras

and stuff like region affects coat colour

loads of examples but depending on the region an animal is in it will favour certain colors and patterns

so they can change wildly even if they are the same species

The 'relocation' bit is definitely very interesting
IF anything, I kinda of imagine it as something like what working on the Shrek movie was:

that being, workers who had failed their projects would be sent to work on Shrek.
Of course, Shrek (at the time) was the low-budget boondoggle that would likely never succeed
Where Tartarus seems like something more core and important to Apollo Engineering. However, I don't think this changes the fact that working for either would be a lot more painful.

We know that basically all employees are under expatriation — "when you're in, you're in" (from Dondi)
So it is kinda useless to not use all your employees at all times (they have no where else to go for some time under their contract, technically), even if they've broken some rules.

The updates can slow for a year or two then once it’s ported you’ll have double the funding to pay others to help get updates out faster or you can do it actively during the port which is probably better tbh.

I will say in terms of game development The Isle's code is quite vast and would require large recodes and optimizations just to meet the standards for console. Not only would it bring forth additional work, it would add issues that normally would not be there on the Windows version we have. Porting a game varies from game to game. It would've been much easier back when evrima was released or started development to do any backport. As of now there's too much at play inside the code for it to be worth doing any of that.

Realistically speaking the game just isn't coded like some AAA game on top of the already designed mechanics that fit to the style of PC players.
