Could we have a buy/sell forum?

For people to trade hardware and stuff

theres the problem of buyer/seller protection and conflict resolution, which can be really resource consuming for the already somewhat saturated mods team

and if we just dont have protections, why would anyone do it from here instead of ebay where a bunch of things are handled by the platform?

Scenario 1: direct in person selling, someone gets scammed, what are the mods meant to do to verify who is in the right or wrong?

Scenario 2:
Selling via ebay or other postal selling, someone gets scammed or doxxed, how are the mods meant to safeguard against that?

Scenario 3: someone gets abducted! ERM...

Scenario 4: someone starts making claims on the server that someone scammed them...

This just looks a) like a lot of overhead and b) like a disaster waiting to happen.

I thought if it would be local (like you go in -> check items and pay) then what could possibility go wrong

plus platforms made for private sales already exist with variouus ways to deal with these problems. its not gonna be beneficial or anything for us to attempt to reimplement this inside discord

There's a risk with Craigslist but it's a fantastic platform and I feel it'd be similar with a buy/sell thing here
