I have tried re-inserting and restarting my PC

When you update the kernel usually it'll stop detecting newly insered usb drives untill you reboot, but... since you did try a reboot that cant be the cause. flonk

Does lsblk or looking into /dev/ or anything detects the key?

Hmm Im assuming its nit showing up in dev either.

Sadly I dont know how to debug this if the whole machine (even after reboot) cant see the USB drive.
