hey people, quick question
my laptop has a 60.87 wh battery, which isn't a small battery per say but due to my i7-14700HX and my rtx 5060 laptop gpu
it doesn't last an hour browsing firefox, i turned on integrated graphics and it added like 20 minutes, then i thought about undervolting just to find out it's bios locked, which is dissapointing because that was my best option
and before you say it neeeeed the laptop to last a good while while i'm outside and not plugged in because i'm studyingg computer engineering which requires a good bit of laptop in college
any help on what to do?

windows, right?
perhaps there are tips specific to your laptop online--you could search that up
it would be odd if the oem os drained battery and nobody complained about it until just now
i've been a linux user for like 3 years but it came with windows and i need some apps for school that i haven't gotten to installing on linux yet so i just use windows for now
but ihave fedora dual booted
although i prefer arch kde i just wanted to give fedora a go
if that helps
absoluetly nothing found from my end
that's why i'm here
ok but which one are you using that leads to the 1hr battery life
could you name the model
both have the exact same thing, i thought fedora would be better but funnily enough it's a bit worse
Lenovo loq irx10 2025
5060 laptop gpu i7-14700HX
1TB SSD 24 GB RAM
@abstract nova any luck with this ?
hold on i'll try it
ok
Didn't really see much exept for that the discharge at vivaldi and discord opened with powersiving mode on is 30 watts
yeahhhh
idle as in like battery saving heaven?
yeah i did everthing and it's 24 watts
including killing the gpu btw
uh, idle means you're not running any programs
i think you're thinking of 'idol'/'ideal'
this is at idle and with the UMA graphics optiom from the bios
and power saving and battery conservation both on
with 60 hz and brightness low
literally everything at hand
just for a 20 watt drain with absolutly no usage
