So I recently installed Arch on my main PC because Windows was giving me problems with my older hardware, and it was a great and smooth experience (and I was used to it since I have a Steam Deck). But after installing some customization things through the Discover app and restarting my PC, when launching into Arch, a black screen comes up. I had already restarted my PC multiple times so this confused me. I think it might be a splashscreen issue, but I don't know what to do. Please help

Please follow the Standard Litany when asking a question:
• What was your environment? What was your operating system, configuration?
• What did you do? What did you run or test? Where?
• What actually happened? What were the exact results, complete log contents, exact error messages?
• What did you expect? What were you aiming to achieve? What result were you looking for?
Vague or superficial questions will yield vague or superficial answers. False information leads to false solutions.
- Standard Arch Linux install
- (I don't understand the question/it serves no purpose in my problem)
- Everything seemed normal until I hit enter to boot up Arch Linux through GNU GRUB. There was no error message, and there is no error message on the black screen
- (I don't understand the question/it serves no purpose in my problem)
I would consider using the terminal rather than discovery, youre beggin for issues, which it seems youre having.
What we are trying to figure out is what you installed lol. You ought to at least remember.
Im suspecting plymouth? Which is notorious for borking.
Can you reach a TTY once you blackscreen?
(CTRL+ALT+F1 to 7 should put you into a TTY session)
We would also need to know: Which greeter (sddm, lightdm, etc) you use and which session type (X11 or Wayland) you use.
@surreal trail
No I can't go into a TTY session. I'm using sddm and GNOME
I'll keep in mind to not use Discover when installing certain thing lol
So its blackscreen and ctrl + alt and lets say F3 doesnt do anything?
Nope
When I was installing Arch I just used all the defaults so idk
All the default? So you used the install script?
Hold on, so it's a black screen, though my monitor still picks it up as if there is something on my screen. So I'm guessing maybe everything is working fine, but something is blocking everything out
I installed Arch using a USB and then moved it to my SSD
That doesnt answer the question.
Im guessing you used the install script since you dont have any idea which session type youre using.
Whoops, I meant Wayland
Try ctrl + alt + backspace just in case because if you absolutely cannot get to a TTY or inside a session you will need to chroot via live usb.
Okay there was actually a response but nothing shows up
Hmm. Yeah, hope that you have a key with archiso on it, cuz I dont see any other way to debug this.
