Plugging in controller leads to spamming of Shift input

Whenever I plug in a controller to my computer, the computer registers the shift key rapidly being pressed and unpressed. I've verified this with an online keyboard tester. How can I prevent this from happening?

Yeah it happens with all of them

It doesn’t seem to happen with Bluetooth controllers but my only one of those broke

I have a framework 16 and installed the latest drivers from their site. Is there smth else I need to install?

Was the controller working before at any point of time?

The wired controllers work they just also spam the shift input, so trying to type while the controller is connected is annoying

Do u use any software to set key map for the controller?

Idts, maybe steam but the error occurs even when steam is closed

Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings

Check for any option that connects your controller keybind to keyboard turn it off
