I'm trying to download arch linux using the arch installation guide and this youtube video.
I wanna format the root partition as btrfs but according to the wiki btrfs does not have encryption support but can be encrypted if it is done during installation before formatting the partition
Everytime i try to open the encrypted partition and route it in order to format it as btrfs it doesnt work and gives me the errors below (I added them as images since it's inside a vm)
i checked the cryptsetup version and it's 2.8.1 (which i think is up to date)
i try to update it but i get the error in the last image
i tried re defining all the partitions (all over again according to how the wiki seperates them in efi, swap and linux x86-64 root) and it still gives me the same errors
i'm not sure if the problem is like internet because pinging wiki.archlinux.org does send packets back
but it seems like the installation can't connect to any of the mirrors or smtn

i wanted to try manually installing arch myself but i'm gonna try using arch install to make sure the vm isnt the problem or smtn
reason i'm using a vm and not actually installing it is because i wanna test manually installing it on a hard drive i'm not using and a vm to make sure the hard drive doesnt break (in case i wanna use it again) because i have a lot of important docs on my laptop that i DO NOT want to get deleted or corrupted
so this is basically just a test of manually installing arch before i actually do it

There should only be the one you got from uname when in the installer

Some of the modules got updated while the running kernel looks for them at the old location

In the installed system you can install https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/kernel-modules-hook/ to keep the system fully functional after a kernel update

It has to be installed before because it's a pacman hook which runs on kernel update

You dont need to update the installer with -Syu
Just continue with the install

i'm so confused
what's the command?
just typing /dev/mapper/swap none swap defaults 0 0 says permission denied
but the crypt is open so i should be able to make changes to it

i figured that out after about an hour or so of seaching through the wiki and google
i thought it'd be the same system as for the other 2 partitions but ig not
i've also downloaded the kernel-modules-hook thing in the installation

i finished installing
but it wouldn't boot after unlocking the encrypted /dev/sda3 directory
so i am reinstalling and redoing everything

I've installed it!
although kitty doesnt work for some reason
prob config or environment related
that i shall not fix because i can just use foot for now
and the btrfs partition isnt encrypted cuz i gave up on getting that to work for now
