#archinstall disk partitioning problem

Hello. I just set up Boot Camp on my Macbook Pro 2010 to have different partitions, both 250Gb on one drive. I planned to use arch linux on one of the partitions while still having MacOS on the existing other partition. In archinstall (live usb), I tried to configure the disk to only install arch on one partition of the disk. Theres a problem. When I tried to install, it gave me this error:

Invalid configuration: Boot partition not found

I thought that was no problem and assigned the mountpoint to be /mnt/boot. I tried to install again and it threw me another error but with the word Root instead of Boot:

Invalid configuration: Root partition not found

How can I fix this? I want to get past this screen and be able to dualboot Arch with MacOS.

sda3 is my bootcamp

#

in archinstall> Disk Configuration im able to manually partition that one ntfs partition and change it to ext4

undone creek
#

sda3 is macos's boot partition

#

why are you trying to put linux on it

golden dock
#

it says on sda3 and sda2 what types of partitions they are

#

apfs encrypted is what my osx partition is

undone creek
#

oh nvm (i dont know anything about macos), you'll need to create another partition for linux's boot partition

archinstall is probably getting confused with ur cursed setup, i'd recommend going through the install process manually

undone creek

golden dock
undone creek
#

press enter on one of the free spaces

#

and then give it the rest of the space by just pressing enter

#

and then assign it teh linux root x86_64 type

golden dock
#

the maximum size from the free space is still separated

undone creek
#

execute cfdisk again

#

then

#

add the partition

#

with the type above

golden dock
#

yea i cant use all the free space

undone creek
golden dock
#

i can only use the space that was used by one of the partitions

undone creek
