#A problem in i3wm keybindings
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
where are you editing the current file?
@pearl oracle
you are creating a file called 'config'... somewhere
that may not be where the config should actually go
nano ~/.config/i3/config is what you actually wanf
You also don't need sudo to nano in your config folder.
It's a valid question for a new user. Though I'm slightly surprised someone new would be using i3.

I wouldn't recommended using a wm for my first use of a wm in arch, I would recommended using a de to get to know arch a little bit better, then use a wm
i know someone who only plays videogames on the hardest difficulty, he says he will need to learn the game anyway might as well learn it good
but i guess that would be installing gentoo...
control x
i wouldn't know I'm not unemployed
pacman -S plasma-desktop flameshot
reboot into plasma
then edit it from there, it's easier
then pacman -S discord
guh-nome sucks
to be fair this server has like 10x more people
@pearl oracle start here
it's easier to edit in a de
not recommended
so you're probably editing the wrong file again
i agree
you are editing the wrong file, i3 creates a config
why won't you boot into a de to make it easier to edit?
the file is in ~/.config/i3 we already told you
hold on
thank you
p.qb received a thank you cookie!
@pearl oracle apt install flameshot
bind flameshot to printscreen
@pearl oracle thank you
You're thanking too much ó_ò
snaps?
@pearl oracle are you on ubuntu?
?
have you considered moving to arch?
remove that config in your home dir
cp /etc/i3/config ~/.config/i3
arco is not arch
photo of ls ~/.config/i3
now open that with gedit
@pearl oracle flameshot please
@pearl oracle also why does gedit not work?
gedit for easier to edit
photo please
don't
photo with flameshot please
@pearl oracle sudo chown -R namehere ~/.config/i3*
@pearl oracle now open it in gedit
