is there something the modrinth app can do that prism launcher cannot?
It has mods
Idk I haven’t tried Prism yet
I’ve been trying to get it to launch and then it takes forever

where'd u get it from
prob cause I use my phone’s hotspot as internet lmao
that shouldn't slow down its launch
alr
can you launch prism from the terminal and get the logs?
It gets this far and then slows down
how do I do that?
ohhhhhh
you mean minecraft is taking long to launch
not prism launcher itself
?
yeah
ohh well that changes things
Lmao mb
then yes it does depend on your internet speed haha
yeah
cause on first launch it needs to download the assets necessary to run minecraft
so just wait for it to complete
Ye
prism lets you download mods, modpacks, texture packs and stuff so it should have all you need
I'm sorry if I'm pushing prism launcher haha, if you want we can debug modrinth
prism is rly good trust
Okay
lets you download from modrinth and a bunch of other things
Gotcha
Its great until it doesnt remember that mods are incompatible and tries to launch them until it crashes 😭
That’s what happened on Modrinth, yeah
lulz idk if I ever had that happen
though u can manually select versions right?
and u can manually select/remove mods n stuff
mhm
That’s why I liked it so much
Modrinth does all of this
so does curse
but curse slow
theres also multi-mc
go on flathub and search minecraft
so many
Okay
Oh yeah that’s where I originally got Modrinth
It kind of works, but crashes under too much pressure
hmm seems like a locale issue
a what now 😭
could you post the output of locale and locale -a
I mean it might not be the source of the problem since there are other errors tbh but worth a try
ok so
edit the file /etc/locale.gen
and uncomment the line en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
next, do sudo locale-gen
you need an editor
oh
do you have nano or something?
Idk
sudo nano /etc/locale.gen
Worked
ok
^
uncommenting as in remove the # symbol from the start of the line
oke save the file
and then ^
perfect, now sudo nano /etc/locale.conf and fix the mistakes
you have written UTF-
whereas it should be UTF-8
when you're done save the file
what u confused about?
Where I wrote that
in the file /etc/locale.conf
OHH
you have written many en_US.UTF- whereas they should be en_US.UTF-8
I just fixed that
run locale-gen after
already done
did you save the file
Yeah
are you sure
Can you show cat /etc/locale.conf?
yes but this is not the only mistake
Well idk how to do the others
@clever ice run this
as I said, there are many mistakes, not only one
navigate in the text editor using the arrow keys
and add an 8 after the -
There was only one u could edit
hmm, do cat /etc/locale.conf
If you just set LANG the rest should just use that value as well
See?
oh huh
You might need to reboot
yeah probably
T-T
I’m not good at details, only showing what I have
I only have the one line of code
^
I can’t bc Prism is still downloading
okay, then wait idk
