So I'm not sure if this is a quick fix or not, but I am attempting my first Arch Linux install and I want to do it manually from start to finish so I can learn more about how the distro works, at least for my first installation. I don't mind troubleshooting the problems I come across and I'll be using (and have used) the incredibly well documented Arch Linux wiki for the installation (and probably go to some outside sources for recommendations on packages, environments, etc to try out later). My issue, though, is that the terminal on the installation media (I have an ISO that I'm throwing in VMware workstation) is acting... slow. Normally a little slowness is fine, but this is excruciatingly slow. It takes about 10-20 seconds for a command that I typed to show up.
What I have tried:
**1) ** Scrapping the VM twice (once where I had Arch nearly fully installed). I mostly did this to practice and see if I could do it faster, but I was also running into other issues that I believe I just missed in the initial installation.
**2) ** Turning on Accelerated 3D graphics in VMware for the virtual machine.
a) GPU is not passed through on VMware, but I did try to install nvidia drivers too just in case on the first installation.
3) Checking for firmware updates again (as I have only seen this one other time and it was on a Cisco switch that I needed to wipe and update the firmware for)
Any assistance is appreciated, thanks! Also, if you need any other information from me please let me know. I may not know the commands well just yet, but I'm happy to learn more troubleshooting commands so I can provide more information in the future if needed (or just to troubleshoot on my own)
