#[SOLVED] LibreOffice auto spell checking not working
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I took the same Doc and put it on my Linux mint laptop with the same settings that i have on my Arch PC and the spellcheck works
For spell checking, make sure hunspell and a language dictionary for it are installed.
i installed hunspell with sudo pacman -S hunspell , where do i find the english dictionary?
@astral frost https://archlinux.org/packages/?q=hunspell-
mint has this installed by default
i realized my problem
when i was trying to install the dictionary i was doing hunspell-en , not hunspell-en_au
i have to add it to user defined dictionarys now right?
For spell checking, make sure hunspell and a language dictionary for it are installed. Then enable the Writing aids by selecting the check-box in Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids > Hunspell SpellChecker after restarting LibreOffice.
@astral frost fresh or stable?
i believe i did stable
try fresh
was a while ago
so i just do Yay libreoffice-fresh and it will overwrite the old version?
hold on, don't use yay as a crutch
sudo pacman -S libreoffice-fresh then?
i have fresh now, i know its a new install because my preferences are gone now, but still no spell check
are you sure?
unless mchina is a real word then im sure its not working
@astral frost pacman -S hunspell-en
error: target not found: hunspell-en
i did sudo pacman -S hunspell-en_au and installed
but that didnt fix the spellcheck
