#Flashing Screen (Live ISO stage and forth)

I have intel cpu and igpu, core i3. I'm curious if there's a way to make it not flashy during the install process (May or not do it again if I could get rid of it). So I can install it properly without eye strain lol. Any more info needed, just ask.

Heya lol. And gimme a moment, I'm in the bathroom

#

So... do I send a screenshot?

#

Because well, some info is left off

random cedar
#

lspci -k | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

#

upload that please

astral narwhal
#

you didn't hear this from me ||discordo||

astral narwhal

Ah, I thought it wasn't in the repo

#

Nice

Fuck... uhm...

Best I can do

random cedar

lspci -k | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

astral narwhal
#

Wait what

#

Didn't know it could do that, I already did

@astral narwhal how old is the iso?

astral narwhal
#

Newest

random cedar
#

@astral narwhal torrent or direct download?

astral narwhal
#

Direct

random cedar
#

@astral narwhal did you flash it with rufus?

astral narwhal
#

Ventoy

As a distrohopper, literally my best friend

random cedar
astral narwhal
#

I'm not quite sure, all I had known until now is newer kernel = annoying black flash

#

Although the instructions there are very similar to what I was told on the lm server by lot

#

Yeah, kernel parameter didn't work more than once iirc

random cedar
#

add i915.enable_psr=0 as a kernel param

random cedar
astral narwhal
#

So I'm pretty sure, if not guaranteed, to not work anymore

@random cedar

random cedar

what do you think?@crystal shale

crystal shale
#

Try nomodeset kernel param

#

@astral narwhal

astral narwhal
#

Sorry, I installed reborn from the wait lol, but since I'm having the same issue I'll try

crystal shale
astral narwhal
#

The latest stable is fine

#

How can I access the kernel parameters in the install? I'm kinda used to grub and I decided to use refind

astral narwhal
crystal shale
astral narwhal
#

Nvm, found it on my own. Nomodeset, right

#

I'm feeling a deja vu, I think I was already told that and it didn't work either

crystal shale
#

Not in this thread at least

astral narwhal
#

Yeah, I just joined. I'll try and see if it was as useless as I remember (no offense)

crystal shale
#

Tried the lts kernel?

astral narwhal
#

I already told killer that anything past 6.8 doesn't work

#

I'll keep this for tomorrow lol, I'm mentally tired

crystal shale
astral narwhal
#

I had forgotten I already mentioned it 🤦‍♂️

astral narwhal
#

Read through... so I'm basically screwed and have to do ol reliable and switch kernel harold1

crystal shale
#

Yep and try the newest kernel from the aur

#

If it's still happening there then you need to find a bug report or make one yourself

astral narwhal
#

For the time being I'll just in case install the 6.6, and hopefully use that latest one apart

#

So I don't bork my install like I did with debian and glibc harold1

crystal shale
#

You can have more than 1 kernel installed

astral narwhal
#

I know, but you can never be sure. Will try though

#

Nvm I've got the latest it seems, 6.13.7?

#

Ok so far most kernels after 6.8 don't work. Idk if all but most simply don't

crystal shale
#

I guess try the absolute newest rc then

#

I guess try the absolute newest rc then

astral narwhal
#

Gonna try

astral narwhal
#

well, a small inconvenience and now I'm back lol

#

I'm kinda having an issue installing the kernel from aur, idk if it was because I wasn't home when it asked me to confirm or what, once the refresh keys thing is done I'll copy the issue

astral narwhal
#

"gpg: recepción del servidor de claves fallida: No hay datos" (idk if the deepl translation is right - "gpg: key server reception failed: no data")

crystal shale
#

Often there's useful stuff there

!!! IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING linux-mainline-um5606 !!!

I will be deprecating this package upon the release of Linux 6.14rc1, as the only remaining patch for this series of laptops has been merged into Linux and is slated for release in 6.14rc1!

Thank you all for using this package for the last few months!! ❤️🐧
Found this, seems important

crystal shale
astral narwhal
#

Ah. Welp, I don't have much more than that though. Didn't really see anyone complaining about the keys

astral narwhal
#

Yeah, is that the issue?

crystal shale
#

Idk maybe if there's a bug in it

random cedar
#

@astral narwhal which one?

astral narwhal
#

I used yay, idk

crystal shale
#

Get Linus key with gpg --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-keys keyhere

astral narwhal
#

What do I type on keyhere

#

Just anything?

crystal shale
#

Linus torvalds gpg key

#

The pkgbuild has it

astral narwhal
#

So I have to clone the repo?

#

Or just read through pkgbuild and copy-paste

#

Ok... first try and it says "server indicated a fail", probably isn't the approach?

#

welp, time to try to eep
