@twin agate check your settings
well i did
but i couldn't find a setting that sounded like it would fix my issue
its on the first settings tab under Applications
searched spotify, wasn't there. i didn't find a way to add something to the list
ok cool im apparently banned off of the "spotify is banned" page
definitely not a worthy music service but you do be you
its one of the websites that are set to open in firefox, look for that
this might be useful: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Mac/How-do-I-force-Firefox-to-always-open-open-spotify-com-links-in/td-p/5444103
How do I force Firefox to always open open.spotify.com links in the desktop app? I am using the latest MacOS and the latest desktop app with a Premium account. Extra context: The biggest issue is that the open.spotify.com web app doesn't notify you when you add duplicates to a workflow, and it's...
i found that earlier, didn't have anything i could use
could try clearing spotify cookies or in-browser settings
did that already
i have no idea how that popup looks or what its provided by, and spotify does not want me to find out, do you have a screenshot of it
sadly not, sorry
could use this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/spotfy-links-in-spotify-app/
tho beware, its source code is gone
oksx
Solved the issue - in-case anyone comes across it themselves and finds this post, the solution for me was to open a spotify link in firefox, then on the spotify webplayer there is an options menu, in that menu there is a choice to "open in desktop app", when I clicked on that Firefox took me to a page where I had to give permissions for Firefox to open the spotify application.
After I gave Firefox that permission, it now opens any open.spotify.com links and immediately opens the spotify application at the correct page.

yup. had that and refused, now i want to change my choice
only works for open.spotify.* and play.spotify.*
