i enabled it in system but whenever I boot i am greeted with a black screen and the cursor, and cant do anything besides swithc terminal

isnt it just install sddm and enable, i also installed kde, and tried updating all the qt stuff

try putting LANG=en_US.UTF-8 in /etc/locale.conf and uncomment en_US.UTF-8 in /etc/locale.gen and running locale-gen

maybe. i've never remembered needing to install a theme to use sddm
